that is insane, thanks for keeping our old shizzle going strong with new tech.
my g5s never had issue with ssds at all .my quad runs dual ssds in raid 0
Thanks Chris you are a champ.
This video was a good find but I'm late to the party. I have an Amiga 2000 with calico drive bezels for ZuluSCSI and Gotek drives that I'd like to color match to the rest of the front. Found the Krylon Satin Pebble (which is pretty close) but Matte Greige is nowhere to be found-where did you find it and do you know if it's still out there? There's also a Farmhouse Greige from Rust-Oleum. Wondering if you have any 2024-era advice before we start applying various spray tans.
walmart has it still
Dinner and a show! Thanks again Dr.Chris!
My Dream was to own an Amiga 4000 one day, I just wish I bought one when they were cheap 🤣
Great work and Great Video! -Mark.

@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Yep, It is Finnish (company is Fazer) but all of it is quite big in Sweden as well.
Those erasers are deathtraps. I have one and I opened it up and OMG.
Crikey! Dr Chris…. that was a hell of a journey to fix that A4KD board. You have the patience of a saint. 👍🏻 Cheers 🍻
There was a weird moment when you said it was 7:30 and I looked at the clock and it was 7:30. I was freaked out before my brain kicked in.
A lot of the corrosion problems could be solved by simply deep frying these boards in a tub of Amtech flux... ok that's a bit expensive unfortunately, but you really want to start using the stuff with hot air.
I have amtek flux and use it when i need to, its great , flows like butter, until it turns in to Caramel brown turds
Go my first a3k reconnected and booted up, took a picture of the broken-off plastic thingy and put it on my minds(dawtcom)/ Not_Rich Also the floppy light stays on solid, My guess, bad floppy ribbon.
.
Wow man thank you so so much!!
I really hope my 4000 gets fixed soon as well. I think it needs a new CIA and a probably a new cpu board. It's away for analysis atm.
Wow-what a ride and expensive repair.
Hello Chris, Nice repair again. Thankx for sharing. Greetings from Steven from the Netherlands
Dope fix man. Good job. Wow, never have seen a 4000 before. Those workstations look awesome. And I bet it can run Doom lol. They were mostly used for higher end workstations for Lightwave right?
How do you have so much time, it looks brilliant!
I dont sleep much. Usually 3 hrs a day sat-fri. Then crash out friday night for 12-14 hours then repeat
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration I remember being that dedicated a long time ago, I kicked the habit after many years.. felt like computerolics anonymous, I was that bad😂
I just used a 1/4 inch drive w 8mm socket...no swivel. Got them all.
Used 8mm wrench for end bolts
