I'm curious how different it is getting over obstacles without a clutch and flywheel, comparing just straight throttle to dropping the clutch and blipping up obstacles. Any tips you can share on how to give quick bursts of power with the e motor vs a clutch and flywheel?

I guess the best explanation is you don’t have to wind it up. The power is always there. If you want an instant hit of power just twist the throttle a little harder/faster. It’s all throttle control. I also have short turn throttle. Alta I think 🤔

@@TapioBlue I have a Zero FX, which I love for many things but every once in a while I found myself missing having a clutch and a flywheel I can spin up for more technical climbs. Just curious what others' strategies are for double blipping and jap zapping up rocks. With the clutch and flywheel I feel like I can get the power release just right pretty consistently, but I find with just the throttle control on my Zero I don't have the same measured amount of power.

At the 5:19 mark, before you hit that steep section, are you in the highest power setting for that, or a lower one? A good friend just got an Ultra Bee but he's hurt and can't ride yet. I've been on it in his yard and am real curious about terrain like this on that bike. Thanks for the posts!

We are all super curious to see the range he has riding our single track here in WV. I'll let you know as you are probably curious yourself. You running tubes, or bibs? Are bibs "too heavy" (reduction of range)?

There aren’t many other options. Most other forks are too big and throw off geometry of the bike. You can also revalve stock forks but still not as good as the WP.

Zero. I have regen off. Trails I ride are constant up down and the less drag I have on the bike the better it performs. With regen on its constantly dragging so have to throttle more to get going again. Regen may be good for long mountain downhills but it didn’t help me.

Thanks! Went with XC for the linkage. I rode W’s previously and wanted to try something different, plus this XC has great reviews. I’m very happy with it.

@@keepupwithajones That is why I went XC style was the linkage. Now the trans is the same so it comes down to PDS or linkage. The linkage just fits me better and I do like it in the faster open stuff.

Man, humble is grown in after all the rain we've had! Just curious... Is there a conversion kit for those forks to get rid of the air, like the bigger bikes? I put some older Open Chamber forks on my 150, made ALL the difference

220 lbs. still much smaller and easier to handle than the 300. Just added a 24 300 XC to the stable and it feels gigantic 😂. Basically relearning to ride a fat bike again…

@@keepupwithajones True. My UB has 100/90-19 rear and the stock rear is on the front now and with just the addition of the belt to chain conversion and 50 rear sprocket, still feels much more manageable than the 300.

For the ECR kit they need to be from a KTM or Husky 85, 2020 or newer. Other brand/size forks are usually too long and throw bike geometry.

I didnt sand the bars, instead I took the metal ring out of the control, made a single cut in it with a hack saw then put it back inside the control (just on rear brake side), this allowed it to slide over gnurled section of handle bar. Now I don't have any of those items on bars, only egg rider which opens up. I have the triple and risers for sale on ebay www.ebay.com/itm/135109819354

He put a ton of money into it, KTM suspension, rear shock, battery and had to box weld the swingarm as you could flex it by grabbing the rear tire and pushing side to side. Sold it about a month after finishing build. Never matched the Ultra Bee, even when the UN was bone stock.

Are you able to get the air pressure enough in those forks? Also, planning to go springs? I'm one of the few that don't mined the AER stuff. As for the pump, I like the tusk one better than the WP one. Its easier to access and has a longer nozzle on it so that its easier to get you fingers on to turn because it farther out. I had it for servicing my 13 forks. Someone on a forum pointed that out and it works way better. I was actually thinking of buying the WP easy fill kit, but this works and I already had it. If you can't find your pump it's certainly an option.

Yes, actually run the air on the low end of spec, seems to work best for me 65.5 lbs. bought a tusk digital pump. Works perfectly and good price. 👍

Great stuff! When you upgraded to the 21/18 wheel set did you noticed any tire rubbing or bottoming out on big hits? I wonder if those spacers you put under the front fender helped with that?

No rubbing with 21/18 set up. I’m not sure if the fender spacers made a difference in that. I did it for looks mostly. I just hated the way the front fender pointed down 😂
