I was in Iraq during this game on my first deployment. I bet $500 with other friends/soldiers and my brother in law. I bleed burgundy and gold. I was doing PT on Tuesday morning when it was live. It was an amazing finish to a disappointing game, until the last 6 minutes.

This game was infuriating for Dallas fans. Never trust a 13 point lead. The Cowboys dominated for more than three quarters of this game, but they never put it away. Skins offense was either stymied or useless the whole game, then in just a few minutes they seized the victory. Parcells should have called a practise immediately after vomiting this one away. An all too familiar tendency of Dallas in those years. Reminiscent of that late 1980's game where Dallas ran up a 20-0 lead on the Eagles in the Vet. Could have put the game out of reach with one TD. Instead, they went to sleep and allowed Philly to come all the way back 24-23. As predictable as the hands on a clock given how soft Dallas was at the time.

Probably because the Cowboys have undergone even bigger embarrassments recently 😂 I will say the line John Madden said at 5:00 reminds me of the Detroit game this past season. They were not about to let that team lose on Jimmy Johnson’s ring of honor ceremony, even if it meant coming up with a bs penalty at the end.

I was working that night and I yelled so loudly that my coworker thought I was crazy! I was so jacked after that game that I couldn’t even sleep when I got off that night. I watched ESPN until 3am that morning!

(Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints got screwed out of the NFC championship for LA, conveniently, when they got hosed on that pass interference call)

When Brunell got sacked there at the end... "end"... I went to bed all dejected and pissed off. The next morning when I was looking over scores I was beside myself, elated, and pissed off that I didn't watch the rest of the game, lol. Almost 20 years later and all I know is Snyder is the worst thing to happen to this franchise, period.
