    Congratulations on 1K!! As I've said before, you're comfort stitching flosstube. It's like stitching and talking with a friend. I think it'd be worth the extra effort to add backstitched blades of grass on Rose of Sharon. The frame you chose for Lady of the Flag is darn near perfect. I've also sacrificed a few stitches to fit a project in a frame and never regretted it. Your wips are so pretty. I really do enjoy seeing all of the Mirabilia's being stitched up.

    Congratulations on another finish! I admire your willingness to use saturated color for dyeing fabric. It's so easy to play it safe with neutral or light colors but you take it to another level and it elevates your stitching. I just picked back up And a forest grew by Rosewood Manor. I started it at the beginning of last year with the intention of working on it every month for a finish by the end of the year. Didn't happen, so now it's this year's goal. I'm glad you've had a quieter, calmer month. You've been on the go since last July non stop it seems, with the house and kids. How are your flower beds handling this summer heat?

  • @brittanycrossstitches
    @brittanycrossstitchesАй бұрын

    @jenniferhannah4424 thanks so much! It's probably my painting background that makes me want that little something extra with my fabrics. I hope you either get good progress or finish Rosewood Manor! My flower beds are doing ok.... darn beetles got to my rose bushes, though. I put new mulch down this year, so I've had to water them about every 3 days. Other than those darn Japanese beetles, they've been good. Speaking of non-stop on the go, last Saturday, we started putting the back splash in the kitchen up. I'm hoping to finish it this weekend, cleared both trees out back all while in this crazy heat! We've been sitting at 92-95 with a real fellow of anywhere between 94-102. Add in humidity of around 60%, and it's like we're sitting in a sauna. You open the door and just step outside, and you're sweating. Nights were hitting around 80-85! Normally, our nights are around 70-75 and during the day 85-90. It's so hot out, so I'm so thankful for air conditioning! The next 4 days are supposed to be 82-89. It'll probably feel cool it's been non-stop hot here. I hope your weather isn't so bad! We went from flooding like crazy and land slides to praying for some rain. All the towns around us get a good thunderstorm once a week, but it breaks apart before it gets to my town.

    Hi Brittany, I was SO hoping you had a new video to watch, it’s therapy for me. My husband just came home from the hospital on Friday. He suffered his 4th Hemorrhagic Stroke and it’s been rough. I love all of your finishes and am especially interested in your thought process as to which fabric color to put them on. I would love seeing a video, of how you determine what fabric color will match best as I am not very good at doing that. You have beautiful taste in fabric color and perhaps you could show us how you determine how to pick fabric colors to match the project. I’m just blown away at your dyeing fabric, I love the freeness that you choose for background. For instance, the first Santa you showed, very nice, so different and origional. Anyway, I’ve enjoyed this video immensely and you have given me a very much needed “emotional” break. Thank you.❤

  • @brittanycrossstitches
    @brittanycrossstitchesАй бұрын

    @Pasos4me sending you a large hug! I hope your husband is recovering well. I'll absolutely do a video about how and why I chose a color for my fabric for different pieces. I think I'm free with the colors I use because I come from a painter background. It's probably also why I pick specific colors for certain patterns. I know how colors interact with one another. That knowledge helps when you want to enhance certain features in a pattern.

    These will be the first ones I actually get to hang in my house, my mother in law and friends love my cross-stitch piece so often times they will come over and "claim" pieces I'm stitching on. None have made it onto my wall yet, that will be changing soon, I am going to hang them down my stairwell wall as it goes from our first floor to our second floor and inhave nothing hung on that wall. I'm very proud of my kids, I'm just supporting them through their adventure of life. I try very hard to protect my children from anyone trying to locate them, as I know there are creeps on the internet, and I don't want to be the one that gives creeps a way to find where my kids go to school or live. My entire life has been devoted to raising capable adults who are well adjusted and are comfortable being self-sufficient. Also generous and kind, they come with us to help elderly in our neighborhood with lawn care and flower beds for free. They know the value of helping others who can't do things for themselves. Plus, they've learned that sometimes someone being so happy and like a burden has been lifted off someone's chest is better than money in your pocket. I'm hoping to make this world a little better!

    @jenniferhannah4424 I hope soon you'll hear that you're cancer free! I'm so glad I could give you something to take your mind off everything you're dealing with, I will keep you on my thoughts! Cancer is a pain in the butt! I know it shook my entire family, and affected my kids as they've always seen me health and active, however when I was on chemo I think seeing me barely able to stay awake some days scared them all. I will say it made me and my children realise that we are never promised another day on earth, so we cherish spending time together even more than before, more so my teenage kids at that time. Playing board games and watching movies as a family are much more special now.

    Look into the daith ear piecing for migraines. I got one side done and I don’t get migraines on that side.

    I had it done on both sides, and it didn't help at all. I think it's because mine are from the pressure of the atmosphere. My husband's ex Co workers father, if that makes sense, gets the same kind of migraines I do and take feverfew, and it has helped him tremendously. So I've started taking that in the hopes it'll help. This past month has been hell. So I'm trying anything right now to see if it helps. I've been to neurologists, and they've tried tons of different medications, and none have ever worked. So I'm hoping the feverfew will at least help. I've it lessons the severity or even makes it so I don't have so many. I'll take it at this point.

    So sorry to hear you had such an awful month with all the migraines! I hope the weather is getting more stable and it gets better by the day! The fairytale town looks totally fine in my opinion, but I get what you mean haha. I think it's most because you're sitting so close to it and then you can't unsee the 'blob' 😆 Thanks for sharing all the beautiful projects. I'm repeating myself but the fabrics you dye are soooo goooood. If you would live closer I would try to convince you to sell them to me haha ❤

    Thank you! I really just throw color around. It's probably my painting background that helps, understanding color with warm tones and cool tones and stuff I think helps. Maybe one day I'll dye a piece of fabric and do a giveaway with it

    @rosesantiago9687 I hate it. I feel like I'm not doing my part, I'm a sahm, so if my husband comes home and dinner isn't ready or the house isn't clean, or he has to take the kids to Dr. Then I'm not holding up my end. Which he tells me to just relax and it's ok, he says you take care of everyone, you need to take care of yourself. Which I do, I just feel like I'm useless on days that my migraines are so bad it's all I can do to just survive.

    Only part way through your video. I am so so sorry you had a rough month. Migraines are the pits I suffer from them but this month was good for me. My daughter in law however has suffered badly this month with migraines. Hoping May brings brighter days for you and your family 🩷. Also the Bella Filipina piece is amazingly gorgeous. I need to purchase a design of hers.

    Which one Aquila or Cleopatra? I think they're both beautiful. Sending good vibes to your daughter in law in hopes this month is better for her as well. It was really bad for me last month but our weather was crazier than it normally is so I'm not surprised

    It has been busy. But once I get my mother in law settled and everything sorted, I know she will feel better and she'll be able to relax. I am exhausted. However, it's worth it when I see how much my help is making others feel less stressed. I will keep going with fairytale village then. I wasn't sure, and I got pretty frustrated, and I had to just put it down. I figured I'd ask all of you to see what you think.
