    Oh, I remember the Scooby and Shag episode well. The police video of the cop pulling them over and the conversation that ensued was comedic gold...lol. I loved all the Harvey episodes along with Space Ghost Coast to Coast, the writing teams spoofing society still holds up.

    With this retrospective i realize what happened to the series. Is the same as with the Simpsons and can be fast seen in the skibidi toilet series because of how Short it is. The problem is "One Uping the last time" Rick goes from wacky scientist, to powefull wacky, to being the "smartest wacky scientist in every dimensiom" (the citadel) to then the "rickest rick" as the destruction of the citadel happen, with Evil morty and Sleep summer posing as "posible strong rick bie products" The only character who developes withouth becoming "another rick" is Jerry. Heck, concidering how rick are designated (which isnt even consistant, as the citadel show 3 ricks with same dimension Number but A, B and C) and suposedly we dont follow the same each time, could be concider that the rick we follow each season or evem each episode is ignore for a more powerfull one. Ending up with "the only 2 who actually invent dimensional travel" The "rickest rick who has ever rickd" No wonder i lost more and more interest in rick as he flanderize himself will the rest do so too just slower. Except Jerry, he has been permanently stablish as the "below one" thus flanderize too, but with potential to step up now and again.

    "Bojack is a petty individual" - until he isn't - and that is what so beautiful with this series. It not only describes and has characters that feels truly human and real and honest, but the small changes are actually visible and makes sense through out the seasons. Had Bojack "been a petty individual" as if that's a character trait that's immutable - he would have *never* given his mom that fake feeling of hope and calm when she had her moment of clarity in the later seasons, he would have told her off like he *sort of wanted to* but realized that, that would have been cruel. The nuances, subtleties and so much else about this series makes it one of the best if not the best series I've ever watched.

    Gonna watch this at some point, but upon rewatching King of the Hill myself, I feel the show is, whether intentionally or not, a sort of satire of modern man and how each generations is softer and softer than the last, but goes the length to show how that's not necessarily a bad thing, and how certain beliefs from the past are still relevant and sensible. I think the show 'God, the Devil and Bob' put it best: each Dad throws a lighter punch. Or something like that.

    Reminds me of a John Adams quote along the lines of "I must study politics and war, so that my sons may study math and philosophy, so that their sons may study poetry and art." That the next generation being 'soft' is the ideal end result of any amount of fighting and is a success of a generation instead of a failure.

    1:50:39 I mean, isn't this the opposite? I remember a time before Social Media, and I'm perpetually horrified by how people share all their information so casually online. But I'd be pretty hard pressed to find someone who had a touchscreen in their hand as a child who isn't just ok with putting their real name out on the internet. I mean, when I first saw that Nickelodeon had shows about children making some borderline fetish content on the air, years ago, I was pretty mortified. I kinda took this episode to be one of those "Pot calling the Kettle Black" moments in the series, as robot pleasure doubles are a pretty messed up concept, but the willingness to participate in this messed up notion is exactly why Fry ultimately belongs with these people. Their values are all skewed in a similar gray way, even if its slightly different depending on their relative societal perspectives.

    I do feel like Tina actually did get a pretty raw deal at the horse riding camp. You can't just give a complete newbie a difficult horse and not follow up with them like that- she was really actually kinda endangered by their negligence. Sure, Tina may be more interested in the Horse Girl fantasy, but the show was more going for making this as Bob's Burgers-ie as possible by denying a Belcher a conventional experience, and she responded in the most Belcher manner in turn. If this had been a normal horse camp experience, I imagine it would have resulted in there being nothing to show at all, but a Tina being a bit listless, feeling like the camp was a very shallow, incomplete taste of the horse-owning experience, and basically being right where we started: pining for ponies. So it was the right choice on the part of the writers, but I don't think her interest or dedication to equine husbandry is truly that shallow.

  • @viedogaems
    @viedogaems11 күн бұрын

    Tina is the type to have a lot of knowledge of horse-theory, but then has little practical experience to back any of that up. She and the instructor made the same mistake in assuming that the two would be equivalent. And ordinarily this would have resulted in her losing interest just like you said, but Tina is uniquely 'Blecher-esque' and manages to avoid the very relatable pitfall of an uncaring instructor killing a student's interest in something they have passion about. I always end up coming up with something better for these scripts after I upload the video.

    LOL! In season 1, you say that Bob "falls into the butter on accident" at lobsterfest. Uh, no, he got _shot_ into the butter by a police officer who had no experience using the weapon she was wielding. That was a pretty smart, subtle critique on police being over-armed and inadequately trained to engage the public in day-to-day situations.
