Rockey Felker was 33 years old and started off 6-1 and had MSU ranked #13 in his first season...then lost to Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss to close the season by a combined score of 144-9. That #13 ranking was his high point as a head coach.

A lot of the younger fans that were claiming FSU is back(!!) the past few years need to watch some of these old Dynasty years. Nothing against CMN and the run they had this year, but winning a bunch of squeakers against so-so competition and needing a boatload of transfers to do it just doesn't matter up to what Bobby built. From 94-98 they didn't win a NC but all of those teams would have been clear Vegas favorites to beat this year's team. They were stacked with talent 2-3 deep at every position. I remember these good old days when the 2nd or 3rd string would come in and the coaches would actually call the same schemes and plays, instead of just grinding clock, and they'd add to the lead....that is one way you get 5-star HS players to commit to your program.

It wasn't just USC but Miami as well! Its simple! Look at the SEC run of success 2003 to 2020 start of NIL! Where were they heavily recruiting Southern California and South Florida. USC and Miami are located in these two area. If they ran right, they can compete with and beat the top of the SEC.

@@BamsCam226 I'm a Miami fan, who was born and raised in Chicago to the age of 17 until moving to Central West coast of Florida/Tampa Bay area. I've lived in Florida for over 20 years with friends from Tally, to Jacksonville, to Orland, to Ft. Myers/Sarasto to South Florida. The stories of SEC bag men all sounded just like the bag men back in Chicago with Chicago/Chicagoland HS BB recruits. The NCAA refused to do anything to the top SEC schools! Hell, they didn't do shit to the SEC schools who didn't win the SEC or win a national title!
