Hi everyone! I made this channel named in honor of Ragan Smith, who recently decided to retire from elite gymnastics and attend the University of Oklahoma. Ragan has been my favorite gymnast since 2016 since she was named an alternate to the 2016 Olympic team. When she injured herself at the 2017 world championships, I was so sad because I knew she could come away with 2 gold medals. I always loved her playful floor routines the most. I will miss watching her so much and I wish her the best in college!
*** I am not Ragan Smith just a fan of her and a part of the gymnastics community ***

I think this is a great list. I think just maybe Kaliyah Lincoln may sneak in and Jades spot. I really think it’s going to come down to Jordan, Jade and Kaliyah if Suni is healthy…….if not the 5th person will be strong on bars.
Again, no comment on Suni's beam. I believe that what goes into to washing machine matters less than what comes out of it.
Huge Wong fan...she is going to make team. Let's go!!
I agree with this!
Simone Shi Jade Suni and I would have picked Konnor #5 😩😭😭😭
Jordan
Wish gabby the best❤
Gabrielle
Was very impressed with Tiana at Classics. Her routines yea but also her attitude. Looked like she was on a mission and I think she could do it. Still, am hoping for a big improvement from Leanne and still have her on my team: Simone Shi Suni Jade Leanne. I think Jordan is most likely to take that last spot though. And I can see why Skye is the best choice because she could bring a huge beam. 😅
I love Tiana!
Absolutely not a 10 with that squat.
Jordan over Skye
Simone, Shilese, Jordan, Suni and Jade... Reserve: Gabi, LeAnn and Skye
SHE STILL GOT IT......MORE PRACTICE WILL HELP GET THE RUST OFF AND HELP WITH HER CONFIDENCE . I'M CHEERING FOR HER.
Jordan surprised me at the last competition. I thought she had no chance and Leanne or Kayla had the inside track for the 3rd AA spot. I now think Jordan has the edge now. Skye's falls at Worlds hurt her. Jordan made the team last time primarily because of her ability to always hit. If she hits 4 for 4 at US champs and trials, she's on the team.
I’m not ruling Gabby out like most already have in this comment section. She can very well show up at nationals and hit her 3 events there, get that invite to trials and compete AA there. Gabby potentially has a top 3 bars routine the US can use and her vault is absolutely top 5 especially if she brings in a cheng or amanar which will boost her chances. Her beam can score fairly well if hit as well … I’ll see how next week goes and see how fickle folks are if she manages to do better than expected 😂
Good luck Gabby❤, you got this GABBY YOU GOT THIS❤❤❤
I really wanna see Jordan Chiles make the team. Her positive energy is contagious!
She has the consistency too of a Swiss clock.
@@creating1_c1999 She's always on time?
Honestly if this team is weak anywhere it’s beam. I say anyone who hits 4 for 4 beam is a really strong contender which is why I think Jordan is more likely than Skye no shade
Biles. Jones. Carey. Lee. Skye. Jordan reserve
You can tell from the time she steps onto the floor that she lacks an extreme amount of confidence in her self. You can see it in her body language. Gabby you are an elite athlete you just gotta believe!
I would love to see either Kaliya or Tiana on the team!
I'm rooting for Joseclyn to be on the team.
So are the Chinese an the Brazilians lol
Simone Shi Suni Jade Jordan/Kayla/Leanne Alt: Skye, Tiana
Is Jordan’s beam mount a front pike? That mount has an infamous history at the Olympics, and it makes me nervous.
I see Chiles there.
Yeah, I agree with the assessment of the girls. I feel for Gabby too. I hope it isn't too much pressure on her and that it isn't too late for her to qualify even as an alternate, if that's a possibility. Much continued success to all of them.
Trinity Thomas??
Simone, Shilese, Jade, Suni, Jordan... unless Skye goes 16/16 and Jordan has multiple mistakes or gets injured, I think Jordan has the edge. Alternatively, if Suni has a setback I could see Skye getting the 5th spot, but barring either of those scenarios, I think that's the five and then Skye, Kayla, and Leanne as alternates.
i think it will all depends on how will sunis bars and floor look like and if she gets the dty. in that case i would see simone shi and her for the AA, jade for floor and vt and skye for bb ub other way simone shi jordan or kayla for the AA, jade and suni *skye if she doesnt have bars back. alt i see kayla jordan and tiana first case, second jordan or kayla, tiana and skye or kaylia
Love this….but replace Lee with Chiles IMO (Chiles is solid AA if needed last minute)..
