My shelf and micro Shunting/Switching Layouts.
I am originally from Upper Hutt, New Zealand. I live near Palmerston North at present.
My layouts are DCC and all bar one loco has Bluetooth HM7000 sound decoders, although I am not a huge fan of Hornby diesels. Locos are Bachmann and Heljan.
A new bigger, not portable section is to be started in May and connected to Peckham Junction. I have a new Micro layout being released soon.

Hi Bernie looking forward to seeing what you do in O gauge it's too expensive for me even D C C is but we can dream. I also are trying to get to 400 subs it goes up and down just can't get over the line. All the best from Mossend railway oo.
I love your layout it looks amazing I wish I could have o gauge but it's too expensive and I already have too much 00 gauge
Yes I am lucky I am single and current share rent with a friend. However I could not afford a big layout, the points are very expensive, hence no points on this module. Regards Bernie
Thanks mate for watching. Hi from NZ, Bernie
No stopping you Bernie. Very interesting project, I always wondered how small you could make an O gauge layout. Will certainly keep an eye out here 👍
Looking forward to seeing what you do with your new O gauge stock mate
spent many happy childhood summers on the NYMR, eventually as a volunteer ticket inspector. Good luck with the project! The simplicity of that traverser is a stroke of genius - I assumed I'd need drawer runners or something
looking forward to see the progress on this layout bernie fro. pete
Good luck with your new O gauge layout.
Thanks mate. Something new. Regards Bernie
Means alot Col. Regards & Thanks
Wonderful looking loco good weathing mate as always all the best Colin from Mossend railway oo.
Thanks mate. Regards Bernie
That's a great looking van,I wonder how many barrels of Dylington Custard it would carry 😂 you've done a nice job of building it.... Cheers James 🙂👍
dont be too worried about a GWR van in North Yorkshire - by the time of the grouping, most wagons were basically common user, so it was quite normal to see SR and GW stock in Scotland , let alone Yorkshire. If you go over to disused stations , there's a shot of Ripon during the 30's, and all the vans in the yard are GW ! I'm pretty sure this kit is still available ex stock from Peco, although the original Peco range is overshadowed by their procurement of the far more extensive Parkside range
Thanks so much for the info. And for following me. Kind regards Bernie
@@smallrails6831 all Good Bernie, Its good to see what everyone is doing
Thanks mate. I like your layout and locos too. Regards Bernie
Nice looking loco that...
Thanks mate
Excellent loco, nice subtle weathering 👍🏼
Thanks. I don't like the 'right out of the factory look ' lol Regards Bernie
Thanks for watching. Regards Bernie
Beautiful locos and great scenic work - thank you for sharing 👍🚂
Got a third Micro layout planned. A 1960s O scale...😮
I wish Darren had more time for meal breaks Bernie! Great look at the two layouts there, all looking good and operating well. The future’s bright for Metal Co, taking on new staff as the government have a big recycling initiative in place. But the rail union are getting rid of all drivers called Darren as they’re all ancient! lol Thanks for the mention pal, look forward to more instalments soon👍
Thanks so much. Regards Bernie
Great stuff Bernie
Yes. I love the 47/57, not sure if the sound is right or just a generic UK diesel sound file. One of the first DCC ready Bachmann's. It is an 8 pin, as soon as I can get an 8pin Hm7000 decoder in NZ, will update it. Not sure of the age however. 😊
