  It certainly has many parallels to the Wimbledon 2008 final. A young Spanish ace with just a couple Majors clutching up in a fifth set to earn a first grass Slam and dethrone the established champion & GOAT of the era trying to gain/equal a record for consecutive Wimbledon titles. An upset to remember

  Right up there with the 2008 finals. Very few unforced errors. Djokovic wanting to win all 4 Grand Slams that year. Might be #1 upset of all times.

  2008: Rafa maybe had the best defense the game has EVER seen. Just insane stuff. That defense on match point.... Also the Djokosmash was born. And even in 2008 before Novak truly found himself, he was still very tough to beat. One of his best performances that season in a match he lost.

  I still remember this match. Alcaraz had an ordinary outing that day and made so many uncharacteristic errors. I guess he wasn't ready to win slams till then. Same thing happened at that year's Wimbledon against Sinner...
