Hi I have been a medical assistant since I graduated ma school but I have never took the CMA test to be a CMA. It’s been 15 years since I graduated. I know that you have to graduate from a ma school in order to take the CMA/AAMA. Am I still qualified to take this test?
Very helpful Ms K!! Thank you very much!!
Hello, Kansas City and a student.
I’ve tried these things. It seems where I am, people don’t want you to hire without experience. Externship experience isn’t enough.
Soo are you not certified as a phlebotomist with medical assistant??
Technically, no. Although as a medical assistant, you do phlebotomy, the actual certification is separate. If you are already a certified medical assistant, you don’t have to get certified as a phlebotomist, but it is highly recommended if you want to stack your credentials to be more marketable and to stand out.
@@MedicalAssistingwithMsK Oh ok, because i want to do both. I thought about taking phlebotomy first then medical assistant. Its just the amount of money for both. Im in ga and phlebotomy is like $2500 at a technical college/non technical. At the technical college you have to take other course before you start the actual program. In all its about a year. Those other classes can be transferred over to medical assistant/Lpn. Im kinda stuck on which way to go. Ive been told medical assistant is good to take, it makes Lpn course alot smoother. Im trying to figure out which way to go. Technical or a program like the one your guest offers without the core classes.
@@lokeyborders Yeah, you just need to decide what you want your end goal to be and that will determine whether you go to the college or a program. As far as phlebotomy, don't worry about taking the course because you'll learn that as an MA and you will also be eligible to get certified as a phlebotomist once you're finished your MA program. You can do that through NHA.
@@MedicalAssistingwithMsK Oh ok. Thank you for responding.

Hi Ms. K! Just wanted to let you know I took my MAA exam this weekend and I passed with a 417 🎉 I only used your videos to study + my work experience as a MAA. Thank you so much for your help! 💜 I do have a question though. The NHA hasn’t asked me to provide proof of employment as a MAA. Do you know if they eventually ask for proof or do they just kind of trust that you’re telling the truth? lol
Ms.K I wanted to let you know that I used your videos and I passed my CCMA with a 401🫶🏽🥳

I'm from MI , Taking CCMA AND CMAA test. First test July 9. Your videos have been sooo appreciated as an older student it's nice and easy and sometimes necessary to watch multiple times.
Ms K - I took the Med Term test for CMA and got 72% It’s much harder than I thought it would be - it’s also HOW to spell words correctly and what is incorrectly spelled. I didn’t see online the % needed to pass - I see people get 400’s out of 800?!? The passing rate for the 4 main exams is 58% which is not encouraging. ❤😅
I would like to thank you a lot. I took my CCMA exam today and I pass 🎊 🎉
😊😊😊 Mrs., k. Just wanted to let you know on the exam. Wasn't too many of your questions which is okay.😊 Just want you to know that some of the questions were on the exam. Thank you so much for your information. And I passed with a 408.
I’ve been a CMA for a year now. I’m going to school for LPN. Best decision I’ve made
My test is on Monday. Thank you for your videos
