Technicallynot a carrilon as there is only one octave and also not a chromatic octave. Nice Mears bells from 1933, pity they werent hung foe ringing.

No they are classed as a Carrilon. and they were originally intended to be a proper ring but they didn’t have the money.

Hello Daniel, not wishing to belittle you or being to pedantic. The correct spelling is belfry not bellfree. Lovely bells but ringing that 72cwt would be fun but I reckon I wouldn't be able to ring it for too long.

Yeah it is but it but it still keeps the rope straight. If there wasn’t a guide the bells would be awful to handle the the draft is enormous

@harrybellringer Exeter tenor never goes up right, and it looks like there wasn't an effort to get it up right. Also, bells that size often don't double clapper when they're up wrong.
