  @@aduia4 Very reliable m8, i have the auto version (which imo is more better for a van that size) it's never let me down and i use it to travel all around the uk i bought mine straight from FORD with several extra's like more seats tinted windows etc but yeah top quality van had mine for 3 years there ius a 2024 version out now but pretty much the same-ish no issues so far never let me down. Like i said TOP QUALITY VAN which i believe will last me years and years.

  If anyone would like to understand why this is done i will leave the answer here: All automatic transmissions that are not Dual-Clutch or AMT are Hydromatic transmissions. This means a Torque converter fluid drive coupling. Unfortunately, coupling through fluid drive is not effective at the low speeds which automobiles operate at. To get around this problem, the unique Torque Converter was developed as a fluid coupling unit with multiple types of flows. Vortex flow is harnessed to make it effective at low speeds, to the detriment of optimization in the rotary flow phase occurring at higher speeds. Triple concentric output shafts make a Vortex-Perturbation stator possible for Torque Multiplication at low speed. The compromise between vortex and rotary flow optimization makes the Torque Converter inherently awful, unpleasant, and ineffective at in-gear acceleration and high speed acceleration. This awfulness was overcome with a variety of direct drive schemes. Limited-slip semi-direct drive is one. The German transmission giant ZF is famous for making the best automatic transmission in the world, The ZF-8hp, which overcomes the awfulness using the Full-direct drive and radial deflection direct-drive scheme.

  Excellent POV mate!! I will be buying this pick-up 2016-17 model later this year. I am a Transmission NUT and your video really helped me to identify the lockup/direct drive scheme employed in this nissan navara with the 7-speed auto. Thanks to you're video i can clearly see that the scheme is 90% slip-limited semi-direct drive in first and second starting from the waist of the stall phase in first and continuing through second gear. Semi-direct transfers to full-direct straight after the shift to third gear and remains direct from third up. Upon deceleration and re-acceleration the slip transfers from the torque multiplication phase to the limited-slip scheme and then to full direct when in third gear. Probably on first or second deceleration to re-acceleration it goes straight to limited slip again and full direct when reaching third.

  Hi Asimmus, I had to keep charging it constantly. Electric vans offer such a limited range. It's frustrating because I was feeling cold and couldn't even turn the heater on without losing about 15 miles of range. I wouldn't recommend buying it!

  Go for the auto! The lack of low torque meant constant gear changes. Great little car. Very frugal and reliable ❤️ now I have the mazda 2 hybrid.

  Hello, a question, how does the 110BHP feel? is it strong enough? I live on an island and the 150BHP version has to wait a long time, and in my case it is to carry cargo. Not every day but it would be regularly.

  it felt ok, but heres an idea. Maybe get the 110 and have the ECU mapped for more power and better Fuel economy

  The 110 is desperately underpowered. Constantly up and down the gears to keep it moving. A remap would help, but then the 5 speed gearbox will ruin any economy
