Too bad about those horrendous wheels, but otherwise, nice car.
Got a 1980 f350 with Dana 50ttb and 400m motor, she’s an odd ball but still runs great. This would be a dream on my truck. Nice work!
Is there an I beam drop pivot for 2wd diesel obs dudes specifically the 1997hd f250? I want to add a level kit and drop pivots but there is conflicting information in my research.
what u do w the tank gas?
what color did he go with for that buckstop bumper
do you sell this whole setup with axles?
Цена?
Around $26k
Do you guys offer this as a service for customers or just as a DIY kit? I am in OR as well
Where is that located at that is cool 😎👍 man.Im a big fan of Ford
Why don’t you guys use a triangulated 5 link instead of the radius arms and drag link? You can see how much the axle moves when you drop it off the jacks. At least you made the links adjustable which most of the other kits like Solo and Desolate don’t even offer. Maybe on a street truck it isn’t that big of a deal.
One day you guys will take my money 😂
Way too long of a video for what this is and is NOT…
What’s the update on the rear? I can barely drive mine 96 F350 around DFW roads because they’re so jacked up.
Same thing for the two wheel drive boys now. I want to be able to jump these trucks😂
I have a 2000 f250 2wd twin I beam want to go with a 4-6 inch lift do you have anything available for that
You just made my dream truck, cool build 😎
Best video you have made yet! Hope to see more content like this from you guys!
How much do you lose in tow capacity doing something like this?
I'm a little late on watching this but I'm loving the progress you're having with this swap! When will we have another update? Will you have this at the NO BS OBS truck show this year?
Do these kits work with the 90-04? The 05+ conversion itself seems like a ton of work but I also got a steering upgrade kit from far from stock along with fox 2.0’s and would hopefully want to still use as much as possible since it’s new
Squirrelly’s taste in truck builds 👌🏻
So it already had a Dana 60 front conversion right? Its my understanding that F-250 s came with TTB50 with leafs. There was a company, that I dont remember right now, was doing an 8 lug TTB with a ford type 9 inch diff. That would be cool! And you are right , a superduty swap with a Carli system would easily run $10 thousand just in parts. The fab and welding on your kit looks awesome by the way!
Thats correct, the D60 swap was already done. A 9 inch in a TTB50 would be pretty cool! Thank you for the kind words!
This thing fucks.
You give me motivation to dump 5 figures into fixing up my '97 F-350
You wont be disappointed with the outcome, thats for sure!
Cool truck...service body makes it look so functional and tough. Two comments....correctly designed leaf springs are magical as the rear suspension shows. Regarding the front, at the 5:01 part of the video the front suspension needs some work to limit drivers side axle shifting and associated bump steer. You can also see it in other parts of the video when the front end droops after small jumps.
Yes, the front has a small amount of bump steer at full droop due to it being a radius arm setup. We are developing a 4 link option for this kit that will eliminate that for those that want to push it hard, but for normal driving the radius arms work great and are a bit simpler
Hold my beer 🫡😎
The guy that owns this live right up the road from me. I noticed the coil overs in my rearview mirror the other day! Sweet rig.
Very cool!
I'm a little late on watching this but I'm loving the progress you're having with this swap! When will we have another update? Will you have this at the NO BS OBS truck show this year?
We actually just posted a before and after video of this suspension setup and these kits are available for sale on our website. If the owner of the truck is able to make it, this truck will be in our booth at the show but not guarantees yet
This comment was supposed to be for your Duramax swap video... I have no idea how it got on this video. I'm sorry
CANNOT WAIT to install the D50 TTB kit on my rig, waiting for the day with anxious anticipation! Y’all are great!
Thank you! If you already have an order placed, it will be shipping out soon!
❤❤❤❤❤ love the work and quality you produce
Thank you very much!
NGL, I wish you guys would come up with a similar bad ass suspension/4x4 conversion for Econoline vans... My god.
Thats not a bad idea. Vans a tricky though. We have done a lot of 4wd conversions on Econolines and they are hard to get much travel out of with the limited wheel well sizes and engine crossmember.
Man I love this truck and stellar setup. I think I want a service body truck now.
We do too! The service body is cool on it. He also has a Four Wheel popup camper that has been modified to fit in it
@@carrickcustoms9504 shut the front door!!!! That’s brilliant. Dang. Now I really want to.
You guys inspire me. Will be putting a utility bed on my obs soon! Too much utility to doing it.
Thank you for the kind words!
Would it be worth doing it in a b6 gas to a diesel the way you have it? Im at the point of swapping engine, mine has some vent valves due to trimming belt breaking while running
Just for that spindle removal technique alone it was worth watching this video.
Glad you enjoyed it! That technique is definitely very helpful
Why would a person go with a blue top instead of a red top. What’s the difference between the two of them that makes one over the other a better choice
They are both nice steering boxes but we have had better luck with the Bluetop over Redhead.
How many miles did your 7.3 have before it blew like that? You mentioned your piston being cracked caused that whole mess, How often should I expect to swap out piston’s to avoid that situation?
It was a donor engine that supposedly had around 100k on it but was in a rollover truck. The condition of the engine was unknown to me so it was a gamble from the beginning. If you keep your EGT's in check and don't run too hot of a tune you should not have to worry about having a failure like this at all.
Sick
coilspring install with No radius arms? i guess you have unlimited towing
I also would be interested in a trans overview. How you get everything to bolt up and what is the best and strongest transmission. Keep up the good work!
Go with an NV 5600 instead of the ZF-6 ! It's already designed to be behind a Cummins and it is by far a smoother transmission ! (Yes, I have both)
Those good o OBS Fords were built from 1992 through 1997 except the F-150 pickups & Broncos were finished in 1996.
What pound spring rates do you run with these OBS diesels?
Is it a gasser transmission
Yes, it has the transmission from the 1.8t with a TDI 5th gear in it
I got a ecsb 7.3, daily driver/ work truck/ toy. I do bout 70/30 road/dirt. Its loaded to some extent about 80% the time, heavy bout 20%. How well does this hold up long term? Really worth this over a D60 swap?
This suspension holds up really well for the long term and doesn't wear out fast like the factory leaf spring setup. Both are good options but if you already have the TTB50 I would keep that with our coil over kit vs spending the extra money for the D60 swap.
I'm putting a 1.9 ALH engine to an 01e transmission in a b5s4 and I'd really like to have a little info on what to do about the pilot bearing, flywheel, and clutch assembly since I'm planning on using S4 equipment
The clutch, flywheel and pilot bearing will be the same that I used in this car. Whitbread Performance flywheel with a Clutch Masters ckutch. whitbreadperformance.com/collections/tdi/products/240mm-30lb-billet-steel-smf-for-b5-5-manual-swaps?variant=48965239434
What is the limiting factor for travel? Could you get more travel with a longer coilover or do things start binding beyond 14”?
The biggest limiting factor is the axle shafts for 4wd. This is also basically the max amount of travel you can get and still keep stock fenders and fender liners.
this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen
Oh what a beautiful truck.
Whats a 01 to 88 bronco kit cost. I have a axle set.
Check out our website for details on pricing. www.carrickcustoms.com
Can I purchase just the coilovers from you?
The only coil overs we have available by themselves are King 2.5" x 8". If you are interested in those send me an email at [email protected]
@@carrickcustoms9504 Awesome thank you. I'm still gathering parts. I will definitely get in touch soon.
