AKGearhead

Cars, trucks, quads, sleds, jetskis, you name it. If it has an engine, you’ll probably find videos of us sending it, or fixing it after it’s sent a little too hard.

    how do you remove the auto-cock? like how are the fuel lines re routed?

  • @akgearhead
    @akgearhead15 күн бұрын

    In the factory form, it just runs in line from your fuel filter to your fuel pump, and then has a pulse line that goes to the crankcase. You just cap that opening on the crank case, remove the auto cock, and run a new long piece of fuel line from the fuel filter to the fuel pump, replacing the short piece that was originally on either side of the auto cock.

  • @akgearhead
    @akgearheadАй бұрын

    @@parkers7009do yourself a favor, and test the compression for yourself man! They should all be around 120. If that back cylinder is lower than the other 2, I wouldn’t necessarily walk away, but just know that you will probably be having to do a piston and cylinder. I have had this thing on the water twice now, and I can tell you it absolutely rips. Super fun and agile ski. Far better for doing tricks than my larger wave runners. If you do buy it, I would immediately do the triple outlet fuel pump if I were you. Very cheap mod, and will more than likely save your engine. Also, delete the autocock if it still has it. I believe Polaris had a TSB for this years ago so it may already be gone, but if not, get rid of it. Aside from that, $600 is a good deal for it if the compression is good!

    Do yourself a favor and drop in a live axle set up on the rear, that hydro tranny will not work if flipped upside down and once you pulley swap a hydro tranny it will not last long and will burn up do to excessive heat build up. As far as the front end goes do away with the stock (neck breaking) steering set up and build one from square tubing and weld on spindle hangers and use go kart style steering set up using tie rods, spindles, pitman arms. This will caust extra yes but you will thank me later when you're not in a ditch cause the stock stamped steering gears strip out or spindle brakes around the cast front beam. This is coming from someone who has built these things for years now and is trying to save you from future issues.👍

    I don’t really have a business. I did this on one of my personal jet skis. If you were to pay a shop to do it, you’d be looking at probably around $100 for the new cover, and then a couple hours to remove the old one and install the new one. Depending what the shop charges for an hourly rate, could be between $250-$300
