  You must read the description of the post where I been stated the use of Pole Vault stalling on tallnut. It has multifunctional purpose, if player going to play without ices, also because the row 3 imps would easily gnaw the cobs. The gloom-shroom would start to attack the pole vaults but they can't hit the pole vaults due to the range hitbox(where it allows the glooms to attack endlessly). The landing of imps right after the Gargantuars throw, the dmg. would be dealt onto them much quicker and easily take imps down.

  Hitori Dakeno wants to challenge himself to play such a setup what you have seen these days, backthen Hitori Dakeno setups are bad because of various reasons like, his setup would consume enormous amount of sun and somewhat lacking of stability of the setup itself. That is not related on Sideless-Fire and Ice setup, I have simply seen that setup from Bilibili China PvZ and played too, playing such a symmetrical setups sometimes gaves me no thrill, and for mainly reasons making asymmetrical setups are actually makes the setup itself more resisted on certain zombies like Jack-in-the-box, that was my insight I could gave to you :)

Whenever I place gloom shrooms to the far right in the pool I always die to jack in the box. I will try it myself, but can you say anything more about why an asymmetrical build is more resistant to that, since the problem (I think) is that the jack in the box kills glooms in the pool?

  ​@@bobbootyThere are methods called "Jack Supression" (taking down Jacks that would harm any plants by using of Ice then the shooting plants or any explosives plants kill them) in asymmetrical formation of any setups on pool endless, there are sleeping Ice-shroom stack, places on the spots where zombies wouldn't able to harm them. Mostly the setups are not symmetric because of sacrificing the dps on certain areas to place sleeping Ice then later on we will use coffee bean to wake them up, every new coming waves they would suppressed any zombies on screen. It doesn't means every symmetrical formation are unstable, there are still few symmetric setups that would be resisted on Jack explosion. I usually brought imitator Ice shroom and normal Ice shroom seed packets also because they were so useful on both cobless and cobbed setups too. Hope that would gave you an idea :)
