Over more than 100 years, Gränsfors Bruks AB has built up a business based around handcrafted axes and axe expertise, with a focus on quality and environmental responsibility. Today, 30 people work here in production and sales. 80 percent of the production is exported to 30 countries.
When it comes to the quality and feel of the axes, much depends on the experience and skill of the individual craftsman. Each axe is signed with the smith's initials as a guarantee of quality.
The company is located in the Swedish village of Gränsfors in northern Hälsingland, around 10 km west of the E4 motorway, between Hudiksvall and Sundsvall. The forge sits at the heart of the village and you can hear the rhythmic pounding as you approach.

Grandsfors Bruks have good axes but this company is a proud member of the agenda 2030. This is why i never will buy an axe from them.
Ok so not quite the personal touch they'd have us believe. I imagined guys with hammers on a forge
wonderful axe! But it's too expensive in china.
I own 6 agdor 2kg axes and they are a ripper of an axe

I have the Wildlife Hatchet!👍 Beautiful and high quality! I took it in the forest with me for years now!

I'm just an Arborist, who's appreciates a really good hand made tools.. I still own and use that hatchet .. its 2024 now Joe form California ..
Listened to it 20 times tryinb to figure out how to pronounce it. Is it Gran-sorsh? Is it Sorsh or Shors?
Gran forsh
Say the word Granny but replace y with s. For the second part, its close to the word Force. Grann-s force.
Halfators and Bruk same producing product
Produk gransfors sungguh luar biasa menurut pemakainya. Tp mungkin (maaf) terlalu mahal bagi kami diindonesia. Salam
Your alls 20 year warranty is a sham. My scanandavian forest axe came with deep grind marks on both sides of the edge, at the top on one side and towards the bottom of the other side. I reached out to you all and I basically was told, "Sorry you got screwed". Enjoy my $228 dollars crooks
Wake up the worker who is responsible for quality control. I bought your ax with such a crooked head that my hands fell off. You tell stories about quality control in your films, and I can buy a better assembled ax in Tesco for 15 Euro.
Go away, fool

Varfan ligger Gränsforsbruk, får man åka o titta?

Can you do a video how-to with the sharpening stone from nature?
Bra idé med initialer på yxan
Just purchased the Hunters Axe. Been on my list for a few yrs now...
Really nice axe
I have a TT on my Scandinavian forest axe, has served me well for 10 years now.
They are a work of art. Every time I handle one I can feel the difference, Gransfors Bruk is the best ❤️🇺🇸
Whoever makes their leather sheaths is not doing his/her job very well. The fasteners on mine fell apart the second time I used the axe..
Black smith ?
It's the steel used to make GB tools which make them a pleasure to use. I have the carving axe and the carpenter's axe. I am missing the small gutter adze which is very hard to find, and the broad axe. I am left eye dominant so I could use either a left or right bevel, but I probably would prefer a left bevel. A straight eye is fine for me, and later I could hang a canted handle.
Can also just buy the same stuff in a hardware store too.
Great video!
At 2:35, probably not a good idea to hammer hardened steel into hardened steel, I know it's not good for the axe.
Right. It's the only time a hammer touches they're axes. And they call them hand forged 😂
The video clearly says that’s part of way they test it for strength. Your ignorant head could use the same test. It’s ridiculous hearing a nobody tell a master how to do his job.
😂😂hows your axe company do it?
Yeah, I’m sure a company that had been making axes for over 120 years doesn’t know what they’re doing.
@@CageThePeopleso it's reasonable to hammer a big chunk of hardened steel into a thin bit of hardened steel? Is it good for it or not so good? You do have common sense right?
My Scandinavian forest axe has -- on heel and toe -- I believe the softest steel I've ever encountered on any edged tool I've ever used. The edge rolls every time I use it, on every type of wood I've tried. I've lost 2mm from the heel in a week of use from sharpening it, just trying to keep an edge on it. The steel flops from side to side when sharpening like I've never seen before. I contacted GB via their website about it and had no reply. Not impressed.
Were you able to return it?
Danke fürs zeigen 👍
I own several, along with the splitting axe. Best production axes on the market today; worth the extra money. Thank you to everyone at Gransfors Bruk, for your dedication to quality. Best Wishes for continued success.
Outdoor Axe and Scandinavian Axe arrived today and I must comment - I’m impressed. The fit and finish on both is flawless and the edges sharp as a knife. I cannot wait to use them.
I just bought the Scandinavian Forest Axe. I hope it's handle is not too long - we'll see. The Small Forest Axe handle seems just a bit short for two hand use.
I just did the same for the same reason....how are you liking yours? I bought the Scandinavian and an Outdoor axe. Waiting for arrival.
If my life depended on one single tool, I would choose a Gränsfors Bruk over any other manufacturer. They will be the tools of my choice to build my home soon.
Hej! God jul!
Allow me to hear this 1,000 times 8:28 - 8:48
Very nice!
I wanna buy this kit, but I am in the US :(
I have two TT axes. :) I agree, English subtitles would be nice.
I watched despite not speaking Swedish. I agree, English subtitles would be great. Thank you. I love my axe!

What steel? Others say its just 1055
I have two TT axes, the Small Forest Axe purchased years ago and a Wildlife Hatchet purchased recently. Very happy with both!
👍😀
beauty!!!!
I have three of your fine axes and they are my pride and joy. Thank you for making such wonderful tools.
Just ordered a Gränsfors model 1900 broad axe. I can't wait to get my hands on a masterfully crafted axe. Time to square some logs!
