    I've seen other guys have the same problem, it's herd to sustain interest in something over such a long time. If you set a schedule for yourself, and do something on the project at that time, even if it's something little, that is said to help. You see progress, and it helps keep the motivation up. I have that problem with some of the projects around our house. There are a lot of things, little things, that I need to do. It's been very hectic lately, but I just have to do one thing, and then another. Best of luck, you're really doing a great job. If you go to a car show or two, you may even find someone who can put you in contact with a good body guy who can help you out. Then you can get to other parts of the project that excite you. All the best to you.

    Every car enthusiast loses interest from time to time. I'm no exception. I'll get all into them for a while, spend money, add more parts, fix things, and then I lose interest. 😂. The cycle repeats. I can imagine how nice your truck will look painted.

    I just did one of these reverse chain cases blind, pretty straight forward if you take your time. But now I'm watching some videos. I just pushed that spring in by hand using a deep well socket with a bolt inside of the socket to start the bolt in there. Problem I'm having now is fork location and adjustment, and I think I'm missing a clip that holds the rod onto the fork. Buddy said reverse never worked since he got it and he fried the chain.

  • @snowking55
    @snowking557 ай бұрын

    Sounds like you may need to adjust the chain in the chain case. Mine will make a clunk when shifting from forward to reverse and back again. Just don't give it a lot of gas when making the change.

  • @badruby
    @badruby7 ай бұрын

    @@snowking55 jess. my guess would be a terrible chain. Men it feels like the "slam" is comming at the left foot. where the secondary is. so i dont know... im allways carefull on the gas until it "Hooks". but even then the slam feels right into my soul. it sounds terrible.

I have a 36 GMC pick up t-14, flathead 6cyl .I thought i could imitate your steps in restoring but your talent is way above my ability, I enjoy your explanations as you video your progress I now have the Lazor Auto restoring the 36... Chuck the owner of the shop is a experienced with restorations, & fabricating my decision is to hot rod it! rat rod it The 36 still has the original 3 speed tran & 6 cyl in it, and we are determined to get it running, the last time i believe it ran was 2010 back in Ky. family farm if i figure a way to send pics i will

  • @snowking55

    Thanks for watching. I'm sorry I haven't put up any recent videos on my progress, I need to get back at it. I thought about making it into a street rod, but everything was there, so I decided to keep it original. And believe me it's way easier to work on the old stuff compared to sticking an LS motor in it and dealing with the wiring, along with other issues you would run into. Having a shop do it is the way to go. But I enjoy the restoration, it just gets to a point where I don't know anything about what I'm doing, but I just try anyway. Thanks for watching and following along.

    I hope to get it fixed soon. The hydraulics went out and I'm getting the controller rebuilt and possibly the pump if I have to. So it should be ready before winter. At least you didn't flip yours, that was pretty scary after I thought about it. It could of rolled over on me with it still running, that wouldn't of been good.
