Deleting my comments doesn’t hide the fact that Ron Beaton is a child predator and going to hell. Have a great day!
PSA Ron Beaton is a child predator. I’m not the only female family member he has preyed on either. When I was 5 he propositioned me using his now deceased son Sean by saying “Sean, offer Molly $5 to take off her dress.” I’ll NEVER forget it. Thankfully my dad walked into the room at that moment and I ran to him and hid behind his legs. I didn’t know if I could even REPEAT what he had said but his behavior is why my father raised us in Monterey running KNRY. We were down visiting my grandfather for the holidays. Thank GOD my father Bill was a GOOD man unlike Ron the P E D O P H I L E!
I thought Jay retired from SOTC, not fired. Maybe that was his call, not Grundy.
Ed MacKay's host of TJW90 was also a client of Jay's as was Randy West and True Don Bleu of The Gong Show.
Wow so Jay Stewart got Pat Finn for TJW before Jay's death. Of course, Pat got STYD and then the Big Spin.
@@danielanderson4726 I am not sure if that happened probably Fred Wostbrock did when he took over. Like they said Jay's time as an agent was not productive people thought he was looking for work for himself.
Dennis James' syndicated episodes of Price is Right never aired in reruns on GSN or Pluto in part because of the Bob Barker fur ban, and furs were in a lot of 70s episodes. PDQ in the mid-late 60s was syndicated and the tapes are said to exist.
Got any more KNX air checks from this time period?
Unfortunately, I don't have anymore myself, but Airchexx.com might. Also, check out themellowsound.net It has most of the songs that aired on KNX-FM from its beginning in 1973 until its format change in 1983. Here's the story of how it got revived from one of its proprietors kzread.info/dash/bejne/domYsKeqns7gZ5s.html
Glad we are getting news on The Jack Barry book! Was just thinking about it today!

I want to add that Regis Philbin continued to say throughout his show that he 'discovered Richard Simmons"
Enjoying this Josh! Thanx!
KDOC aired reruns of $128k Question, James PIR, What's and What's my line. In the early 80s.
Sandy Frank failed to come to terms with Kennedy and Peter Marshall before Jim Lange got the job.
I do not blame Wink either. And Wink did The Great Getaway Game in 1990
I mean Michael Hanks
You should tell Adam the story Richard Kline told youK
Hearing that Gene did not discipline her she lost respect for him
Your dad was one of the greats…..very best of luck to you
That story about Bill Cullen and Elizabeth Ashley is interesting. My grandmother was watching Price that day and saw it live. Anyway, as you mentioned Adam, in the era of live commercials, Ashley was "The Chiffon Light Gelatin Pudding and Pie Girl," dancing in a tutu among a number of pies that had been topped with whipped cream. Ashley lost her footing and accidentally flung one of the pies into Bill's chest and my grandmom was laughing so hard while Bill was trying to keep a straight face as well as Don Pardo.
There was another time when the contestants for one show were offered a live circus elephant. The elephant was brought onstage, and to the shock of Bill, the contestants, the staff, and the audience at home & in the theater, the elephant defecated on a coast-to-coast television broadcast. Everybody cracked up at the sight, but Bill straightened himself out after allowing himself a laugh, and remained in total control of the stage. He looked into the camera calmly, waited for the audience howls to die down, and then deadpanned, "Be sure to join us next week when The Price is Right offers equal time to the Democratic party." My grandmom was laughing at that one too.
This one didn't inlove a live commercial, but 20 years later, me and my grandmom were watching $ale of the Century which had Pep Rally Week, where college students play for prizes and a Jeep. Along comes the second In$tant Bargain, and Lakita is in the lead by $1. The IB offers her a trip to a dude ranch. With a dude ranch, the obvious prop is a horse. However, a horse won't fit in the studio, so they dressed up two models in a horse costume. Halfway through Summer's description of the trip, the horse makes the attempt to buck. The costume for the front legs comes off, and Summer is trying ever so hard to keep a straight face while me and grandmom were laughing so hard. Then Jim Perry came out and said that "It's not a real horse" and that stopped it. Grandmom later told me that "that's the hardest I've laughed since Elizabeth Ashley lost her balance during a live commercial on The Price Is Right and flung one of the pies into Bill Cullen!"
