Alexander Robinson - Movie & TV Reviews

Hello. My name is Alexander Robinson, an online film critic, and entertainment host.

I have been a fan of movies for as long as I can remember. I started reviewing movies on KZread starting in 2012 as a hobby, but I created this channel (formerly known as THE REAL MR. ROBINSON) with the intention to turn it into a career. Since then, I have become a contributor for GEEKED OUT NATION, a voting member of the HOLLYWOOD CREATIVE ALLIANCE, and I've been a guest on channels such as THE REEL REJECTS, ADORKABLE RACHEL, DOUBLE TOASTED, and POPCORN TALK.

My goal is to share my love and knowledge of movies and TV with as many awesome people as possible and hopefully influence you to check out the movies that don't come up in discussion as much as others.

I hope you enjoy my continuous love for movies and TV!!!

    I also know a little bit about what went into the creation of ET's voice. Well... first of all as I already told you, ET's primary voice was provided by: "Pat Welsh", who was an old lady that spoke with a gravely raspy voice who... wasn't an actress but had always wanted to be one back in the old days, and Ben Burtt had run into her at a photo store, and this is back when they weren't certain, on what ET was going to sound like, and Ben was at that photo store and overheard Pat Welsh talking, and noticed that she had such a distinct voice that sounded like no other voice anyone had ever heard before, which is perfect when you're trying to come up with voices for aliens, because you want your alien characters to sound unrecognizable, and so Ben approached and asked her if she would like to be the voice of an alien, and... she agreed. And like I said before, ET's voice was her actual voice. She really did speak like ET in real life, and Ben didn't really modify her voice that much. I mean, he lowered the pitch a little bit, but not much. For the most part, ET's voice, was Pat's natural speaking voice. However, Pat only did all of ET's spoken dialogue. Ben Burtt did use other sources as well to create ET's voice. He used animal sounds to create the sounds of ET's breathing, he brought in one of his old drunk professors to voice ET when he's drunk, one of the sound engineers provided ET's burp sounds, actress Debra Winger provided the breathing for ET when he's running through the forest at the beginning, and Ben even used his wife, because during production of ET, his wife was sick, and one day, she was having trouble breathing in her sleep, and he put a microphone above the bed, and recorded her breathing and used it for ET's sick breathing.

    So as I was saying, I'm not a Big Fat Liar fan, so... it gets on my nerves whenever they play the Big Fat Liar clip during the Flash Flood part of the tour.

    Here's some interesting bit of trivia. Did you know that at one point this was originally gonna be a Disney movie? Yeah, Robert Zemeckis originally tried pitching this film to Disney, but they turned it down because that's back when Walt's son-in-law: "Ron Miller", was running Disney, and he was turned off by the storyline of a mom falling for her time traveling son.

    Cars 2 (2011) is my guilty pleasure. I like watching it just silly it can be with the spy action. But Yes Mater can be annoying at parts, yes there are a lot of thing in the Cars Universe that do make sense at all and Guns and a lot of Cars deaths.😆But I think the animation still looks really good and the voice actors still do a good job. Cars 2 guilty pleasure of mine.

And I even like Cars 2 (2011) as a guilty pleasure. And I went 6 or 7 me and my mom and dad went on road trip vacations to Los Angeles or México almost every summer or Christmas.

    Here a hot take, I’m not a fan of Finding Nemo (2003) and it mainly Dory. I don’t fine her funny and I hate that song Just Keep Swimming. Even as a kid I didn’t like Dory. And that song never get out of my head. And I find it movie to be boring.

    I really like Toy Story (1995) a lot even though the animation is not good at all, mainly the human designs and Scud the Dog look like something out of a bad asylum animated ripoff. But I enjoy the characters and the story. And if I make a Top 30 list of my favorite animated movies growing up I will put Toy Story (1995) at Number 25. Really good movie but I will put the sequels higher.

    I liked this movie a lot. Sure the plot can be a bit flimsy, but the stuff that works helps elevate it, mainly Reynolds & Jackman and their chemistry. And I thought the cameos, similar to No Way Home, did serve a substantial role thematically and knowing the Deadpool movies, it allows them to have fun with the Multiverse concept. 1:20 Also I would say give Loki Season 2 a shot. It’s definitely much better than Quantumania and Secret Invasion and I know you weren’t in love with Season 1 like others were, but I can see Season 2 being up your alley.

  • @AlexanderRobinsonMovieReviews
    @AlexanderRobinsonMovieReviews7 күн бұрын

    I’m conflicted. On one hand, it could be really cool considering how great of an actor Robert Downey Jr. is, and now they he’s older, I feel like he’ll play Doom very differently than he did Stark. On the other hand, I am worried that this is casting is a slight act of desperation. We’ll see what happens. I still give Marvel the benefit of the doubt even if the Multiverse Saga isn’t at the same level as the Infinity Saga and whatever happens, it can’t be worse than every other movie version of Dr. Doom that has come before.

    I watched "1941" a couple times on cable back when it originally came out, I was about 8 or 9. I was aware that it got panned by critics, but I liked it. I haven't watched it in decades, and I just started watching it on streaming (got sidetracked by my phone, decided to watch a review; here I am!). So far, it reminds me of "Temple of Doom" in it's old, old, old-school style😅. A little corny, but I trust Spielberg. I forgot it had Nancy Allen in it. I just watched "RoboCop" and was planning on "Blowout" soon, she's great in those!

    Also one scene in the movie I didn't like was... I didn't like the climax of the film, with the penguins that have rocket launchers on their backs. That crap is straight out of Austin Powers, it just sticks out like a soar thumb, and doesn't really fit the tone of Tim Burton's universe that he created for the film. It's just too silly. Same with this one scene where Batman has the Baterang and he takes out a bunch of Penguin's thugs with it, and then this stupid poodle grabs it. Yeah, I didn't care for that either. So there are times in the film where... it gets like that, and you're like: "OK, that's a little bit too silly."

  • @ryandt2623
    @ryandt262310 күн бұрын

    I will defend one action Batman does in the film, and that's... when he blows up one of The Penguin's henchmen. I know a lot of people called Batman out for that, for committing murder, and called him a serial killer, but... in Batman's defense... he had a ticking time bomb, so... he had to make a choice. He could blow up the henchman, blow up part of Gotham, or blow himself up. Well... obviously, he can't blow himself up, and he can't let part of Gotham get blown up, so... he had no choice but to blow up the henchman. And plus, he wasn't even able to defeat the henchman anyway. Because he punched the guy a couple of times, and it didn't even seem like... the guy even felt it. But I really like that scene when the time bomb is on the henchman, Batman smiles, punches the guy down the sewer, and then the guy blows up. I thought that was badass. And if Batman's a badass, that's fine with me. I don't have a problem with Batman killing people because he killed people in the first few issues. He shot people with a gun, and broke people's necks.

    I've come to realize this, but I'm definitely in the minority when it comes to enjoying this film. I really, really enjoy it. I'm not gonna lie, a large chunk of that is because I am still internally an immature child that loves goofy slapstick humor like this, It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad world and The Blues Brothers. My Mom actually recommended it to me a few years ago because she loved it when she was a kid and she figured that I'd really enjoy it too and she was spot on. I will agree with you that it is Spielberg's weakest film but that's because everything else is so goddamn good, It's still a really enjoyable movie to me on it's own though.
