  hi , my ISP offers up to 2.5, and I want to surf up to 2.5 if I put my ISP in a 2.5 wan port, and then I put my PC's Ethernet LAN in a 10 gigabit, download at 2.5? ps: my motherboard supports 2.5 lan, thanks

  If you have the main router supports Guest Portal and you aimesh it to a asus router that doesn't support Guest Portal will the Guest Portal ssid broadcast to the routers that doesn't support Guest Portal or only to the main router? Example: AX86U Pro as main and 3 AIMesh AX86U(NOT Pro) Nodes?

  Hi, this might be a dumb question because I’m still wrapping my head around all this networking stuff. I have just bought 2 Amplifi Alien routers and planned to use the Vodafone router as a modem only. Unfortunately the VF router does not support bridge only / modem mode. In this video though you seem to be able to just remove it from the equation altogether. I was under the assumption a modem would still be needed. Does your router have one built in? Or can I skip the modem altogether. Sorry if this is dumb Edit - potentially have answered myself. Appears fibre ONTs have a modem so should be able to connect directly to a router?

  I've just got a twin pack of these and the internet goes completely down each morning between 6am and 7am. Even after a hard reset! Wired and wireless devices completely stop working and connecting to the SSID keeps saying invalid key even though it's correct. It starts working again after I reboot it but then breaks again the following morning! I'm thinking I've got a faulty unit.

  It may not show up sometimes on mobiles as the drop down gets get off. Please try using chrome/edge/safari web browser. Or if you have only a mobile/tablet then choose the desktop mode.

  The chip does need some cooling, but if you have enough air flow and are not a heavy WiFi user then you could probably not need it.

  The issue I have is when using vlans, my IoT devices and security cameras are inaccessible unless I enable internet access, which defeats the purpose. I do not like for any of my security cameras to have internet access, but using vlans, they become inaccessible from main network unless I give them internet access.

  On the advice of ASUS techs, I needed to do a factory reset on my GT-AX11000 because I could not automatically update the firmware. I downloaded the newest firmware, unzipped it and saved the file. I did the factory reset, logged into the web GUI, and tried to manually upload the firmware. It did not work. Not only did it not work, my wifi wasn't working. After watching your viceos, I looked at each wifi frequencies and noticed that they all were using the same MAC address. I'm sure this is a big issue. My phone will not see any of the wifi networks except the 2.4g. Any idea how to fix these issues?

  On the advice of ASUS, I had to do a factory reset because I was unable to download the most current firmware. I downloaded the latest firmware and unzipped it. I did the factory rest, and tried to manually update the firmware. No go. It didn't update to the latest firmware. Now my wifi isn't working. I discovered that the same MAC address has been assigned to all 3 frequencies (2.4, 5-1, 5-2). Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

  I've had a horrible experience with the XT9 - incredibly unstable. It has now completely stopped working - resetting does nothing. The one positive is the 1 year warranty in which getting a refund through Amazon was an incredibly easy process. Still regret the many hours I spent on troubleshooting this though. Apparently a lot of Redditors are having similar issues.

  Hi great video, question regarding Vodaphone Home Phone / SIP/VOIP phone, I want to put in my 3rd party router but Vodaphone will not tell me with the SIP/Voip registration information so I cannot use my Asus router and more importantly cannot connect my Home phone SIP ;one to my Telephony switch that supports SIP/VOIP (Gigabit N300A IP) Is there another way of getting around this ?

  Hi great video. Quick question. 13:26 If we configured all the routers bands to use same SSID, do we still need to enable the AiMesh WiFi function, or keep it to default Router Mode? The second node already has strong wireless backhaul to the main router. And I only have one main router and one secondary router.

  It would be best to still enable the Asus AiMesh even if you have same SSID across the routers. I only say this because this will help with better QoS support and WiFi handover support when moving across the routers with a device like a mobile or tablet.

  Yes you can just type the IP address for the router 192.168.50.1 in to your phones web browser and login. If it does not display correctly most mobile web browsers have an option to enable desktop mode which you can use.

  I tried & failed: but what I did find was that adding the old Wireless network ID & password to my new router, worked a treat! Happy days again - without having to add nearly 20+ wireless connections one by one.

  Hello mate my old vodafone router took a dump. I got 500mb pure fibre service what I wanted to ask is this a general all round good router I don’t game but need something reliable and will last. The wife works upstairs on a window pc I got a iPad smart tv and 2 mobiles. The old shit router coped ok but is now dead. Just need a decent unit

  Best to check first if you have VOIP home phone like I do with your Vodafone connection. AS this means its very difficult to swap out the standard Vodafone router as it uses this for the phone line. But if you do not then swapping the router for any Asus WiFi 6 or 6e router would be better and they last for years and get current updates for along time. This is the reason I like them.

  is there a way to create a type kill switch for clients that need to use the VPN setup only? I don't want some clients to ever go through the WAN interface - only through VPN?

  All connections have to go though the WAN connection, but if you specify which devices have to go via the VPN connection then these devices will only send/receive data via the encrypted VPN connection and see that IP address / Country if changed.