My only change would be to replace Skye with Jordan. Jordan is one of those gymnasts where you can put her on any event, and she'll be able to pull a decent score, it might not be the best of the three but in terms of a team final it would be of more use. You would just have to trust that she doesn't have another freak out like she did in Tokyo.
I think it'll be Biles, Jones, Carey, Lee, DiCello
I always forget about Kayla. I think the only two locks are Jones and Biles. Chiles, Lee, Carey, DiCello, Wong, and MAYBE Blakeley (though I wouldn't take her at this point) have a shot for the rest. Everyone else is probably out unless something massive happens between now and trials.
They really need to expand the team rosters and number of gymnasts per event in these competitions. It's absurd to restrict an event to 3 gymnasts.
I'd love a 6 person team and 4 up 4 count. And get rid of the 2 per country for event finals.
@@fitnessandfoodover4085the FIG is committed to including athletes from as many nations as possible and they can’t expand the total number of gymnasts without significantly increasing costs and infrastructure demands. So I doubt we’ll ever see a team bigger than 5. 4 up 4 count would significantly lengthen Olympic competition, so I think that’s dubious as well. I agree about the 2 per rule though. It should be the top qualifiers, period. The best if the best - wherever they come from. And this wouldn’t impact the total number of athletes or the duration of competition.
@@user-wi7kv4mw6t If you want to prove you are the best, first you need to beat the ones who have been having the same advantages as you had been getting, in order to show that you are better than gymnasts who didn't have the luxury to train at the best gyms with the best coaches and best teams to hsysiotherapists, doctors, medical centers, surgeons, even "medication". Hence the 2pc rule. If you want to see 3 Americans or 3 chinese or whatever nationality, go and watch their national competitions, this is Olympics on the world level where thigs are not equal.
@@leykimayri Things are never equal. Genetics, mental/emotional stressors, health, money. It’s impossible to flatten inequity out. The way to practice inclusion is in qualification to the Games - which FIG has done. Barring the third highest qualifier from a final because of where they are from does not create equality. In fact, what usually happens is that their spot just goes to a different privileged athlete from a different privileged nation that just didn’t perform as well in qualification. This harms the integrity of the sport and does nothing to right the wrongs of the world.
@@user-wi7kv4mw6t No things are never equal especially in sports. However it’s one thing not to have equality, and a totally different thing to give extra advantages while taking away chances that other countries and gymnasts can have. A third American will take the spot from a girl from another country who would really need the spotlight of taking part in a final to promote herself and her sport in her country. It may even give her sponsors. While it will do nothing for the 3rd American since she’s already 3rd behind two better Americans who will get all the spotlight in the US and all the better sponsors. Again if you want 3 Americans, watch the US nationals and the Trials which are coming. The rest of the world wants to see gymnasts from all over the world.
Do Brazil next
After Winter Cup, my lineup was: Shilese, Simone, Skye, Jade, Kayla with Leanne, Trinity, and Joscelyn as alts. I thought that if Kayla and Skye could keep their levels of execution, they were locked in. Now…hmm. Not sure on either of them and it breaks my heart 😭 I love Kayla and I want to see her make this team. I just don’t know if she will
Jade Carey is consistent and clean
Superstar robot girl , how can you not love her? ❤️💗❤️
Skye is landing the Cheng with good form and if Jordan is doing her upgraded Vault. (Skye - Vault, Beam, and a solid Bar worker and even a fall on beam she has still scored in the 13s) (Jordan - Vault, Floor, Bars, and a solid Beam) If those (2) bring Upgraded Vaults could change some things.
I need Jordan to up her bars and beam like .1-.2 and she’s good. I reallly want Trinity on that team I’m waiting for her to shock everyone.
