  I must say, your videos are very informative. I am from Trinidad. I love Europe, being able to experience and learn different cultures, I would be excited to work and live in Sweden. I will be honest; I do not have a degree, but I do have over 20 years of experience in the IT and Customer Service fields and presently focusing on completing my Certified associate in project management (CAPM). I believe that, notwithstanding the fact that there are people that might be better qualified or better suited to some positions, I believe my drive, determination and the ability to adapt to any environment along with my skillset, would prove to be a definite asset to any organization. Is it possible to forward you, my resume? I would be excited for the opportunity to learn and grow as I love challenges.

  I currently reside in Ireland, but I've developed a strong desire to relocate to Umeå, Sweden. However, I find myself uncertain about potential career prospects in Umeå. I'm presently unemployed but actively seeking new employment opportunities. To be candid, I'm aiming to steer clear of the hospitality industry, having accumulated nearly six years of experience in that field. I believe I've gleaned all I can from it and yearn for a fresh start. Back in 2017, I lived in Falun as a student and forged some wonderful friendships. My recent visit to Umeå for a wedding reignited my affection for the country. In fact, the groom generously offered me the opportunity to reside in his spare house for six months without any cost. Sweden's efficiency and overall development appear to outshine Ireland, prompting me to contemplate whether moving is the right decision for me. Currently, I'm in the process of learning Swedish, am fluent in English, and hold a bachelor's degree in History and Politics along with a master's degree in History. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide insights into potential career opportunities in Umeå or nearby cities or towns that would be suitable for someone with my qualifications.

  I moved to Sweden six months ago from the UK but using my Irish passport. It took about 6 weeks to get my personnummer and then another 4 weeks to get my bank account and Bank Id. I work in biotechnology (life science tech) so English is the working language but I am learning Swedish as I love it here and want to make it my home. We definitely need more people who know how to work in Grade A cleanrooms and/or know flow cytometry but there are so many EU applicants, and it's easier to hire EU nationals, that we either hire them or non-EU citizens who are already in Sweden with a visa. If you are a non-EU citizen then I think you would have to be phenomenally talented for an employer to consider going to the trouble of arranging a visa for you. But who knows? Maybe you are. Follow your dreams. They might lead you to this beautiful country.

  All of this is pablum. This is the deal in Sweden. If you are male and have NO engineering degree, forget it. A person who is born in Sweden or went to school there will always get the job over an immigrant. They say they look at skills, etc. etc. but it is garbage. They do not. I have heard all of this drivel for years and never found it to be true.
