I am a UK Truck Driver who enjoys Sim Racing in my spare time. I make videos of both, nothing but pure driving.
Since the earliest time I can remember I've been a fan of Driving and Motor Racing. My Father was a Trucker and other men in my family (including my brothers) are also linked to motor vehicles. I am the first in my family to truly love all Motor Racing.
This channel is a time capsule for my son showing my passion for driving to the very best of your ability and my hobby which is connected to Motorsport.

I’m fairly confident that if one were to slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop in a real race, they’d get smashed from behind.
It's only a test. In reality you'd do everything to avoid crashing and that's the point. Even when an AI has crashed into the player car I have still given a high rating (LFS) because after the accident they avoided further contact when continuing the race... not all AI behaved like that.

yeah the tire model is much better than theres still a bit of quick lock up and opposite lock gping on, but its better

Hey brother, I appreciate your support! I think you'll click with this track, these new Stock Cars are really fun to race I would definitely want to get back online for them. I've really gotten into NASCAR and GT racing, I was an F1 guy but it's not competitive racing anymore.

Jay great race here! Really liked to see the ai battle and overtake into t1 at 2:40. You then battled to keep the purple/green (rusty/crabham) cars behind and they kept trading places. Annnd out of gas ha. Very cool.

Yes I like that, I was racing with AI on Donington with GT3 cars, I've put the AIs difficulty so they do the same time as me, and guess what. I saw the AIs battling each other, changing racing lines, crossing lines, and then spin. (example in my video here kzread.info/dash/bejne/eKlklLWQZ7irhdY.html ) My friend that got me into simracing thought I was racing online, and I said "no it's AIs" !! I had more fun with AIs than with humans in months, because there I can restart when I want !
Haha I had a nice battle myself with these updated AI, it was fantastic! I'll check your video out. Not sure how old you are but as a guy over 40 I'm amazed with how racing games are so real now.

This mod was made originally for rFactor, and this version for Automobilista is an official conversion of the rFactor mod. You did very well to drive the Vanwall, I should say. Youre braking really late in some places, hence the moments where the back end steps out as you turn in to the corner (and you did great to catch them!) I did a great deal of research and test driving on the original rFactor mod, so I can give some pointers as to how the cars behave, if you want...
Hello JCG, I appreciate the friendly and kind words. These cars are definitely a great challenge but lots of fun, I'm surprised that sim racers don't really drive them as an alternative to GT3's 😉 I'd be happy to take some advice on how to better drive these cars, I think next I'll try the Maserati 250F. @@SIMRACINGTRUCKER right, then! The Vanwalls were understeery, so turn into the corner earlier, and get on the throttle earlier to counter that. The Ferraris were also understeery, but in a worse way. One reason is the Englebert tires used being increasingly inadequate. Add the powerful engine and short wheelbase, makes it a very sensitive car as a whole. Apparently one trick Mike Hawthorn said about driving it is to keep the revs high, which works for me... The BRM more or less handles better compared to those two, but it's hard to trust the car, especially the back end of the car under braking. Though that checks out, because the rear brakes were a problem of the BRM P25 throughout its whole career. The Coopers. For me, at least, the T43 handled better than the T45, I find it harder to control slides on the T45. Though with disc brakes and bigger engine, the T45 is faster. The Lotuses were very light cars, so you can, for instance, brake later than the rest, but they were hopeless on really fast tracks. I once did a race at Nardo in the Lotus 16, and it won't breach 160mph, even the Porsche 718 left me in the dust! The Porsche 718 RSK is basically the sportscar modified to be a single seater. In the exact state it had, it would've been eligible for F2 races (though Carel de Beaufort didn't mind racing it against F1 cars). It had a swing rear axle, so it's oversteery. And the small engine and the slightly modified sportscar bodywork meant that it would be hard to catch, let alone keep up with any bigger cars. But it had a very good top speed. At the aforementioned race at Nardo, I switched to the Porsche, which I managed to max out at 170-171mph! And now, the Maserati 250Fs. I'm sure you may have noticed there that there were actually several variants of the car. There were T1s, T2 "Leggeras" and T3 "Piccolos". Frankly, it's hard to find faults with these 250Fs, they all handle extremely well, but the differences in the variants would affect overall lap times. The T1s were the cars built from 1954-56, that had been steadily improved over the seasons. The T2 "Leggeras" were the 1957 works cars, and as the name suggests, they had a new, lightweight chassis, making them lighter and more potent than the earlier cars. Though by 1958, these variants lost quite a lot of power because of new fuel regulations... Then there's the T3 "Piccolo". It's basically what Maserati would've used if they kept on racing in 1958. This car is smaller than the "Leggera", lighter than the "Leggera", the engine had been modified to suit the new fuel regulations (so it managed to keep most of its power), and it also had a shorter wheelbase. It is my favourite of the 250F variants, though while it still handled very well, the short wheelbase made it more sensitive, and it's much easier to get it sideways. The Lancia D50. The car never raced in 1958, it was just a "Bonus content" added in. So it is in the specs it had in 1955. It is a fantastic car, good power, good brakes, very good traction. But that's where you should be careful at. Thanks to the design of the D50, it had great traction around the corners. But let's not forget, the crossply tires don't really make much grip. And when the D50 inevitably breaks traction, it is very, very hard to catch...

Great upload👏 That M4 is a blast to drive, & sounds awesome; in fact all of the DLC endurance content is incredible. One question, I noticed you had a grid of 33; the max. grid I can race with is 32 (31 opponents), have you done anything differently, or have I missed something in the options? Thanks
Thanks man, much appreciated! Yes I'm loving the M4 and the Porsche, a stellar job from Reiza. As to your question, I'm setting the Opponent Number using Manual Grid to a total of 31 cars but then the game loads 32 and the Safety Car (33).
Lol, ai is still by far most unrealistic out of all sims. As is the physics. Been 1,5 years on iRacing and went back to check what changed. Sadly not much…
It's not perfect yet, I agree iRacing's AI is probably the best in any sim.

Really like seeing some smoke ahead of me when ai slides the tail out a bit on corner exit. It’s been rare so far but I have seen it happen! Like to see it a bit more.
It's fun to see mistakes, hopefully more variation to come.

I used more than one. For the tyres I used rF2 Simhub Overlays, steering & pedal inputs were Input Display - SimHub overlay, info was SHO XD Style SimHub Overlays, headlight indicator is SimHub Headlights indicator AMS2. Thanks for watching!

The WOW factor is evident for sure. I'm really impressed with everything Reiza has done with the realism of the AI and how dirty air affects the car. It's outstanding! Plus I wasn't going to buy the new dlc's but the free weekend tipped me over the line 😁

Why are you using vsync?
It limits my FPS to 60. My fans get too noisy and things overheat otherwise.

It was pretty tight for sure, the narrow tyres make driving modern cars feel so balanced it's so much fun and a different style of driving. I'm sure there are guys watching this thinking I don't drive these well enough :) Thanks for dropping in Kev, much appreciated!
