Nina Goradia -Somatic Experiencing & Non-Duality

Nina Goradia -Somatic Experiencing & Non-Duality

Nina offers 1-on-1 Online Coaching Sessions. These include Somatic Experiencing to help trauma & stress related symptoms using somatic self-regulation skills.

*These sessions are secular, but for those interested, she also offers a niche blend of Somatic Experiencing with Non-Dual Awareness & Self-Inquiry to help transcend the trauma identity entirely.

This channel offer 2 levels of education for complete integration without bypassing:

1. On the somatic/body level of personhood/ego for healing trauma in the nervous system

2. Non-Dual Awareness and Self-Realization

Working only at the ego level often plateaus. We release ego identifications at the very root of trauma to discover who you truly are.

*More info: thesomaticpt.com. Subscribe to our newsletter there to receive the trauma map in videos.

*Coaching is not psychotherapy and it does not treat mental disorders. If a mental disorder is suspected, you will be given a referral for a mental health professional.

    Hey Nina I have another question that I have been wondering about for some time :-) hope you have time So my system went into freeze because of a bad boss and some prior violence that happened, so... When I was at a new job I had to call in sick and again the day after... On the second day all the stress acumulated and I thought I was going to DIE and I simply could not do it and simply stayed away and quit my job the next day So my question is: If I had been with that sensation and completed the "task" could I have discharged ALL that energy that arose... I am very curious... Thanx

    Good morning! I came across you BitChute channel, and now I'm here. Thank-you so very much for this little lecture on "Dharma"! While listening, I asked myself if I met the requirements of your definition. I'm happy to say that I do! But it's fantastic to get an affirmation every once in a while. I'm going to learn more about what you teach (the somatic and non-dual path?) and face the day! Again, thank-you.

    I appreciate your observation that being afraid of going into freeze creates even more distress…the very thing that your body is trying to cope with by going into freeze in the first place! I am quite sure that I have spent a LOT of time stuck in this pattern, both as a child when I was shamed and punished for behaviors caused by freeze response.

    Nina, I can’t thank you enough for this meditation and your work in general. I’ve been in serious bracing and anxiety for 6 weeks. The pain in my body has been almost unbearable. With the help of a wonderful psychologist I’ve been able to find my way back to you. It’s like having a huge light shining on me as I do this meditation. And I’m reminded of the amazing resources I forgot I even had from videos prior. I have a long way to go still but I got results today that are leading me in the right direction. Homeward to myself. Is it possibly to be blocked from experiencing this? What roll does mental health, trauma, stressful situations, etc. play in our ability to connect with this experience and grow? I carry so much hurt and stress, my life is stuck in a loop. I understand what you are saying here, but feel like I missed when it was happening because the spark died before it even had a full chance to begin. Can this be healed?

  • @Nina.Goradia
    @Nina.Goradia8 күн бұрын

    Sending you compassion for the hurt you are carrying 🙏🏼 Our primary dharma is always to take care of our body. (I have yet to make this video). So when you are going through these tough times, remember your dharma is never blocked. You are being asked to focus more on healing the body physically, mentally, emotionally and connecting spiritually. Releasing trauma from the body, helping it feel safe, nourishing it with clean food and healthy mental inputs. So yes, it can definitely be healed and this is what your dharma is right now. Once it's healed, you will feel that spark again 🙏🏼😊

    The hardest part is seeking through, getting the clarity to see through. How do we achieve that? :) Once we do, it would tremendously help us to get over emotional over incidents and situations and just let go of the body sending as well. The key is in seeing through though, with clarity, and then (or by itself) processing the emotions within the body.

    The ultimate method for transcending identification was taught by Buddha. He was a true investigator and reporter of the process. Just be still and direct your attention away from all thought. The breath is probably the most common object to which one can direct one's attention, but somatic experiences in the body are an option, too and might be more "entertaining". Regardless, one pitfall, and it's a big one, is creating a story about dis-identifying with another story. A story is a story is a story..

  • @Nina.Goradia
    @Nina.Goradia24 күн бұрын

    Thank you 🙏🏼 Buddha also taught Vipassana as his direct experiential method, which includes somatic awareness with equanimity. Disidentification by itself is great for Self-Realization whereas Vipassana and Somatic Experiencing are great for emotional integration or what my teacher calls liberation work. Both are needed to avoid bypassing and this channel tries to reference both 🙏🏼

  • @Nina.Goradia

    "Dorsal" in this case, means "the back of." So "dorsal vagal" means "the back of the Vagus nerve," which is responsible for the freeze response. So "dorsal vagal freeze" refers to the freeze response and it's the same thing that you're thinking of. The techniques would be the same 🙏🏼

    I’ve commented a fair bit here in the past, and hope I’m not overstepping the mark. My health is really tanked, so I can hardly work, which leaves me with no money for therapy. If someone is stuck in freeze, how can they resource? Surely if they resource, then the body will relax a bit, which will throw up a whole load of trauma. This theory (ironically) leaves me completely frozen; I’m terrified of relaxing and making my activation worse. My system is hyperaroused to an insane degree, but there is a huge amount of bracing in my body. It’s locked so tight. Surely if I try and settle my body will soften and relax, releasing even more suppressed stress, throwing my arousal even higher, and making the load even more extreme. It feels like a catch 22 to me. Kathy Kain talks a lot about getting regulated before trying to unthaw a freeze response, but I don’t see how this is possible. If someone settles and regulates, then surely they’re going to relax this bracing, which will trigger further activation. This apparent cycle has me completely paralysed.

