If you wouldn't even ski some of the chutes there, why in the world did you go there in the first place....

I could ski the Strawberry Park area of Beaver Creek all day for a solid week and not get bored with it.

learned to ski here in 1975 or 76. Loved the ski school, my instructor was "Frog" Lunch was a buck fifty for a hotdog, soda and a snickers. After graduating, i skied with a balloon tied to my arm (i was 5) so my parents could find me. Also remember the apple streudel at the lodge.

I miss skiing also. I skied with the K2 demo team for a day. when I drove out to there. by myself. I can't remember one run name, but it was too much for a day. A great feeling there. To ski with them was great and they were really nice guys. Thanks for the great video.

I’m an expert skier, but when skiing with my 74 year old dad, we stick to the blues. While skiing in Feb. 2014 I was taken out by a out of control snowboarder tearing my ACL, MCL, and LCL. Had ACL surgery in June and I was back at Wolf Creek skiing 8 months 3 weeks after surgery. Of course with a knee brace. Not a fun injury for a person who was 53 at the time. My plan is to become a super senior so I can ski for free.

i have been skiing twice in Portland and just was able to conquer the green last year. My youngest daughter (22years old) went with me last year and was able to do the learning sloop. My other daughter wants to go with us this year and has never ski, where in Colorado would be the best place for us.

I skied Ski Cooper in 1990 when the 4th Infantry Division had their Iron Horse Day. In fact I won the slalom race that they held for the soldiers. If memory serves, Ski Cooper was conceived by former 10th Mountain soldiers after WWII. Great place to ski.

I haven’t skied Colorado for 30 years but my fondest memories of skiing are late season and fresh powder days in Loveland. Especially with their late season tix for $25 circa 1992...good times

Hey Bert-- nice videos, fun to hear someone else's perspective on many of the colorado ski areas I love. one small correction -- the Pali lift at A-basin is not the "original" chair. The first chair was actually a rope toe that started where the Black Mountain Lodge is now and went up the Norway face area. You had to take an army jeep up to get there, or so I've been told. After that came the Exhibition chair line-- which is now the Black Mountain Express-- and Pali came a bit later. It used to be hike-to-terrain and apparently there are some very old time locals who are still bitter about losing the powder!

Not a difficult drive at all if the weather is good. Major highways the whole way. But you will need to wake up well before dawn to get there when the lifts open.

I skied here once and liked it. The village has some nice restaurants and shops but I didn't find it big. I thought it was on the smaller side actually. I love the red wagons everywhere so you don't have to lug your skis and it is not too long a drive from Denver. My condo was right across the street from the lifts and it was very nice.
