  The Cyclops is basically like a camping tent. It is PERFECT if you wish to temporarily stay somewhere for an expended period of time, mostly for when you're exploring big biomes that go in deeper, and you have a lot to explore, while your stationary base may be far away, the Cyclops allows you to charge your other vehicles and bring a lot of resources. So if you plan on spending a lot of time exploring a large biome that goes VERY deep, bring that big fella with you!

  The only thing i dont like about the cyclops is that sometimes depending on the biome its cumbersome to piolet, plus the sea moth can only go to 900 meters wear the cyclops and prawn can do 1700 which is already better. People just nitpick and find reasons to complain for no reason just enjoy the damn submarine

  I have found a use for this in as far as. I have installed mods that allow me to control the behaviour of the leviathans so they ignore the cyclops, this ensures that I can use it as a base, I can go anywhere, but also keeps the threat alive because when I leave it I get wrecked...

  You are wrong about needing the Cyclops to get the prawn to the depths. I usually play the whole game with just the moth and prawn. Literally only building the cyclops for that one mandatory fabricator item. Really, once you get the prawn there's no need for anything else The key is that you can swap the prawn arms from anywhere, just is free water. So equipping a prawn with two hooks lets you move extremely rapidly across the map, then get to your destination, swap to a drill or whatever else you need, and

  The cyclops isn’t useless. Yes it’s slow but it’s literally a tank:it’s immune to warpers it’s power lasts for ages it regenerates it’s health which it already has alot of and it has all its features AND it has alot of storage AAANNNDDD it’s basically a moving base.

  The Cyclops only takes damage from Leviathans (or running into things), and it's fun to have a fully functional mobile base. It's only useless when you need mobility, as it has none.

  ......Since when has the Cyclops been useless? If anything, it's the most useful craft in Subnautica. I mean, unless I use mods to get something better than it. One of the comments shown in 0:09 claims that the cyclops runs out of power.... Do they not know that upgrades exist for it? It's been a while since I played this game, but I remember using a solar charger when I'm on the surface, and a thermal charger to use in the Lost River and the Lava Zones. Have never seen what the Cyclops looked like when it's out of power.

  Actually useless items (imo) -Repulsion cannon (propulsion is way better and more useful) (And if you need an actual weapon, use the knife+stasis) -Torpedo launcher, seamoth or prawn. (Torpedoes miss more than half the time and doesn't deal a lot of damage, just ram a creature and repair or use a drill arm) -still suit (At the time I find it, I usually already have marblemelons, bulbo trees, or the water filter machine for all my liquid needs, plus I need the reinforced suit way more) -Recharging fins (Ultra glide fins are way better, and at the point you find it, diving by hand is a rare occasion, AND if you do dive a lot by hand, the ultra glide is a light year ahead) The last 2 would be super useful if the blueprints were found in early stage areas like seaglide fragments or seamoth, but you can still use them... Mostly, but torpedoes are still trash. AND THE TOP 1 TRULLY USELESS ITEM: microscope (non functional) Honorable mentions to any decorative item for base building plus coffee and vending machine, I love them both either way.

  You are forgetting what is perhapse the cyclops’ biggest strong point: warpers cannot teleport you out of it. this makes some crucial areas of the map easier to bypass or explore.

  Having just finished subnautica, i honestly could not work out why i would want to use it. Unless you are planning to build bases everywhere in which case its going to be a real time saver when moving materials. But two bases was enough for me anyway. The Prawn suit is just much better suited to the later areas of the game.

  I'm a big fan of the Cylops for many reasons. First of all, I love having access to a bed, melon crops, and a fabricator anywhere on the planet. As for storage, sure the Seamoth can have 4 tiny storage modules, but I usually put 8 large chests in the Seamoth. Add a Prawn suit and, instead of mining for particular items, I can basically go strip mining and turn 10 trips with a Seamoth into one trip with the Cyclops. As for the complaint that it costs too much, that kind of proves the value of the Cyclops. It only seems to cost so much because it would take mining for materials with a Seamoth a lot longer than it would if you had a Cyclops already. I didn't get the energy cost complaint either. By the time I'm building a Cyclops I typically have a chest full of unused spare batteries. So I typically carry spare power cells. Add a power cell charger at my base, or park above a volcano while mining, and I never have issues with power. I like all the stuff you can get in Subnautica. It's the reason it's one of the best games in its genre.

