Welcome to Not Real Engineering. This is a channel focused on computational solid mechanics.
The main aim of this channel is to help undergraduate and graduate students studying mechanical/civil/materials engineering.

Thank you for the very nice explanation. The vibrations amplitude after 190th step is still the same which seems wrong. It should be decreasing as a real case scenario.
Hi, in abaqus in CP the results like stress are displayed in the local coordinate system of each point. Do you know field lf stress in the gui are then in the global coordinate system

Great video! I was wondering if there is any way of turning the reinforcement material into voids? I'd like to take the inclusion spheres and remove the geometry from the matrix cube. Please let me know if this is possible/ if there is a youtube video on doing so.
Instead of the inclusion material being a fiber or reinforcement material is there a way to make them voids? I would like to take all of the inclusions geometry and remove it from the matrix cube, how would I go about doing this/ is there any youtube videos on doing so?
Hi, I need little kindly help me to resolve this issue. I am trying to get results in Static structural when I applied load and boundary conditions my force is not moving in whole body. It stops after a while these messages popped up on my screen. Kindly help me to resolve this problem. 1. One or more Contact Regions have Contact Shell Face or Target Shell Face set to Program Controlled. This can adversely affect performance when writing the input file. Consider displaying element normal and selecting either Top or Bottom shell face. 2. The model dimensions in the solver unit system were determined to be very large. This may lead to numerical accuracy issues. Check results carefully. 3.An overlap is detected between one or more contact regions and boundary condition(s) applied to your model. Hence Augmented Lagrange formulation is used as the Program Controlled option for those contacts.
job is not submitted. coming error. it shows as aborted. all the steps are done according to your video.
I deleted the job and recreated. then model was run. but it takes long time and during running time it shows results also. is it a cause of my laptop or whether iI made a mistake during creating the model. 😑

Thank you for this neat explanation. However, I still have troubles. When running any abaqus command (e.g. abaqus system=info), the following error prints out: invalid command line argument: ia32_intel64 although I indeed get "Fortran Compiler: Intel Fortran Compiler 2021.12" in system informations. When trying to run abaqus verify -user_std, the simulation fails, with no valuable explanation in the log file. Any idea? 🙏🙏🙏

Hey, I was trying installing fortran compiler on Abaqus CAE 2023. However, I am getting error in second verification step. It is too urgent for me, I will really appreciate if some solution you can provide. ------------------------------------------------------------ Verify test : Abaqus/Standard with user subroutines verification .. log located at C:\Temp\verify\user_std\user_std.log result : ERROR : Abaqus/Standard with user subroutines verification ------------------------------------------------------------ Verification procedure complete
That could be because the intel Base kit and HPC kit versions are not compatible. Make sure that you are using a compatible version. For my Abaqus 2022 CAE, intel toolkit 2024 version did not work so I installed 2023 instead. What worked for me is visual studio 2019 and intel kits version 2023. If it does not work then possible way out is to uninstall everything, and start with installing visual studio first, then install intel kits and then install Abaqus. Rest of the process is same as mentioned in this video.

sir i have a question, how can i define rotation of a 2d grain structure when angles are given in 45 or 90 degree. how can i convert that into something in euiler angle.