    Hi Pedro, you are not overstepping 🙏🏼 All your comments are sincere and you are just seeking help. I'm sorry you're going through this and your question is an important one. I think I need to make a video response to it. Are you ok with me showing your comment on the video and reading it aloud? I've been in this position you are in right now. The only way I could get out was with non-dual somatic techniques plus a non-dual perspective. It has to do with feeling tones, how the mind reacts to sensation, and widening my perspective despite tremendous unending suffering. I would love to offer you a complimentary session so that you can learn some non-dual somatic techniques. Then you can do them on your own and have more tools. If you are interested, fill out forms at thesomaticpt.com/forms and I will look out for you. I was only able to get the mold remediation done in my place last month, so I am still at the beginning of my recovery. This is helpful stuff. My mum and I have a lot of stuff to sort to move house and I’ve done some every year, and still can let some more go. ADHD, fatigue and back pain aren’t helping me, but I enjoy doing it when I can. Still, my grandparents’ dining table is hard to consider letting go.

    I'm so glad it helps and understand how hard it can be with all these challenges 🙏🏼 Keep chipping away. You might like my video Emotions are Attachments to Sensation Cycles. One day I will make a course on Overcoming Hoarding based on the principles of attachments stored in the body correlating to external objects.

    It can perpetuate indeed, taking 20 years to find the 10th therapy to finally get info that’s been around as long as I’ve lived… what’s another bucket of fury 😏 This video is very useful, good stuff.

    Am I late or right on time? Glad to have you back Miss Nina, I found that changing the placement on focus made it much easier to stay in the body rather than dissociate. I’ve added this to my daily meditation playlist. Were we suppose to have our eyes open for this because I had them closed. Either way thank you so much for your dedication and your work!

    Also when you say bring your attention to your body is it suppose to be the whole body or a certain point? Like feet, head, etc

    Thanks for your kind appreciation 🙏🏼 You're right on time..it's always now, haha 🤣 It's up to you if you want to keep your eyes closed, but it's often easier for most people to focus on their body sensations when they are closed. Some people find it uncomfortable to close their eyes if they had a trauma that they now feel they need to always keep alert of their surroundings, so do what feels best for you 🙏🏼😊

    Oh and I'm very glad the meditation is helping you! For this meditation, you can pick a certain point one time and then try the whole body another time. Both are valid points of focus and you can experiment with this. Focusing on the whole body is something I will discuss in a future video called "the body is an ocean," but both skills are useful.

    Hi @nina.goradia I always find paradoxical when someone talks about not believing thoughts. When they speak, isn't it the expression out loud of thoughts ? Does it mean the words spoken are not believed ? I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts about this :)

  • @Nina.Goradia
    @Nina.GoradiaАй бұрын

    Hi! I am discussing the validity of thoughts. For example, I can say "the moon is made of cheese" and yes it is a thought, but the moon isn't actually made of cheese. So the thought isn't true. Many of our thoughts are like this. We think we aren't good enough or have black and white thinking, but we need to examine if these thoughts or views are actually true or of they are simply false statements that we are believing. When we believe them, we give them power and it can cause us suffering because we are not living in the clearest truest reality. Hope this helps! 😊🙏🏼

    Hi Nina, I have a specific question about a situation that I am confronted with in my personal life: How does one who lives with a chronic illness (specifically patulous eustachian tubes) and is suffering because he is not able to integrate his ego properly and fulfill his ego-needs (relationships, friendships, leadership qualities etc) as a personality. How does one process the ongoing trauma and hopelessness that comes with that? To escape the feelings of despair, hopelessness and sadness I would bypass my emotions and go very deep on the spiritual path, trying to get rid of the painful experience I have daily in this body due to the chronic illness and the mental suffering aspect that comes with that.

    I'm very sorry to hear you are going through this 🙏🏼 I have dealt with severe chronic illness most of my life and that is what put me on both of these paths of SE and Non-duality. I am pretty sure I would not be on them if it weren't for this situation. It is very hard and we must feel through what comes up, but it is also the opening to letting go and true spirituality (that isn't a bypass, but allows for feeling). I wouldn't have been able to heal so much of what I've lived through had I not gotten SE sessions. The channel explains what to do, but having an SEP guide your individual nervous system in real time makes a huge difference to get through to the next level. I wish I could say it wasn't necessary, but it definitely was for me and many people I've worked with. If interested, you can find an SEP near you at directory.traumahealing.org or I could help you via online sessions. I wish you the best in healing whatever you decide is best for you 🙏🏼
