Absolutely STUNNING!!! What a pleasure to listen to !! And what a wonderful fireworks of articulation with absolute mastery of the bow with old school VIBRATO!!!!!! Thank you so very much for sharing this absolute TREASURE!!!!!And if I may say much more handsome than Heifetz!
Stunning playin'
Awesome playing!
Stupendo violinismo ,
THIS WAS THE FIRST VERSION I`VE HEARD OF THIS CONCERTO BY THE MASTER FRIEDMAN. REALLY AMAZING!
So beautifully played- with such heart. Technically brilliant.
Eric ..........love you what a performance good student of Heifetz .... Wonderful played.
Deu aulas e voltou a gravar. O violino é diferenciado e estupendo nas mãos certas.
Meu pai, violinista, ficava encantado ouvindo o Long Play (LP) da época (década de 60). Eu também.
The kind of tone and projection he got on that Strad, my god! That Joseph Curtin was a beautiful violin, but the Strad just had more oomph and projection. This is the best of Friedman's bow as I have ever heard it.
2 min.😮
He sounds a lot like Benjamin Netanyahu when he talks. Erick Friedman was a phenomenal violinist who sounds a lot like Heifetz tonewise.
Gorgeous
As usual, incredible performance by Mr. Friedman! Orchestra was superb as well!!
연주 잘 들었습니다. 감사해요~~💗💗💗💗💗

잘 들었어요~~~💗💗💗💗💗💗
I had the chance to play with a symphony when I was 18 when He was the guest soloist. One of the biggest thrills of my life.
Wow, the speed, accuracy, and overall tone quality sounds so much like Heifetz. Amazing interpretation by Friedman!
grazie
Wowww
Eric was long time pupil of Ivan Galamyan
Heifetz is so dominant that I can literally only hear him even though one of the best violinist is playing with him.
Yes Eric Friedman was Jasha s pupil for a while, he came the nearest to the Maistro a5 that time
Someone else stated that Erick Friedman seemed unsettled, and I agree.
I heard Eric Friedman play this live at the Wigmore Hall in 1975. I've never heard violin playing like it before or since, ( that's not counting Heifetz) and the sound he produced was unbelievable. He signed a record for me, it was of Heifetz and him playing the Bach double. A night of music making I will never forget. There is an incredible performance of Heifetz playing this piece live on Utube.
Great playing.
He sounds exactly like Heifetz❗️
This performance sounds so similar to Heifetz, especially at the end! Bravo, Maestro Friedman!
Gorgeous
Beautiful great Boruch HaShem
mHis mentor and teacher, smiled at him after he played for him, I believe he was 17 years
Learned about him as a student of Jasha Heifist, he followed the master well love it
Marvellous playing - but it's worth having a look at Freidman's teacher, Jascha Heifetz, playing the same piece. Two small points - both men have the benefit of unusually long little fingers (helpful in reaching these stratospheric harmonics), and Heifetz ends with a meaty pizzicato chord, Friedman with a rather indeterminate harmonic. I haven't seen the score, so I don't know which is 'right'.
It’s truly touching to see how his love and affection for his teacher lasted throughout his entire life, despite the things that happened between them. Friedman is often criticized for sounding too much like his teacher but I find that to be a nonsense. He was an unparalleled artist in his own right who deeply appreciated music with all his heart, which is so evident in his playing. I wish there were more videos and recordings from him available here.
Yes, I agree.
💔💔💔💔💔
Wow. Erick died way to young. An amazing violinist and greatly missed.
Great point of contact
He plays it so similarly to his teacher, Heifetz,
Çok klas Çok yetenekli bir müzisyen
Müthiş müthiş bayıldım
This is one of the first pieces I studied with Erick Friedman. I still have some of his markings in my music. ✏️ 🎶 🎻
I love his tone and vibrato.
While I was Heifetz student 4th year , he invited me to his home and had dinner together and gave me an old violin as a gift. Because I didn't have a decent one.
Thank you so much for sharing the precious memories.
Music sounds too loud to listen to Friedman's words. "playing a few notes uplift human ~ " I love this sentence
Does anyone know the last piece?
I really feel pain for Erick when he plays harmonics because it’s very high even I can’t do it I mean it’s very high so its very hard to play
I can hear Heifetz he’s inside Ericks body
Heifetz:………🤭…. Erick: Are you ok Master? Heifetz:Oh sorry it’s nothing I just saw that lots of people likes you more than me so I’m a little bit shock. Erick: Of course you must MASTER 😎
Such a WONDERFUL violinist! So much warmer and human in his playing than Heifitz. Yes, I know. That's blasphemy, but I call 'em as I see 'em. I was a violin student of another teacher at Manhattan School of Music during the late 1970's, when Erick Friedman also taught there. He never really had the career that his playing should have led him to. I wonder if he was another victim of the Isaac Stern influence on violin careers that affected such other wonderful violinists as Aaron Rosand and Kyung Wah Chung.
Isaac Stern has a lot to answer for. Was never sure why he had such a big career.
BRAVO for your "Temoignage and Courage for Broken "legend of pseudo_gentle violoniste, réality is others ,others!...I have practice Master-class with Mr Aarond Rosand ,(Monster TALENT as Ruggero RICCI !) At thé End of summer session ,i told with Mr Rosand,he told me :"Ma career has "controled" by Mr Stern ...and IMPOSSIBLE for you to do a ,INTERNATIONAL CAREER, if you dont be "student of Isaac... ,but about Mr Friedman is prodigious talent!! As M Rabbin.also ,What life !?FOR à Genius TALENT !...Congratulations (Remy,France).
