    Not using the syringe means there is no pressure to force resin between layers. Your just filling the holes......

    A great watch, caravan damp is the thing of nightmares. I have always thought there must be a way to build in basic damp/water ingress metres at the manufacturing stage and them being activated through the caravans electrical system. I had bad damp in a Swift and very early stage in an Adria, the Swift was 10 years old the Adria 4. Both were indistinguishable from new. The Swift turned out to be a basket case the Adria repaired under warranty.

The unscrupulous previous owner had however simply boarded over the rot and hid it from sight. The matching boards were very close ! We had no option but to rebuild the back end. Lots of hard work and I think the constant noise must have driven next door bonkers but...we did it ! 👍 I'd love to know where it is now 🤔

  • @garrysgaragebuilds
    @garrysgaragebuilds Жыл бұрын

    Thank you. You only drill through the first layer of ply and insulation. I was able to feel the resistance on the drill as I came against the bottom layer of ply. You could also find out the depth of your floor and mark it on your drill so you don’t go all the way through. Otherwise you’ll just loose all your adhesive through the bottom of the van 😂

    why do you need more room between the engine and firewall? plan on going single turbo one day? did you port the 2.7 intake manifold to match the larger 2.8 intake ports on the head? if not going forced induction, what advantage does the 2.7 manifold have over the 2.8? im just curious why you did all this work. nice job.

  • @garrysgaragebuilds

    Thanks for watching and for the comment. Yeah as I said in the video I plan on going single turbo. Using the 2.7 manifold means the throttle body is now at the front, freeing up space at the back. No I didn’t port match them. It wasn’t really that much work.

    Thanks for the video. Did you find where the water was coming in from? We've just bought a doer upper, a bit newer than yours as it has a flat roof. Water has gotten in somehow as the front ceiling is a bit saggy and the wall next to the door has gone exactly like yours. The door frame at the bottom of the wall has actually come away from the floor slightly. I had a quick look on the roof and it is perfect, so must be seals around the aerial and roof-lights I suppose. More investigating tomorrow.
