I've found that even on stock gearing the Velenion motor needs a heat sink and fan to run continuously for both vehicles. I didn't have a problem overheating on either with heatsink/fan and I was able to run a full battery through both. I did have my ESC overheat when I ran the 20 T n 22 T pinion gears. I have a fan on the ESC but, it's on its last leg and doesn't work very well! Cheers mate, I hope that explanation helps!

@@KCRC-SLC All good. I have a video with my upgrading on the Brushed Fiesta ST. I swapped to a brushless from Spektrum (3300kv) and went with an 18 tooth pinion. Had to swap in a 32 pitch gear setup and managed a 52.5 mph top speed and the motor wasn’t hot at all. Have a heat sink and fan on it too so I like where it’s at but was just wondering if could get away with a couple more teeth.

@@ludelvr Aye you "should be" good to go for more teeth. I have an all-in-one heat sink fan from hobby zone on 1 of my motors and the other one is the Traxxas heatsink with big boy fan. Both seem to work fine but I feel that the all-in-one has a weaker fan and covers less of the motor so is prolly less effective, but both work to keep it from overheating. I kinda feel like the ESC fan isn't need on the Slash with all the airflow under the body, but with the limited air under the body I feel it's needed under the Fiesta. And thx for the comments and questions mate!

I got the lil mini fpv cams from Amazon. They come with the hardware to mount these to anything with lil double sided sticky tape.

@KCRC-SLC I have a Traxxas Bandit I bought in 2000. It had the mechanical speed controller lol. And I bought a Sportwerks Mayhem in 2004 and another a few years later off E-Bay. About 12 or 13 years ago, I pulled them out and replaced the chassis on both and almost everything else. They are basically brand new except for a few parts. They have been put away for around 20 years. Kids are gone, it's time to play lol.

Ya I don't recommend taking the Fiesta in the deep mudd. I ended up replacing the front diff, as well as a new slipper clutch after this outing!

Aye, it is a lil more prone to rolling in rough terrain than a Slash. I would say the Fiesta handles better on pavement, where the Slash handles better in loose/rough terrain. I did just replace the on board camera so I was also babying it cuz of that. But cheers n thx for the comment!

If you wanna get up and go you gotta fit the 48t spur an 43t pinion you might need to cut or upgrade the motor mount an motor plate for the adjustable hot racing one I’m sure you can go a couple teeth more on the pinion maybe a 45 can that’s what I’m running right now 48t spur an 43 pinion but I’ll definitely rather 45 to see how that goes

I know there's optional "high speed" gearing that come with just not sure of the tooth size off-hand. I plan on installing the optional gearing when I replace the new arm and shock we blew out at the end of this vid! Stay tuned mate!!

Nice vid! Does your slipper clutch assembly have a considerable amount of play when pushing and pulling it front to back? Mines does and I wanted to know if that is normal.

No, it doesn't have very much play. I did just have to replace the slipper clutch on my Fiesta Vxl, which is the same part. It was damaged from all the debris n mud that gets in the chassis. I believe it's fairly cheap 20 bucks? But getting it out is a process.
