Wonderful performance and fabulous instrument. When the walls and camera shake, you have just enough! And, who doesn't love this Saint-Saens composition?!!!! Would love to see Hector Olivera get turned loose on this organ.

@@johnweddel687 we are so blessed to have such a monster instrument. Over 13,000 pipes now. Spring of 2023 a massive restoration/reconfiguring project involving over 4000 pipes behind the choir loft was completed. I’ve got many more videos please check them out. Gordon Turk has been on the bench for 50 years now. I’m always in awe of his talent. Last year I was just going into the bathroom across the street. I saw the water in the toilet ripple lol. And as far as the camera, that’s all sound effecting it. I’m holding it on a monopod not touching the floor.

Gordon is the BEST!!! He celebrated 50 years at the organ last summer. This is an old recording. The organ has been greatly enlarged and two years ago over 4,000 pipes were sent to OH for restoration and new wind chests. Then the space directly behind the choir loft was reorganized and new infrastructure built. Over 13,000 pipes now and never sounded better. It’s my favorite place to be. Please check out many more of my videos.

Trying to play along with this, it sounds like the organ is about 6 Hz flat. Was that done on purpose, a quirk of the recording, or something else?

I don’t know but I had trouble getting decent volume out of this. I guess I need a preamp. Check out my other videos, there are current versions of this. There is no comparison to what we have now. Over 13,000 pipes.

Even if the steady grip of who is filming seems envidiable, at 27:48, the camera seems to shake vetically a little... I feel the acoustic blast of the appearing organ moved the entire place as a micro earthquake or something so... Excelent sound, excelent orchest, excellent director... Excelent is the word for this video... Thanks alot for sharing!!!

I love that you caught that! Lol. It most certainly is an earthquake! The organ is now over 13,000 real pipes. The largest is a 32’ diaphone. It certainly rumbles. You feel it through the floor and your seat. Please see my other videos, there are three others from this concert. Please especially see the Boellmann fantasy for organ and orchestra and hold on your socks at the end. The mic picked up so well that you can hear the beater on the diaphone. I really need to locate more to the center of the hall.

At 00:35 and on, the video shows a giant American flag front-and-center in the auditorium while the texts to the sides call for holiness (separation). This is classic state-church hypocritical dissonance and divided loyalties, trying to serve two masters, as invented by Emperor Constantine in the 4th century. The earliest Christian writings take a very different view, as does the Bible in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, Hebrews 11:13-16, and 1 Peter 2:9-12.
