    Totally agree with ya man, it's so much more natural to stand up and not worry about "is my foot back far enough?" as I'm riding which sucks to have to think about when I'm riding a wave, no traction is freedom for sure, great videos man

    Haha it’s like the movie Inception - the idea got placed in my brain and grew. In the end though I’m glad I returned it as I went the ZV-E1 route as a B-Cam for my a7siii and I’ll say - it’s a great camera! It has better auto-focus, nice and light, and a few new features (like the Auto Frame Stabilizer) that are really cool. Thanks for the comment and take care - I still recommend MPB all day.

    Heres the deal. Thats one of the best reviews ive seen on KZread. As others do, i have story. Im 64. Bedtime back issues for about 14 years. Lower and mid back unfortunately. I need a firmer mattress for my lower back and a softer mattress for my mid back. So im pretty much screwed. Lol. Ive tried probably 7ish mattresses in the last 14 years. My latest mattresses have been a Tempurpedic cool breeze which i returned..too firm. A Purple Premier firm...less firm then the Tempurpedic. This bed was super close to giving a good night sleep but was just off enough requiring me to continue my search. That bed was so close i did the full 100 day trial but sadly exchanged it for a restore soft. Last night was my first night with the soft. Not good due to lower back. Ugh. I will try it for a couple weeks. I have 30 days on the return but not looking promising. Purple has been awesome working with me. The customer service so far is top shelf. Im curious what you went with and if you are happy with it. The reason i avoid brick and mortar stores is the hassles ive had in returns. Thanks again

  • @TravisVarga
    @TravisVargaКүн бұрын

    Thanks for your comment and positive feedback. I’m sorry you are dealing with the bed/back issues. I can definitely relate and I wouldn’t wish it on my enemies. So in the end I kinda went a pretty weird route lol. I exchanged this Purple bed for a ‘Luxery Firm Sterns and Foster Hurston.’ It felt the best out of all the other in the store - and I thought firm enough. Fast forward a couple months, and the bed was already feeling too soft. But I was past my return policy. Woops. So I went on a sleep-style research binge and ended up creating a pillow fort and somewhat changing my sleep style (from ‘stomach’ to more ‘side sleeping.’) The ‘pillow fort’ really helped. Essentially a pillow between my legs, one behind my back, on to lean into on my stomach. My bed looked like one of those magazine covers with 10 throw pillows haha. Fast forward a few more months and the bed was just getting softer and softer. My pillow fort was working less and less. I ultimately moved the bed to the floor, which did help. Then I started reading about ‘Latex’ and how it’s naturally firmer than memory foam or any normal poly foam. I ended up ordering some ‘Sleep on Latex’ firm toppers and put them on top. This helped, but the cushion above the springs was still too soft. So I literally cut out all the memory foam and poly foam out of the bed, so it was just springs. Then I put the 2 latex firm toppers on the springs - essentially doing a DIY mattress build with coils and latex. I also put the bed back on my frame and added a slated bunk board between the springs and frame. This helped a lot to keep it firmer and less sag into the frame. This ultimately is what I am sleeping on since this Springtime and I can finally say, this along with my ‘pillow fort’ has resulted in finally sleeping well and waking up generally pain free. It was a nightmare of a process and I don’t care my bed is basically a Frankenstein monster of materials cause it’s working. I do not look forward to the next time I have to mattress shop again. My advice would be to check out Latex and see if you can find one that has ‘zones’ - top area firm, middle soft etc - as those do exist. The toppers and the beds both have options. I also think you need ‘springs’ in the bed as all foam beds just don’t have enough support. Good luck as you continue. Check out Sleeponlatex.com or another latex brand with the sections like I mentioned. Thanks again for the great feedback and good luck sir. I agree Purple’s customer service was good and even Mattess Firm brick and motor had good service. The whole bed buying process is a giant scam in the end. It’s a couple materials and all the companies use buzz words etc. The bed in a box phenomenon hasn’t helped and now people buy site unseen based on marketing bs. Nightmare fuel haha. Take care!

    its all bs. fins, rail shape, concave or vee. how about rail bumps or wings. we need to pay attention to rocker. the average surfer on average waves won't feel the difference. Then what about an asymetric tail? So much going on. just find one that feels okay and go from there.

