    Great video, Jacob. However, you mentioned that the box lights are standard on these drills. On the BD7600, box lights are an option.

    The quick connect hitch is reversed on the front 7050 used in this video demonstration. The "hook" should be on the opposite side (next to the guy).

    I used to be a BIG fan of Vermeer. In fact I was a dealer from mid80's thru early 90's. I remember when the 504I baler was introduced; it had no way to raise the pick up for transport. Vermeer engineers said after extensive trials; they determined there was absolutely no reason to ever raise the pick up. That concept lasted 1 year. Funny thing; Vermeer invented the round baler; then let John Deere pass them up in just a few years time. Also their very first version of "Double twine arms" were 100% JUNK and were too weak and nothing but trouble and twine routing totally sucked. I'm sure they have a good baler; just too many past problems for me. Around here there's not many Vermeer dealers and the few there are don't know squat.

    I would try a vermeer, are local John Deere dealer got pushed out by deere and gobbled up by one of the big dealers. They built a store right next to the big dealer and sell vermeer now, plus I've been hearing about lots of problems on the new deere bales, net wrap problems and premature bearing failures.

    The R series is a fine baler. I am entering my 4th season with one and have had minimal problems. Only had 1 real issue. It was a manufacturing quality issue with the hydraulic net tensioning system. It showed up in year 2. Dealer replaced at no cost.

    I'd say these things are more accurate than a air drill. Based on our experience. No difference in air flow. Just gravity flow.

    We currently do not offer a native grass option on the BD7600 drill. We still offer a 2 section native grass drill, the 2SNG30 drill, but it will still have the previous version seed meter.

    I have the M6050 and it is awesome. The quick hitch is the bomb and makes hook up to this cutter super fast and easy, no other 3pt mower compares. I am very impressed with the steel in the blades also. I can cut lots of acres of tough bahai grass and they have minimal wear compared to other brands that would be worn out in the same amount of acres.

    Bought one a few years back and mowed 50 acres a year with it. Right after the warranty ran out the shaft inside the cutter bar broke. It had been used very little, but was out of warranty. I received no support from the dealer. I notified the corporate headquarters and received no support from them, either. Their customer service was terrible. I will never own another Vermeer product due to this incident and their horrible customer service.

    How do they compare to the Deere's baler?

  • @steveogden1829
    @steveogden18292 жыл бұрын

    Not as good, fewer dealers, dealers have minimal parts stock and no good trouble shooters. They invented the round baler; then let JD pass them up in short time.

  • @mikee5246
    @mikee5246 Жыл бұрын

    @@steveogden1829 respectably disagree. Ive had both. Deere easier to run at start but I had better performance out of Vermeer. less dealers yes.

  • @steveogden1829
    @steveogden1829 Жыл бұрын

    @@mikee5246 Here's my story: 1985 thru 1992, I was a Vermeer dealer and about 1986 they introduced the 604J/ 605J. It turned out to be a good baler only after they went from a square starter roller to a spiral roller with a scraper. On the 604/605 J balers, a monitor was offered, and it monitored the outside belts. Vermeer was sued by Hesston for patent infringement and lost the lawsuit to Hesston and it cost them thousands. JD was using the same principle, but paid Hesston for the patent rights. Then came the intro of the 504I baler at a dealer meeting in TN. The engineers were so proud of it. After the crowd looked over the baler, we noticed there was no way to raise the pick-up for transport. Their response: after extensive testing, we determined there's no need to ever raise the pick-up. They couldn't believe not a single order was placed that day. That ignorant idea lasted 1 year and then a lever was added to lift the pick-up along with a kit to update units already sold and it was a bear to install. Then came their double twine arms. What a joke. Made too weak, very hard to thread twine and a piss poor twine knife system. Then some moron had the bright idea to put a half twist in the belts in the front to prevent hay build up. Did not work, the twist would not stay in the front and could wind up being anywhere. Then on 504 and 505 models they incorporated some 14" wide belts that were next to impossible to re-lace and just a bear to remove/install. Then 604/605 K series showed up and turned out to be a misfit. That's when I abandoned Vermeer. They didn't have a real good baler until they started copying JD with the vertical bale chamber instead of the bottom drum design and JD's twine arm design and all 7" wide belts. Vermeer simply did not have the smartest engineers back then. Hopefully things are better now.

    Had the beers all my life had four of them. I like my a lot better than any of the others got along fine didn’t have a monitor you don’t need a monitor on that crap on there just drive to your left and drive to your right string tie, no net wrap, net wrap, hard to get off in the winter time Just bail hay and go put a string on still last for three or four years whatever
