Nice! Did you ever figure out a way to make the pianos come in on a timer, or does it have to be manually manipulated live?

Why 0.99... instead of 1?
@calumvaughan869010 ай бұрын
maybe its a feedback related thing... like in Max/MSP if you multiplied a delay line by 1 it blows the fuk up... so maybe 0.9999 is the most explicit verb without a feedback loop

amazing! i am trying to replicate it. but when I hit "play" the whole code obviously starts at once. How can run code block by code block? I can't find this info anywhere. Moreover: how did you add the main notes? did you play them and record them in sonic pi with a midi keyboard? AMAZING CHANNEL
@monrhea4 жыл бұрын
you can use the stop command ... add it to each block under every live loop ...when you run the code ... nothing should play .... then activate a block by commenting the block using hashtag before ... stop.. the block you want to play should be activated ... Hope this helps

Hello sounds like data. you know me, but i am not willing to reveal my name to the masses. I hope you understand the cryptic "encoding" of my name. I just wanted to say thank you for teaching me over spring break. I am continuing to use sonic pi for personal use and for schoolwork. I just wanted to thank you again for teaching me how to use the software. You are a very kind person. I hope to see you again! Sincerely, Albania

Hi Nonono, the vocal sample comes from the movie Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y4Fkx6-kk8afYag.html

hi there, would you please tell me where to find tutorial or documentation on those more advanced control like "beat_patterns = track_names.map {|track| b = $beat_data[track]; binary_conv(b[0], b[1])}" and many more ? I cannot seem to find it in the build-in document, the book Code Music with Sonic Pi, or the in thread forum. Thanks a lot.
@soundslikedata34776 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruce, Thanks for reaching out to me. The line of code you reference pulls data from the $beat_data map structure in the corresponding data file (buffer 0) and performs a custom binary conversion function on it. You can find information on 'map' in the sonic pi lang tab in the information section. In my practice I make use of the Ruby programming language more heavily than maybe some others do - and so for array methods like .each and .split I recommend checking the Ruby documentation or stack overflow.
