I love the concept of having the world be "photorealistic" while the character models are old-school pixel art. This is the way. Edit: omg I just realized at the 0:49 mark that his shadow is 2d!!!

Great to see so much passion of into reviving at least part of Xenogears. This is one of my all-time favourite games. I really wish it could get remastered/remade someday. Thank you for this small taste of it!

I was already a young adult when this game came out in 1998. I played it so much that I sorta missed work a few times! Still, 26 years later, a lifetime later, hearing that music makes me cry a little because of HOW good that game was! I still will find a track or two on YT and play it, because not only was the story so mind-bogglingy insane, for the era, the graphics and play were so much more, it was such a blend! Then like I said, the music, no PS1 game should have had music THAT good, but it did, they went hard, and all this time later it STILL goes hard and the emotion in the music is palpable. I just hope Squeenix doesn't try to squash this, even if it is never released, a video/demo of the major parts in this fashion would be an incredible journey to experience!

there is NO reason for the sprites to be so low rez and undetailed. I know its just a fan demo project so all else besides that looks amazing. But that was the one thing that ALSO sucked ass about star ocean. Actaully that was even worse than this, I woudlnt even want to buy that or look at it for very long. SO I didnt. lol. its 2024. The concept of an HD 2D mixed game still holds up. these sprites DO NOT. If SE ever bothered to do this I pray they would actualy redraw them and not be lazy. (not calling YOU lazy, youre just one dude) this IS really cool though!!

If it's not gonna be a playable remake don't call it one - you got my hopes up >:c Seriously, though, this is cool as fuck, I absolutely adore it, and while it makes me desperately want a full remake of Xenogears in this style, I am nonetheless just happy to see this and truly eager to see what else you will have in store for us for this