  Dude yhr cyclops is the best vehicle, once you havr it you dont need a base except for a scanner room and charging station. Also materials are easy to get snd uou have sll the time in the world to obtain them. Just build 3 sets of power cells. And a couple charging bases you shoild never need more cells than ,18. Pretty much once I have the cyclops and prawn drill and grapple arm. I tear down my initial base and move to the tree cove or central chamber of lost river. Intear

  You can use a thermal reactor to charge the cyclops near heat and you can build power cell chargers to charge the power cells themselves so I don’t see it actually being useless. Also it’s fun to drive.

  I never actually had a energy problem, i just have engine efficency module and the heat generator so when im down to the lost river and lava zone my base is basiclly usseles because my cyclops recharges by itself and recharges my vehicles too , but f*ck thoose little power draining sh*ts in the lava zone

  Personally, I never used it as a base, but as a storage unit with the benefit of getting my prawn suit to the lost river/lava zones. But it‘s just as, if not more convenient, to get the prawn suit down by itself. Plus, you can just add storage units to your vehicles. The best use I got out of it is filling it with indoor growlers and farming Chinese potatoes galore, but for food you can just bring a hot knife and eat a lava boomerang or smth. Overall, it just feels pretty cool and looks pretty cool, but that‘s about it.

  @@sasquatchferus8107 Full tunned prawn suit*. Normal prawn suit is uselles but once you start tunning it - its best vehicle. Tunned prawn suit can climb and walls, move faster than seamoth, carry many items, be good for fighting and many else. Just carry some of upgrades in inventory( they take only 1 slot ). After i got prawn i never used seamoth. I used cyclops only for getting its shield to complete game.

  I built that on my first playthrough, and it was utterly useless. It took you to the surface at the speed I could swim up with only the basic flippers. Them I played below zero and needed more air in the twisty caves and was tired of eating bladderfish and loosing water to do so. So I made one of those and then accidentally right clicked while holding it once. It shot me to the surface like a bullet. I never played without it in Below Zero ever again. Now that I've started a new playthrough of Subnautica on a PC that can actually handle it, I have been using the air bladder as much as possible. They actually made this little peice of rubber so useful now.

  useless? no. practical? also no. using it as a mobile base is just asking for a loss. because it is a vehicle (once destroyed, you lose everything in it) and it's so good at attracting attention (even at slow speed, it screams attack me at every aggressive creature in its vicinity) and it has no defensive capability (sure, it can deploy decoys but what if you're out of decoys at the moment? this still doesn't account for if the decoy itself even works at all and even if it does, you're still not out of the woods due to its massive size, slow speed and clunky controls). apart from being a requirement to finish the game (which can't really count as a use), the only justifiable use of cyclops is roleplaying.

  The P.R.A.W.N. operated with a tiny bit of skill and a grapple hook can outpace the sea moth. with that and the fact that only the lava zones are deep enough underwater to warrant the use of a P.R.A.W.N. or cyclops there isn't a point to using the prawn. Set up a small base near the mountain island and you can use the teleporters to instantly warp to and from the lava zones in seconds. As for safety the P.R.A.W.N. is better for that too since you can fight off leviathans with its fists. In almost every metric the cyclops is worse than just using the P.R.A.W.N. I litterally never craft it until I need to make the rocket.

  I dont even need to watch the rest of this video to say those comments are wrong lmao As long as you're not a bloody cretin, the Cyclops is a brilliant vehicle to pilot. More manoeuvrable than it has any right to be, and much more invisible to leviathans than it has any right to be. Of course, with the right mods too and a few ion batteries. People who say it's useless piloted it for five minutes and got it destroyed.

  The map is not large enough for the Cyclops to be useful. I much prefer a habitat with more space and customization, along with the feeling of 'home.' You say it is difficult to get a PRAWN down to the Lava zone without the Cyclops, but it is vastly easier without the Cyclops. On top of all of this it takes a lot of resources to make.

  If they would add the ability to apply upgrades to it so it could self-charge its batteries on solar or something then it would be fine. I can work around the other stuff but the crap power cell system is killing it for me
