You forgot to go downtown where city hall is and what used to be the heart of the business district. I moved there in the early 70's the town was a boom town with the expansion of Chief Joe Dam. There were two taverns a couple of restaurants, a Coast to Coast hardware along with a credit union a bank and two grocery stores. Two gas stations and a drug store. The town really went downhill in the 90's. Sad because it was a nice place to live and raise a family back in the day.

very nice - thank you for sharing. You can walk much of the old higher line used before this lower/longer tunnel was built, the huge old snowsheds are particularly interesting.

As far as I've been able to find, the first minute or two of this video has the only footage of the old cascade tunnel and route on Steven's Pass through Wellington on the internet. Does anyone know if any other footage exists or where to find it?

No, dogs are frowned upon in the National Park and the Lake Chelan Wilderness area, although I have video of Park employees letting their dogs run loose on the trails. Hey, but. don't tell anyone as you are given a ticket for taking your dog on a trail.
