I draw a little mouse faces on each one of my fingers and wiggle them as I approach with my hand. They never know which one to eat, so they give up

I hate that people still use aspen as their substrate it’s insane. And such a small dish. Even for a baby boa. Smh. God bless that beautiful boa

I’ve had my boa for a week now. Started picking her up after 3 or 4 days. She isn’t aggressive at all but when I have her in my hand she can’t be still, she tries slithering away fast up my arm or away from my hand. Any tips on getting her to calm down? I feel like I may drop her she doesn’t wrap around my hand or fingers

What if your baby boa (mine is a red tail) doesn’t give you a chance to cover his head? Mine is instantly striking as soon as I open his drawer, he doesn’t like people, I’ve tried working with him but I don’t have a chance to grab him or anything before he strikes and bites me
@K8Stuff3 жыл бұрын
I tap trained mine. Little tap with the hook on their head (barely touching) and they knew it isn’t food. Then I could just grab em.

I have two baby boas. A BCI that is about 4 months and a Sunglow that is about 3 months. The BCI is very chill, I can just grab her in the middle with no problem. The sunglow is very timid and defensive. I am going to try this method with my Sunglow next time I have to take her out of her enclosure! Thank you for the video.

You kinda have to when they are in tubs or Sterilites as babies, even my baby green anacondas are unphased by me coming from above. I think it's a bigger issue when the snake is not handled on a regular basis but all my babies are handled often.

At that age you don't want to go bigger and yes It doesn't make much sense to those who don't keep reptiles ( I used to be one of them ) Too much space doesn't make them feel secure, at this age many will simply stay in their hide box most of the time.
