I love seeing young folks discovering the GOATS we came up on, BUT. I know even though you’re hearing the bars, the metaphors are going over your head. For example, he says "I nominated my DJ for president" on their first album there is a track titled Eric B. for president. Next, he says, "So pucker up and whistle My Melody" My melody is also a track from this same album, and it starts off with a whistle. Next, he drops "Before you know it you're following a fiend" The song he's best known for "Microphone Fiend" comes from their next album follow the leader. Rakim says, "put it in your pocket for later cause I’m moving the crowd and B a record fader" Move the crowd is also a track off the paid in Full album. I love watching you guys because history is being passed down but know you can’t get what we got out of this era because what made some of the bars so tight were the metaphors that we caught in real time. Keep digging and keep learning

There was NO auto tune back then. Janis sang her soul out with all the pain in her heart. Just her and a plain old fashioned microphone. This is all Blues. Sang the way it was supposed to be. Problem today is all the singers can't sing without auto tune. It's just sad. To sing like Janis did took talent. Something that's lacking in most singers nowadays. Rest in peace Janis ❤

The song title is "The Stroll", written by Clyde Otis, performed by The Diamonds, a Canadian group, and released in late 1957. The dance is also called "The Stroll". The TV show was called "Seventeen" and was competing for popularity with Dick Clark's American Bandstand TV show at the time.

Hey Key, I'm a certified PT. Some free advice about getting in shape, one of the best things you can do to lose body fat and manage body weight is what's called steady-state cardio--i.e., walking. Try to walk at a decent pace for 30-45 min 4-5 times a week. More is better. You've heard about 10,000 steps? I would say start out walking what you can, then aim for 10-15 K steps every day. You'll be a lean, mean, machine bro!

Here's my suggestion. I know you might think that the most important part is watching you react to music you haven't heard before and that is a factor. However, if you look through your comments, it's far more about what you say and think about the song. That is the majority of what people are looking for, to share their favorite songs with you and get your take on what it means and how you view it. So why not look at Justin Hawkins channel and his format which barely has any of the actual music. Nearly everyone watching has heard a given song soooo many times already. If you listened to 5 rolling stones songs and talk about them in context of each other, that's something fans of those bands want to hear. I remember watching your reaction to Tom Petty's Two Gunslingers and how you were letdown in some ways and even questioned his singing. I understood it completely. That was my first reaction to Tom Petty, I thought he had a nasally voice. But, I think that's an example of an opportunity to listen to a bit more than a deep cut and see what it is that people like about him. It's at that point that you begin to connect with his fans on something about his music. I could tell you had to edit out the stuff that wasn't positive! haha. But, why? Just say what you are thinking, move on to the next and see the whole picture. Maybe you still dislike it? That's fine, but you probably get all the tom petty fans listening to your thoughts and engaging.

A good example is I never heard of Angelina Jordan before, but you introduced me to her music. Listen to the song Feeling Alright by Joe Cocker covered in the late 60s and then listen you her song Our Time again. Very different voices, but the music and cadence is similar, I'd not be surprised if she was influenced by his music. Update -> So I google it and what do you know, she's covering Unchained M y Heart, a song that both Joe Cocker and Ray Charles did amazing covers of. Her version is closer to Joe Cocker's version, but see how that works? Vibes that you like today are often coming from music that's older than you. She also covered Always on My Mind which is old as well. She's clearly influenced by music that is far older than she is. Maybe that's a good angle for the channel is to start drawing lines from influences to the current music, because it's all there. Discovery is a big part of what you are doing.

Sorry, last reply. A good approach to music selection would probably be for you to look for songs that were reacted to by other youtubers long ago and are still up. Lots of Joe Cocker reactions that are still up, so it must not be getting flagged and removed. That would allow you to avoid wasting as much time.
