1/3 blood volume still in placenta so I agree wait until the placenta is out. Also increased iron stores that will help prevent nb anemia.

I have tons of daily Braxton hicks and some cramping. But it's happened with every pregnancy. I've tried so many things to stop it. In past pregnancies, they even gave me ivs and it didn't help. All my babies came around 39 weeks. I've been told I just have an irritable uterus. But I'm 23 weeks with twins now and it's stressful 😫

I’m currently 20 weeks, 3rd baby and the 1st trimester was very difficult this time around. Not able to do anything, achy body barely surviving but I did get through it.

I'm 35 weeks and the past 3 ultrasounds have put my baby measuring bigger (this will be my first baby). I have another US at 37w. I don't have GD (reading was a 67) and I eat pretty well! Sometimes maybe too many desserts haha. I'll find out in 2 weeks if I'll need a C section 😬

This is an amazing video! Thank you for this! I was told I have a big baby, they now scheduled me for an induction, I'm 40weeks. i'm 4'11 and hubby is 6'5. So, idk. I'm still gonna try to do it naturally. My first one was just 7.1lbs it was 9yrs ago though. I know I can do this! I will take my worries away! Update: I gave birth to a healthy baby, he's 9 lbs and 4 oz, vaginal delivery. I pushed for 40 minutes. Thank God! If you set your mind into it, you can really do it!!!

I didn't have any ultrasounds with my children, but I can't shake the fear that something would have been caught on a scan that we have missed, such as a problem with an organ. They are all healthy, but I worry I should have done differently.

My midwife failed me. My first birth experience was a planned home birth turned hospital birth due to a cervical lip that wouldn’t budge until the car ride to the hospital. I agonized at a 9.5cm for 6+ hours. Contractions were every 60 seconds lasting 60-90seconds for the duration of 6+ hours and after screaming bloody murder for the last 2 hours I said I need to go to the hospital. 10 minutes in the hospital and baby was born, however it was very traumatic. I tore up, tore my labias and clit off and needed to be put under right after birth due to the tear / repairs needed. As soon as we got to the hospital I had 4 nurses holding me down, one at each limb, and the Dr at the end telling me to push as fast and hard as possible. I know the Dr did this because I came in screaming like a banshee and she knew the quickest way out of my misery was for baby to be born. But it happened much too fast. Baby was only in the birth canal for 3 contractions and normally they are in the birth canal for 30min-2 hours. After the birth my midwife apologized and said she should have made the call herself to take me to the hospital and should have done it 4 hours before I felt like I was going to die. I’m pregnant again and burnt. I hear these great stories and cry. I read all the books, drank the teas, paid for the homebirth/midwife and I was left with a terrible experience. An experience that left me feeling like my body failed me and I can’t do it again, but really my midwife failed me. Makes me very sad….😢

So how do you actually become a direct entry midwife? I have found my calling in this field and I just completed training to be a doula and am looking to also complete birth attendant training but am highly interested in being a direct entry midwife. I don't really agree with regulations and licensing because I am a voluntarist and libertarian but I don't want to get into trouble either. I'm in Tennessee how do I learn what the requirements are here and where do you go to get insurance?

My sister is currently having a home birth right now and I’m anxiously waiting news. It’s stressful after 2 of my 3 births were not straight forward. One sever shoulder dystocia resulting in an emergency delivery (5kg baby) and my third didn’t produce surfactant in his lungs so it was a rush to ICU when he pretty much stopped breathing. Neither of these scenarios could have been predicted and I can’t imagine being at home for these births. I have everything crossed for my sister!

Bad story about your father-in-law, I would be so pissed about that and with my husband too. My parents already express their desire to be at the hospital and I don't want them there so I told my husband that we don't call anybody until baby is out. No news, nothing, they will have to wait for our cue.