The 1950s hosts or announcers or sometimes the model did live ads a lot, Bud Collyer did them on his shows, so did Jan Murray, because i remember my grandmom watching "Treasure Hunt" and he or guest host Bob Kennedy or announcer Tom Reddy or Bill Wendell or Bob Williams or Carl King or the "Pirate Girl" Greta Thyssen would do them. Bill Leyden on It Could Be You did them or announcer Wendell Niles too. Johnny Carson did live ads on his quiz show too or Ed McMahon sometimes did them. On Dough Rei Mi, Gene Rayburn or announcer Roger Tuttle would do it, and on Concentration, Hugh Downs or Bob Clayton or Wayne Howell or Art James did that too. When the networks took ownership and control of the programs, the hosts and program announcers started to deliver the live spots. I remember my grandmom seeing these hosts and announcers deliver live spots. Did Jack Barry do live ads on TTD or 21?
Wasn't the last time grandmom laughed at an live commercial blunder on Price- on ABC, Johnny Gilbert screwed up a live commercial once too.
I have not heard "While you see a chance " in a long timeM
Finally
Well Josh! We knew that the ad with Casey was coming because you put his picture up!
Sam was a contestant on The $25,000 Pyramid in 1983. Click here on to Wink Martindale's channel to find out how much he won. m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/d2inq9h-o6e_m6w.html
Billy Cullen killed a man in a bar fight
Mark Kriski also hosted one of the pilots of TNPIR 94 which hopefully we will get to see
On the upcoming season of Stranger Things I would love to see Hopper "Say Anything" Joyce with "I have to say I love you in a song!"
Bear Manor re released his book Backstage with the original Hollywood Square and it was more about HS than Peter's life. He even said so
With "What a fool believes" (Kenny Loggins' version) I would like to promote Michael McDonald's memoir "What a fool believes"
Tom Kennington: "The Monkees were a contrived group" I had no idea; love the Holiday Inn story! History we've never would have learned. Glad you're sharing with Josh Jacobs today
Josh Jacobs: You're a great host; you know when to let the other person shine and not interrupt, and your stories, Josh, are interesting, too (in this case your stories about Sundays at Disney with Dad). How you find people, who have great stories, who've we've never heard of (the stories and the people) is a head scratcher for me. Tom Kennington's got some great stories!
This is a great interview 👏
Thank you.
I would love to go but too far away from me and even if I could go I do not think Adam wants to see me. He has made it clear he does not want anything to do with me anymore.
Adam should do a book in Geoff Edwards as he witnessed Lee Harvey Oswald being shot.
I would love for Adam to write a book on Tom Kennedy! He should do one on both Tom and Jack Narz! He stated in his interview with Bradley Clarke that he wanted to do books on the history of Feud and Dick Clark. I hope he does those. Better yet he should do a book on both Richard Dawson and Ray Combs since they both died in the same day 16 years apart.
Josh, do you listen to the media path podcast with Louise Palanker and Fritz Coleman? Did you know Fritz auditioned to host Wheel? and he was set to take over for Bill Cullen on Hot Potato until his boss said no? Because they were afraid they would lose him to game shows like they lost Pat?
I am from the same generation as Adam and they are my favorite game show hosts I grew up with as well.
Adam does not want anything to do with me anymore for multiple reasons. (Long story) but I still respect him as a game show author and historian
???
I was old enough to be the father of an active game show host when Liza started hosting Double Dare six years ago
Josh, were you Chuck Tyler on air?
Actually, I worked with Chuck but mainly have worked behind the scenes. The only pseudonym I have used is Josh Donovan.
Thank you for sharing this!
The film is being titled Michael, and is set to release April 18th 2025. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan.
We used to have a Toys R Us in Burbank!!!!

i live right down from aldis
For his legendary shopping sprees with Macauley culkin
I didn't know that was being filmed. If I did, I would have driven from my part of the world to take a picture (the other side of the San Fernando Valley).
Is it ok for people to drop by the parking lot? I’m thinking of making the trip
It's okay now that filming has finished. It's now back to what it looked like before the 'makeover'.
😚 Promo-SM
I had just graduated that year and it us quite ironic they are talking about high school reunions
Here's the first full segment of our interview. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lIt9lrWbncTanJs.html This segment talks about the radio station that inspired WKRP and the DJ Dr. Johnny Fever was based upon.
