I've used mpc's since the mpc60 1989. This mpc x has a overly complicated work flow. Is it a powerful machine? yes. User friendly? Hell no. I can see if you came up from the begining like anything you might learn because it's your first machine, then you'd know no different. Compared to a few daws and the loop and arrangement functions, mpc is in the least efficient category.

Thank you so much and sorry for the late response. I’ve had some bad weather and just getting back.. well I just have it running right into my laptop using usb-c I believe it’s called. I have a mic in the back of it and also all the audio outs going to two monitors and a sub. Pretty much everything is filled but my mic 2 input. Keyboards and MPC are running to a usb to usb-c hub. Keyboard and mouse Bluetooth

From my experience the processing power of what the MPC offers in standalone is more than the Maschine.. but love me some Native Instruments anyway. lol seems overkill right.. naw none of this is a necessity but depending on what you do and your workflow process shows in ur tools. I have MPC for more hands on and access to drums faster and also laying them faster. Gets my ideas out faster which in turn helps me actually finish beats.. it’s a pricey ticket for peace of mind and quality of life but imma busy man so it’s a no brainer for me. I know FL is good with the sampling but if I wanna sample I would still go to MPC.. it gives you that hands on feel and u can just get to ur drums so fast man. You already know!

Yep! I used a site called picker wheel.. I’m gonna be looking for some other ones too but that’s what I’m using for now. But yep.. it forces you to make something and probably be way outside of your comfort zone

I fw the hybrid I’ve been on FL over 10 years and learned MPC for about 4 years. When i use MPC as a vst it’s very glitchy. Then when i use my MPC as standalone using midi hook up it doesn’t feel the same 😢 as using as vst anywho I’m glad i found your channel cuz i was to use both at the same time 😅 but i find my self more creative on the MPC vs FL i open FL and act like i don’t know how to make a beat 😂

Dawg same thing!! It’s like I can’t even finish the beats in FL bro. Lately I’ve just loved making the beats in the MPC software so you can use all the vsts and then bounce everything down in FL Studio.. the workflow it’s just better how you can just mute parts as if u were in the verse or something and then finish that part.. so basically I’m like throwing everything at the wall and when I bounce it.. just arrange it how I wanna.. that’s in my most recent vids

I’m forcing myself to stay in standalone to get over this beat block I’m having 😂 and yeah i wish the MPC DAW would allow VST3 but my workaround is patchwork but still the piano roll in FL and the arrangement is much better in FL. DJChopsqaud talks about block pattern formation which helps a lot too he does MPC sequence layouts in FL pattern screen

Maybe i missed it there is an way to control fl transport controls from the mpc live 2 while using this work flow method. Akai internal midi application the port i think is 127 or 128 in fl studio. You have to install and enable it. My fl and mpc live 2 not in front of me at the moment there is an way tho . I use it when i use this work flow 🫡👍🏾🫡

@NorthsideTrappin so yeah its an way I use that way in my work flow on windows it's a akai midi internal application it ask if want to install with connection to daw .it's an small application you have to open it and click enable by default it's disabled after you enable it you have to setup the midi ports inside of fl studio i use ports 127. To be clear it's 2 different midi application one is for network midi akai the other is midi internal akai midi . The midi internal akai is the one I use to have mpc live 2 control fl studio play stop recording .

Assigning a port then while in control mode just open the akai midi application click enable its all good afternoon that . I do think the port is important also 127 or 128

I’m running the MPC software so any plugins you have on ur computer will show up. I basically hook it up to the computer and select the instruments there. In standalone mode I just have all the MPC stuff