I agree with your first three predictions: Biles, Jones, and Chiles based on their full performances at the Classic. I think right now, it's a toss-up for Wong and Lee. My problem with Skye Blakely is that she seems to be inconsistent. How would the super-charged atmosphere at the Olympics affect her performance? Lee is looking better every time I see recordings of her and hopefully she will be in great condition for Nationals. Those kidney infections could well have been life-threatening illnesses. I hope she recovers and is 100% by Nationals. I also agree that Leanne Wong has to up her game.
I love Leanne and it would suck to be an alternate AGAIN. And she scores well internationally. But right now she's got to make her case with no falls and maybe some added difficulty in the next two meets.
I think Leanne can do it. I would love to see her there.
I LOVE Jocelyn...but her landings on FX looked so scary. I know with the Olympics being four years apart it always feels like now or never but I wish she would give herself time to heal and prepare to kill in in 2028.
This. Look at Jade in 2017 vs 2024. Her form is amazing!
Josc needs more time. LA28 will be amazing for these neophytes.
@creating1_c1999 Agreed. I also hope Konnor can come back stronger this next quad, if that's what she wants.
The team will be Simone, Shilese, Gabby (these 3 do AA in qualification), Suni, Jade. I am personally working with Gabby on fixing her routines that Valeri has been stupid about, she is going to qualify for trials and blow people away there. VAULT: 1.) Simone, 2.) Gabby, 3.) Jade // BARS: 1.) Shilese, 2.) Gabby, 3.) Suni BEAM: 1.) Suni, 2.) Simone, 3.) Shilese // FLOOR: 1.) Simone, 2.) Jade, 3.) Shilese
LOL! Hades will freeze over before the selection committee puts Gabby on the team!
@@carrietremble You'll see!
If Gabby is on the team it will solely be for marketing reasons. She is an amazing gymnast and what she has accomplished is truly exceptional, but there is NO WAY that Gabby is going to be the strongest option for Team USA. I admire your optimism, but no.
@@user-wi7kv4mw6t There's very much a way Gabby will be the strongest option - by hitting her Bar routines and doing a Cheng or Amanar. There's still the possibility of her finishing 3rd in the AA at trials too, the ability is there if smart alterations are made to her routines.
Possibility is not probability.
Jocelyn NEEDS to lessen her bodyweight to help those ankles! Why are her coaches not instructing her this way?! this isn’t being mean and cruel, it’s about common sense
Why on earth would you put Skyefall Blakely on the team!?
Pending Injury, I would replace Blakely with Chiles.
Skye DOESNT HAVE very high potential scores on all events. She needs to hit 8/8 on nats (not only that but score 14.2+ on bars and beam) to be in the conversation for the last spot on the team. A solid cheng would help her immensely -doubtful tho. With Jordan’s hit routines at Classics (and the potential of improving fx) and Suni only looking better and better (almost a lock), Skye’s case is not looking that much nice, but at least one thing worked in her favor: Kayla’s mistakes. If Suni simply hits at nats a 6.2+ bars and beam she’s on the team FOR SURE. She’s coming for top 3 AA and can do it even without a DTY. So right now the team is looking like this: BILES, SHI, JADE, SUNI (if hits at nats, which she most likely will) and one of JORDAN/SKYE/KAYLA.
That's about what my team looks like too, except Jordan in place of Skye. I wouldn't even take Skye as an alternate. She chokes when the pressure is on. Not worth the risk for team USA. If she keeps competing in elite i think 2028 could be her year.
I think joscelyn will get alternate incase Jade gets injured. Or Kaliya.
Jordan is a better alernate because she can score higher on her DTY alone, and her floor is also phenomenal
This team could go any way.
I think Jade could be a very solid team player. She’s looking so good this year. Unpopular opinion-Gabby should be out of the running. I *really* think it would have been amazing for her if she had completed strongly. But. She. Didn’t. Anyone still advocating for her is stuck on nostalgia and the desire to see an incredible Olympic win & accompanying story.
Lol😂😂😂, this is a piss poor attempt at trolling and you know it.
I would say Lee becomes a lock if she can hit bars both nights at Champs.
My first thought before looking at comments was Jordan or Kayla rather than Skye. I think of Kayla and Jordan hit the next 2 meets it would be apparent that their international experience would win out over Skye. Tough choice between Kayla and Jordan if they both nail it.
