Damn that's literally the best car i've ever seen! It's small, decently fast, very cool looking (especially when jumping and flying) and can drive though almost anything
@danzenplaysАй бұрын
Thanks. To be perfectly honest, it doesn't drive all that well, or at least not as well as I would like it to. I needed it to have a decent top speed, which also increased the torque. Combined with the need to keep the car lightweight, this makes it too drifty.

I wonder if it's possible to craft suspension glitch that you could turn on and off by pressing switch
@danzenplaysАй бұрын
It most certainly is possible. It's easier to do with the non "infinite", weaker version of the suspension stabiliser. My acrobatic car creation (kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3qBqJNucqvYdto.html) has weak suspension stabilisers that only activate in the air. This makes jumps a lot more stable while not causing issues when driving on the ground. Toggleable, single-axis "infinite" stabiliser might be possible by using double-bearing motor clutches for locking/unlocking the suspension glitch.

Absolutely amazing! Would it be possible to integrate stabilizers into a piston engine build? As in - would the engine or the drive shaft gain more stability, or the whole thing would explode due to the internal forces of the engine, the gears or the steering? The list of parts for minimal collision you have suggested and use cases would also be very appreciated
@danzenplays8 ай бұрын
I'm assuming you mean the torque generated by a piston engine causing an equal and opposite reaction. The larger the rotating mass, the greater the reaction, so I would suggest lowering the mass as much as possible (unless you need a flywheel) and increasing the weight of the creation. If you think about it in real life, the mass of the spinning engine parts and shafts are really low relative to the mass of the vehicle itself, although the wheels are a bit more significant in some cases. Or perhaps split your engine in two and have it counter-rotate, much like how coaxial helicopter blades work. I don't recommend stabilizers in this particular application because it does not "discriminate". It might help with the reaction, but at the same time it would also impede desirable rotational forces, such as turning your vehicle. This would then become an unwanted suspension "glitch" instead of controlled suspension "exploit". I do intend to make some more videos, but this is still just a hobby for me, and to be honest making videos are harder (for me) than it seems. I'm not doing it to make a living, simply to share and give back to the community if I can.

I have a tier 3 metal fortress with cut outs for shooting through. I was worried about the wheels being lost so I made those using tier 3 metal too. There are 6 wheels & Cross shaped, tank steering and no seat, 4 button switched controlled. I was going to adapt it to a pipe piece lever control with sensors and take out the floor so pushing my character forward on both levers would move the vehicle forward or pushing my body weight on the left lever moves it left. etc etc. Especially now knowing this tip regarding the "No seat, No see, No shoot" A.I. Logic of the tape-bots I might try another warehouse run but using normal wheels. It'll be my second warehouse run in 1400 hours game play. LOL. I had the aiming slots controller powered to pivot down & squash the blue tape-bots heads as they got to close. Worked well but the wheel cross shape would cause the button control method to be difficult as the journey was bumpy. Cheers nice video. ;)
@danzenplays8 ай бұрын
I've been toying with seatless control for the longest time, but have yet to come up with anything that I found satisfactory. The two main issues being that the character lags behind when the creation moves creating oscillation, and non-level surfaces screws up any form of sensor-based controls since the character always remains upright. I'm very interested in how your lever idea would perform. Please do share your results when you get it working. Cheers!
@Electrodoc19688 ай бұрын
The one I have is button controlled, Tank steering, electric and set to walking speed. This causes character to not act weird but when the button is held down, the vehicle movement causes your cursor off the button therefore a pain. However I've recently discovered "Durability", "Buoyancy" & "Friction" settings in the survival .json files. LOL. I Now have slippery, indestructible & floaty Woc udders I use as a survival hovercraft base. If I can't use character body weight to push against bars to trigger sensors, I might need to strengthen crane wheels for a smoother warehouse ride Giving better button control accuracy whilst being stood up and not risk loosing wheels to red Tape bots. I "THINK" 2 pistons set to 1 on strength and length with each one facing each other separated with a T piece can be pushed by character weight but then I'd be struggling for room in the vehicle. I'll have a go later, post a video and drop a link if you like.? Cheers. @@danzenplays

If you want to do pushable pistons, put 2 in parallel. Hook 1 up to off (has to be off not just unconnected) and the other to on. Both pistons need to have the same length and strength.

Hey, I've got a question (I know nothing about scrap mechanic modding just to clarify that). Would it be possible to import a mesh of an entire road (entire race track as one solid object for example) and just raise the terrain so that it fits the road? Or will there be a problem with an object this big? (For example messed up collisions)
@danzenplays Жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "raise the terrain so it fits the road", you're gonna have to elaborate on that. But my entire track is a single mesh. If anything, I had originally wanted to make the track pieces modular, so that players can build their own track. The problem with that is once you start using anything other than straight pieces, the exact alignment of the next piece (and the next one, and the next......) becomes really hard to get right. I've found that these slight misalignment do cause collision issues. As a side note, if anyone has an idea for a track they want, I'd be more than happy to whip it up. I'd even be open to custom track pieces/features that's not already part of the current set of tracks.
@Pauglin Жыл бұрын
@@danzenplays the raising terrain thing is not really important so forget about that. I'm a bit of a 3d modeler myself, mostly trying to become a (racing) game developer at the moment. I would love if I were able to put some of my road/race track meshes into scrap mechanic because, as you said, the modular pieces are a pain to work with and they just cannot create an interesting road that is fun to drive on. I would love if we could work together and finally put some fun roads into the game. If you are interested, we can chat more on discord or something.
