  Duck Tape works fine just ball it up like a small base ball size .(smaller than a small base ball but not to small, small enough to cover the whole back and big enough to grip) stick it on the back press and turn, make sure it sticks good or else it wont work

  I dont think its a dumb idea at all...its the same principle of the rubber ball friction openers. The nice thing about them is, you are less likely to scratch the watch than if you use a solid metal tool. The only issue is, what do you do to close it back up again? Would you trust this to get it tight enough? Would be interesting to close it with a rubber band/ball, then test it with a metal tool to see if it could have been closed more tightly.

  The reason the 3.0 frames are thin is so that when operators wearing hearing protection wont get a headache from the frames pushing into the wearer's temples of his head.

  There is nothing "dumb" about this at all many watch makers, repairers and tinkerers (myself included) at least try a "friction ball" (which works on the same principle) on case backs before resorting to metal openers. Almost 0% chance of scratching and about a 95% change of opening ANY screw back case on the market.

This is only useful for replica rolex wearers because why on earth would you wanna open up a genuine rolex "in an emergency".. what will a novice be able to achieve on such a brilliant time piece??   Dude seriously the old M Frames 1.0 are the best ones, plus the way you just grabbed those others ones together to slide them off to the side is a good way to damage them. I'd reccomend next time placing each of them back in their oakley bags.

  It worked.... although I had to improvise even further because I didn’t have any rubber bracelets like that. What I did was split the band, put the watch bezel down on a foam flip flop, then put my heel down with moderate pressure and rotated the rear cover counter clockwise. It worked! Thanks for spurring my improvisation lol
