@@LilCramcram take the very small Phillips head screw out of the back The cover still does not come off easily. I uses the screwdriver to pry it open the battery comes out easily but it is very difficult to get back in It slides in rest the new battery across from the 2 metal contacts make sure it is laying flat. press down in the front of the battery (towards the contacts) until it dips down. then slide it into place Then follow original set up instructions

The following reset procedure is used when the scale displays an error 2, error, 0.0, inaccurate weight, or other unusual error. 1. Remove the battery from the scale. 2. Place the scale on a hard floor. 3. Step onto the scale, stand for about 5 seconds still and step off the scale. 4. Reinstall your battery.
