Before Jesus died on the cross, people sinned on a regular basis, and they sacrificed animals for forgiveness. The Bible tells us that Jesus death on the cross was meant to give us a better way. He came to bring righteousness to his chosen people. 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us this: "For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." Scripture also says: 1 Peter 2:24 "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness." Scripture also says: “And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.” Romans 6:18. There are many people who call themselves Christians today who do not live any differently than people did before Jesus came. They sin on a regular basis just as people always did before. They believe they have been saved even though there is no distinction between their lifestyles and that of unbelievers. They believe Jesus made the sacrifice so that they can sin without a penalty and recieve constant forgiveness. This was not what God intended. The free gift that he offers is only for those who are obedient to living without sin. Hebrews 5:9 tells us: "And being made perfect, he (Jesus) became the source of eternal salvation to all who OBEY him," Deliberate rebellion against God was not acceptable before Jesus came: Numbers ch. 15 tells us: "But the person who does anything presumptuously, whether he is native-born or a stranger, that one brings reproach on the Lord, and he shall be cut off from among his people. Because he has despised the word of the Lord, and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt shall be upon him." Also, we are told that deliberate rebellion today is still not tolerated even after Jesus died on the cross: “For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.” (Hebrews 10:26). Jesus came to forgive sins and also to bring righteousness to those that he chooses to forgive. Most Christians deny that righteousness is possible. Without faith in the power of God to deliver us from the bondage of sin, they will not be able to enter his kingdom. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 confirms that righteousness is required for Salvation: "do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." God’s grace does not forgive continual sins. It frees us from the bondage of sin itself. Unsaved Christians are still living under the law. They are trying to find ways to conquer their sins on their own. They may run from church to church looking for answers. They may think this speaker or that one will have the magical answer. No human being can tell you how to stop sinning. There is no five step program that can change our heart. It is a miracle from God that we recieve when we are truly Born Again. Sin cannot be overcome without the power of the Holy Spirit. Those without the Holy Spirit are still under the law and they will pay the full penalty that the law requires come Judgment Day.

I think you are probably right, but what does that say? God is not talking or doing anything to help you through your trials and sorrows. So: if it is to be it is up to me. So, I love God and he loves me, and he promised me that I would see him in heaven. OK, but if nothing happens here on earth, then I am on my own and live my life the best I can without any help, which is what I have done for the past 67 years and will continue to do. However, this leaves the question about Jesus statement: Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man will open the door to me I will come in and sup with him. Does your thesis negate this promise? I have opened the door many times, but I have not seen or heard from Him. This is completely the opposite of Jesus / God's promise and it does me no good whatsoever on earth if he is only passively watching from a distance. But if that is what God is saying, so be it. I want to hear from God and have a relations ship with him, but if he will not communicate with me, there is nothing I can do about it. Charley Gray
My friend, God speaks in very mysterious ways. Sometimes he makes it obvious when he is trying to tell you or show you something and sometimes you can miss it so very easily. I know how you feel as I have been waiting for a knock on my door, though I understand it will not quite literally be a knock at my door by the one known as Jesus Christ as he is in heaven sitting at the right hand of God. That would be nice though. I've come to find out that a lot of things in the Bible are metaphoric and symbolic. There is a story in the Bible for every situation in life and what one story in the Bible means to me could mean something completely different to you. Hold on to your faith my good friend. I'm speaking on behalf of my own transformation, from my old wicked ways to my new more convicted and humble ways. I have my own testimony as everyone does and I assure you Jesus is the truth and the way to God. I definitely recommend looking into the teachings of Jesus Christ more so if you have not already and if you have why not give it another read? The religious system at that temple Jesús was at was corrupt. Naeem got the scripture wrong. Its not an investment of earthly things but of heavenly things. Lets use our money to find missionarys to help people spread the Gospel. Not grab your rescources and invest in YOUR future!! While personal Finance Is important this Is not what Jesús meant because it doesnt correlate to the Gospel