  • @TravisVarga
    @TravisVarga7 күн бұрын

    Hey thanks for the comment. Haha yea they are hipstery enough to get organic fruit from the market lol. Although I’d have to disagree on their waterproofing being bad in general, as I have found them to be plenty waterproof, and decently snowproof. They dry out fast for me too - so unsure if you got a dud or maybe our standards are different. I take out the insoles and prop them up when I dry them - and I usually rinse them off with water after the beach and they dry up quick overnight. Which brand are you gonna try next, or maybe give this another shot? Either way appreciate the feedback.

    its heavily recommended not to use the 8k settings due to the slower sensor readout causing very bad rolling shutter effect (jello-y motion or banding under led's). realistically thers no need to record above 4k24p or 4k30p with shutter set to double the frame rate for normal footage to look the most natural. that being said, the a7R cameras arent video centric cameras, photography with that massive 61mp sensor is the primary purpose.

  • @TravisVarga
    @TravisVarga9 күн бұрын

    Agree with you. In good lighting and on a tripod though, the 8k from the Sony A7R V is a step above 4k. You can notice the difference (I've used the a7s iii since 2020 and right away, the 8k looks more detailed and crisp). Sometimes that extra sharpness and detail isn't a good thing though (video wise) - as can up the digital-ness that some people don't like. But I found the footage to be a lot better than expected. All the caveats of course though as you mentioned - and in the end, it's a photo first camera. Excellent B Cam to a more video-centric model. Thanks for the comment.

    You're right, very similar in board outline, but def different in how it will ride. The nose on the Machadocado is not as wide, the tail isn't as wide either. The outline stays a bit more straight. Also this 5'10 is about 38 liters. The Potato's at this size are around 44/45 L. Seems Firewire now has streamlined the Potato series to the 'Sweet Potato' - which has the swallow tail and 5 fin. So perhaps this is the 'new' Baked Potato, but I think a good bit more performancy - and the fact it's a tri fin means it will surf a lot more in the pocket. Looking forward to trying the Sweet Potato soon.

    For sure, thanks for the comment. I hear you on the sizing, I tend to like my boards generally a bit bigger. I’m in good shape but age, wear and tear = volume and paddle power are my best friends and I prioritize them over performance. I once tried to size down my Pod Mod back in the day (to 5’6) and just didn’t like the lack in paddle power, so prob still traumatized from that lol. Dark Arts boards rip, I’m sure you love yours. I like the extra push, weight, and speed the extra dimensions of a board can give you also. To each their own though and in the end - whatever gets you in the water, catching waves and enjoying the experience is all that matters.

    Yeah. Not a red widow spider. A red widow spider has fiery red cephalothorax and legs with a black and red abdomen. This is a red orb weaver. Also, the red widow is EXTREMELY hard to find. You would have to be out in the palmettos of Florida to find them. And, that is if you are lucky to do so. They are actually one of the least populated widow species in North America. EDIT: I wanted to add. If you do find one, and that is a big IF, you don't want to risk a bite. The neurotoxin that it produces can, and has, cause lifelong torment. The toxin binds to your central nervous system causing symptom to reoccur for the rest of your life. Not a good idea to mess with them.

    Cool and nice on the progression. It’s a bit tricky cause I initially would say it’s not really best for moving onto smaller boards, as its more nimble then they advertise. But if you size it if enough maybe. I’ve had boatier boards for sure. ButI think 6’0 could be big enough, but maybe even 6’2. Or if you wanna cruise more like a Midlength style on a smaller board, I’d suggest the Seaside in 6’0, esp if you are you or a back foot surfer and like quad.
