It's partially because my camera microphone jack is dead until I get it fixed. I'm forced to use the in-camera audio which is stereo capturing audio from all directions. Directional mics which I normally use will muffle sound coming from outside the frame.

All that purple reminds me of Clay Lacy's original air racer "Snoopy". It was followed later by his DC-7C "Super Snoopy". Also purple.

I added a slideshow with a few actual photos of it. I'll have another in a while with screenshots from 4K video. Camera only shoots 30fps/4K. Tricky to pull stills. I focus on video. Crowds flock around the planes too quickly to get many clean shots on the ground. Umbrella rule wasn't enforced this year as well. Not many Airshows in Canada are planned around giving photographers and videographers an easy time. The seating area was Sponsors/family only this year. I'll be asking them if they can consider having a paid early entry to get our crowd free shots in and an area we can shoot without having to navigate around the public in the future. Abbotsford isn't much better. They charge $150 for a stand that's placed in the worst possible position imaginable. Nobody really uses it. Canadian Airshows have an addiction to using steeple tents as well. Great looking in promotional ads. god awful for shooting low passes.

@@patrickshaw8595 it IS Clay Lacy’s original air racer! They restored it at Fighter Rebuilders a few years back. She was pretty solid though, and still had the original fuel bladders with a date code that matched the airplane’s manufacture.

The announcer went to the trouble to explain how Ross was an instructor on Tutors, specifically mentions it's the same plane the Snowbirds fly, but buries the lead by neglecting to mention that Ross himself was Snowbird #2 for two seasons in the 90's...
@TheUnknownVideographer18 күн бұрын
He did. I didn't record everything because I was positioned beside the pit and I would lose complete sight of planes because of temporary buildings for the event. They skipped the paid viewing area this year and had a much larger area for sponsors only. 0:36 They put a few static displays next to it as well, so 100 feet of viewing area was gone. They also weren't enforcing the no umbrellas rule for the sponsors and family as well. Lost of bunch of shots because of an idiot with a massive beach umbrella.

This is a type that has always appealed to me though I don't know why. It was old when it was designed but doesn't look dated alongside things like Cessnas and Pipers. Could be why I love it.

The Caravan always makes me think the designers forgot how long it was supposed to be and the Grand Caravan even more so. Certainly doesn't have the pleasant lines of the Beaver or Otter.

It got really stupid. There was about 20+ people that surrounded it and then it turned into a competition of who could get the closest and scare it the most for the reactions. 2 mothers with 3 kids then start throwing rocks and sticks . Then a couple with a dog showed up, saw the seal react to the dog, so they moved the dog closer. I just unleashed on them and told them to get the F away away from it. Usual crowd. Mostly Chinese tourists. Same ones who got fences put up in Banff turning it into a virtual zoo.
wow it sounds like James Bond theme between 1m28 and 1min36, exactly

I had a 200-600mm lens on my camera at the time when they showed up, so things are a bit shaky and zoomed in. This channel does not have a particular focus on any subject. There is an "Animals" playlist if that's what you are interested in.
