I'm flying mine on 6S. I use a SK3 5045 kv=500, 80A ESC, 15x8 apc-e prop and a 6S 4000 mAh. The same setup like a typical EF 60" and it really kicks @ss. See kzread.info/dash/bejne/aHtopdSad63Uhso.html I made the hatch for the battery a little bigger (starting from the firewall) to make it easier to install the battery. With a pull pull on rudder I need no additional noseweight at all.

Props to JP, but anything you need to know about the panic you would best talk to rob at ‘Avicraft’ model shop, he’s flown these for 40 years in comp, demos, model shows, as well as producing them for 30+ years…..there isn’t a thing he doesn’t know about these aircraft.

Hi Graham, sadly the Version 1 Ninja has been discontinued for some time (10 years) so original batteries will be tricky to source. That said you should be able to source a similar size Li-Po online.

Hi - The electric brushless motor shown in this videos for the new `Panic` model, is NOT the same as listed at the end of the video ? - The one in the video is quoted as a 470 KV (put subtitles on ) and is all black in colour, ( looking like an Overlander brand `Thumper` motor maybe ?). - The motor listed at the end of the video is 670 KV which I believe is sold by JP for this model but this 670 motor has a spec for a 5-6 `S` lipo moto (and weighs a lot more than the one in the video, if the video one is a `Thumper` brand !) and the New panic model spec & its online instruction manual says to use a 4S lipo - i.e. not a 5S or 6S size. So please clarify which motor is recommended to use with this new Panic aircraft AND if the `670 KV JP` one, will give enough power for `3D` flying on 4S - OR - if 5S or 5S lipos will fit in the model? Nice re-boot of the Panic - It would be good if a more detailed video with some basic technical info like AUW with Battery , motor and best prop recommendation is shared. would also be good to know how much battery space is there. Also a more aerobatic video to show the full capabilities of the model. A few questions needs to answered like why the rudder servo has been moved back in the fuselage and can the top wing has an option for spoileron like the original avicraft one !
@WeAreJPerkins Жыл бұрын
Recommended motor, battery and ESC are detailed in the spec list at the end of the video. The rudder servo has been moved forward to help achieve the correct C of G with the electric powertrain although there is a hidden servo tray in the tail for use when heavier i.c. engines are fitted. So, best of both worlds. Both the top and bottom wing are equipped with servo mounts which means spoileron control is an option.

@@charlottebrain9352 Good afternoon Charlotte, the full motor specification is 5055-670KV. We've now updated our website to clarify this and thank you for making the point. Ultimately if you purchase the motor that 'is' recommended on our website you'll have a perfect match for the model.

@@bluelagoonfortyfour The motor used on the model in the video is a 760KV outrunner running on a 4S LiPo. The combination provides power enough to hang on the prop and punch out (see video). Certainly if you require more power then a 5S set-up will provide that. The battery bay on the panic will take a pack measuring 125 x 46 x 38mm.

Great heli but the 3 second pushbutton kill function is totally useless/idiotic! If you have an emergency you need to stop the heli instantly. For this reason it is not suitable for indoors and is actually quite dangerous. It would have taken quite a shallow minded engineer to implement this 3 second kill system, oh well the world is full of them now. No debugging of anything these days just put it out there make money and let the public debug it for you then release a shiny brand NEW "MKII" version.

Due to time constraints I wish you could produce a ready built and covered airframe for this model that I dreamt of owning as a child, i'm sick of all the foamies that have flooded the market that have no real character, they have their place but seeing the silhouette of a true built up airframe with see through covering is imo the epitome of this hobby, looks like I'll just have to find the time to build this classic 🙂