I have been making beats in Studio One for several years and recently decided to get back into FL. Thanx bro.. and yea I started on FL and was in Cuba’s for many years and they have a feature that nobody talks about in relation to layering which is so cool cause u have different parts within the same instrument but never the less this MPC gets me to actually finish my beats out and I don’t have to click around so much.. it’s amazing bro. I love it. I’m not even a real keyboard kinda guy and the way it’s lit up and u can simplify the beats it’s so clutch. I just love the workflow.. like u can just load everything up and mute different parts.. and just wav it all out and just edit ur favorite daw and do whatever and call it a day.. thanx so much for even checking it out and the feedback bro! 💯💯💯🙏🏾. Yep! I used a site called picker wheel.. I’m gonna be looking for some other ones too but that’s what I’m using for now. But yep.. it forces you to make something and probably be way outside of your comfort zone
I fw the hybrid I’ve been on FL over 10 years and learned MPC for about 4 years. When i use MPC as a vst it’s very glitchy. Then when i use my MPC as standalone using midi hook up it doesn’t feel the same 😢 as using as vst anywho I’m glad i found your channel cuz i was to use both at the same time 😅 but i find my self more creative on the MPC vs FL i open FL and act like i don’t know how to make a beat 😂
Dawg same thing!! It’s like I can’t even finish the beats in FL bro. Lately I’ve just loved making the beats in the MPC software so you can use all the vsts and then bounce everything down in FL Studio.. the workflow it’s just better how you can just mute parts as if u were in the verse or something and then finish that part.. so basically I’m like throwing everything at the wall and when I bounce it.. just arrange it how I wanna.. that’s in my most recent vids

I’m forcing myself to stay in standalone to get over this beat block I’m having 😂 and yeah i wish the MPC DAW would allow VST3 but my workaround is patchwork but still the piano roll in FL and the arrangement is much better in FL. DJChopsqaud talks about block pattern formation which helps a lot too he does MPC sequence layouts in FL pattern screen

Maybe i missed it there is an way to control fl transport controls from the mpc live 2 while using this work flow method. Akai internal midi application the port i think is 127 or 128 in fl studio. You have to install and enable it. My fl and mpc live 2 not in front of me at the moment there is an way tho . I use it when i use this work flow 🫡👍🏾🫡

@NorthsideTrappin so yeah its an way I use that way in my work flow on windows it's a akai midi internal application it ask if want to install with connection to daw .it's an small application you have to open it and click enable by default it's disabled after you enable it you have to setup the midi ports inside of fl studio i use ports 127. To be clear it's 2 different midi application one is for network midi akai the other is midi internal akai midi . The midi internal akai is the one I use to have mpc live 2 control fl studio play stop recording .
@NorthsideTrappin it's been a long time since I figured out how to use the mpc live 2 to control fl studio transport controls If I remember correctly I first was trying to figure out how to get mpc live 2 to control Ableton then I stumbled across the fl studio control also I'll try n post links to the information. Also this for windows 10
@NorthsideTrappin to keep it simple once you find the #akai internal midi application# install you good to go # it will show up in any daw you use as an midi input or out out device. Assigning a port then while in control mode just open the akai midi application click enable its all good afternoon that . I do think the port is important also 127 or 128

how do i get those plugins on my mpc ?
I’m running the MPC software so any plugins you have on ur computer will show up. I basically hook it up to the computer and select the instruments there. In standalone mode I just have all the MPC stuff

That beat actually came out legit. I don't normally do much in Major so that was very interesting to me. I have been making beats in Studio One for several years and recently decided to get back into FL. I am enjoying all the updates with FL right now but I have been thinking of getting an MPC Live as well. This made me want to get an MPC even more. Killer beat bro. I was vibin.
Thanx bro.. and yea I started on FL and was in Cuba’s for many years and they have a feature that nobody talks about in relation to layering which is so cool cause u have different parts within the same instrument but never the less this MPC gets me to actually finish my beats out and I don’t have to click around so much.. it’s amazing bro. I love it. I’m not even a real keyboard kinda guy and the way it’s lit up and u can simplify the beats it’s so clutch. I just love the workflow.. like u can just load everything up and mute different parts.. and just wav it all out and just edit ur favorite daw and do whatever and call it a day.. thanx so much for even checking it out and the feedback bro! 💯💯💯🙏🏾.
