    I believe/ think you are wrong on Najee. He will or should be resigned. He is way better than the pats Running back. Jaylen Warren fumbles too much. its best to have a two headed rush attack so we need to keep Najee

    They could have signed Rudolph to a team friendly deal and could have still gotten Wilson. The Steelers have made some terrible decisions at QB since Ben retired. They brought in a rookie QB with a bad offensive coordinator and also thought signing Trubisky was a good idea. During this entire time, Rudolph was their best option and he was the 3rd stringer. I don't care that they were paying Trubisky more money or Pickett was a first rounder, they should have been able to evaluate who was the best option to be the starter and it was obviously Rudolph. They get paid to know who are the best players that should be starters. This is a big reason why I am skeptical about the Steelers this season. Kyle Allen might be the best QB option by the end of the year but he won't see the field.

    I hate to tell you this ,but this has been the Steeler's way to play football since they've been in existence. When they gave control to Ben they changed their modus operandi since we've been in existence. We dominate the line of scrimmage. Check the Superbowls of the 70s.

    The harsh reality is the majority of the team is on the final year of their contracts and not everyone can be brought back. He’s a good player and doubles as a backup center, but as long as the center and tackle next to his position are good, it makes sense to save money there with a younger guy or an older vet so we can sign a QB to a real contract and resign/extend players like Muth, Najee (maybe?), Minkah, Pickens, Cam (maybe?), etc

    Omar Khan is doing a great job of bringing in players wanting resurrect or boost their careers, but at some point - you are going to need to pay these guys because its the veterans who bring home championships...especially when you look at the offensive line. Offensive line continuity is vital in the success of an offense. We didn't get 6 Lombardi's by NOT paying our O-Linemen. In fact, look at the overall age of the players who were the starters during our Super Bowl runs... It's cool the organization told Daniels ahead of time for planning purposes, but it may send the wrong message to the rest of the offensive linemen IF the team is saying we are not even going to discuss a pay raise (that's bad). Say the Steelers make it to the AFC Championship game or further, now you are going to risk replacing a viable veteran with an unproven rookie from the draft unless you go out and PAY another guy to come in and learn/rebuild that chemistry. This talk may also be saying that we already have your replacement in the building...we're just going to let you play out your contract. Who would that guy be right now?

    I hate to see Daniels leave. He was a solid player ( a little stiff and limited in bending) but overall a good dude and teammate. As far as drafting an offensive lineman in the draft next year in the first round,we’ll just have to wait and see. Next year, if they are picking high enough they could be looking at a QB, if not they still have needs at CB, WR & DL. This team has too many holes for the amount of money they are forking out.

    Spencer Anderson is probably taking one Guard spot. Likely RG if what Daniels said bears out. Anderson is exclusively working IOL after he backed up across the line last year. McCormick will take the other when Seumalo’s contract expires.

    I always emphasize this. Yes James Daniels is a fantastic player, but we have to understand that the NFL is a business and we have SO MANY key players entering free agency next year. Just to name a few some important guys like Pat Freiermuth, Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, Cam Heyward with also some not crucially important but good players nonetheless in Elandon Roberts and Damontae Kazee entering as well although they are guys that we could probably replace instead of pay, kind of like Donte Jackson and Cam Sutton who will join them in free agency. The point is Omar Kahn made a successor plan in drafting Mason McCormick who has so much potential and could be a starting OG right now if we didn’t have Isaac and James for this year. It’s smarter and better money wise to move on from James, replace him with Mason McCormick and focus on using the money to bring back key guys on the offensive and defensive side of the ball that we can’t easily replace.

  • @normanpryor4824
    @normanpryor48243 күн бұрын

    Out of all the guys u mentioned, Najee is the only one worth paying big money. U can offer Muth and Warren small deals, if they decline then oh well, they can get get replaced. As for the rest they all can just be replaced through the draft. Cam, Kazee and Roberts are all 30, while Donte and Sutton will be 30 next year and can also be replaced through the draft and FA.

  • @twindragon5668
    @twindragon56683 күн бұрын

    @@normanpryor4824 I think Freiermuth will emerge as one of the best TEs in the league in a receiving standpoint and will be one of our top 3 receiving weapons in the long term as he emerges into a Travis Kelce/TJ Hockenson type role. His first 3 seasons here were not good as he was barely utilized in Matt Canada’s system that almost never used the middle of the field. But now with an incredibly more advanced Arthur Smith system and Russell Wilson under center who loves to operate the play action, I expect a big year from Freiermuth and Pickens. I think Warren is an important chess piece to resign as him and Najee I view as a package deal. Everyone else I previously mentioned I view as guys that would be cool to resign, but it’s not vital that we do and we can replace them. Cam Heyward though I think we should keep around as long as he wants to keep playing since although he is 35, his production/impact on the defense is still incredibly significant and I think an inexpensive contract would be good for him and us in his final years

    Arthur Smith did not take the Titans to the AFC championship game. Derrick Henry did. Even I could've been a great OC then. Just run the ball with henry and play action once in a while.

  • @skiphavens4456
    @skiphavens44563 күн бұрын

    Who do you think called the plays? Henry didn’t break out until his 4th year in the league, coincidentally the same year Smith became OC. Ryan Tannehill made the pro bowl in 2019 as well 22:6 TD Int ratio before he got hurt. 2020 Tannehill threw for almost 4K yards the same year Henry rushed for 2k. You don’t throw for almost 4k yards “doing play action once in a while”. Don’t downplay Smith’s role in the success of that offense. I think it was a very nice pick up for us considering the team we are trying to be. Going back to our roots but it’s going to be modernized concepts. His “weak spot” is pass concepts, now he has 2 coaches to assist him in that area between Tom Arth and Mike Sullivan. We are going to be fine. Won’t be taking off plays, we won’t look lazy or quit mid game. We got coaches that enforce physicality and effort. Something we haven’t had and it’s pushing everyone to be the best. STEELER FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY!!! God Bless🙏🏾

    Steelers aren't trying to "turn around" anything however. They've been a very consistently successful franchise, with the best HC in the league. Unlike that schizophrenic franchise in Detroit. What they're doing is getting back to their core philosophy. Which is running the ball down the throat's of their opponents, and playing overwhelming defense. They just haven't had the right personal, in the right positions, to prosecute this action for a few years now. Hopefully, they do once again.

    Denver’s environment made it next to impossible for a QB to succeed. Russ still put up better than average numbers in spite of his environment. Hell, asking Pickett and Trubisky to throw more than 1 TD a game was too tall of an order to ask so, at worst, we should expect to break even with Russ as QB1.

  • @CompleteProducer84
    @CompleteProducer845 күн бұрын

    For sure. Russ had exactly double the number of TD of all Steelers QB’s combined last year. If he would have given us 26 TD (compared to the 13 we got), we could have messed around and won the damn division
