For years outdoor enthusiasts have enjoyed hiking, biking, and even rock climbing around the greater Tulsa area. It is easy to tell when Spring is around the corner as citizens emerge from their homes, eager to luxuriate in the warmth of the sun and a fresh breath of air. Every weekend, usually before the first rays of sun touch the sky, caravans of boats make the trek to local lakes, anxious to get a line in the water and feel that first bite of the season. But few people realize that the prize is so much closer to home and doesn't require a predawn ritual.
The Oklahoma wildlife department has been stocking local ponds, many in your own backyard, for years. All you need to spend an afternoon soaking in the sun, reeling in the big one, and posting pics, is your Oklahoma fishing license and some tackle.
918 Fishing aims to explore those hidden gems, many less than 5 mins from your favorite coffee shop, and share them with the growing angler population. Follow us on Facebook @918fishing

Cool to see local stuff.
I dont agree with fishing nor do I drink beer...yet I want one of these 😂
This is not Oologah Lake it's the Verdigris River
I can't over how much lowwater has changed over the yrs. Some of the biggest catfish I've caught was there at Low water
There’s nothing in Mohawk I’ve been there numerous times it’s sad bc those are nice peices of water it’s just that no one has stocked them
Fished that a few weeks ago from a boat and filled a live well with some big ole sandies.......
Big hybrids on cut shad on the bottom right now. 7 to 9 foot of water
Hmoob shaa
I live right off of lake Hudson. I fish that river 3-4 days a week.. I catfish but currently snagging aswell. If your down to catfish or snag sometime lmk
Nice
Wheres this at?
This is the low water dam that is just down from the dam for Lake Hudson.
They are on the Locust Grove side of the dam
Have you tried you luck with the sand bass yet? If not you still have a little time left.
Finnaly❤
lol yeah sorry. It takes me a while to get things edited and uploaded when I actually get to go lol.
Hopefully you enjoyed looking at him and got him back in the water so someone else could catch him again down the road
Yes, we got some pictures and put him back. He swam back to the spot I caught him from.
Great video and great fish! I just subscribed...I just started my own KZread fishing channel a couple of months ago (I'm in Tulsa) and I really enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work!
Are you still fishing around Tulsa
Yes sir we are. We just haven't had much time to get together and fish. Are you in the Tulsa area?
What bate was used?
We caught them on a variety of baits, but most came on minnows. We threw spoons, swimbaits, and hair jigs.
@@918fishingVLOG wow hybird on minnows NICE
Yeah, they were full of minnow sized fish when we cleaned them. I know they prefer shad, but I guess minnows works too, lol
I caught it 💪💪💪
lol yeah you did great!
Nice next time I tag along
Sounds good
The hybrid bite has been on fire! Have you tried you luck yet?
Beautiful, good times!
Black Wooly Bugger. Can't beat it!
dang how come Ya doesn't throw jerk baits like this during the OKA events?
Because he looses them all while fun fishing for hybrids lol
I make frequent trips to the dam, especially once spring hits. 100ft off the dam on the NNW side, you throw a 3-way rig out there...money :)
Nice video
Thanks! Were glad you liked it
where do you go to watts? or by the dam
We fish by the dam. When you turn down the road leading to the dam. Take the first right to a parking area with bathroom and the low water dam is just downstream from there. Thanks for watching!
How do you set the drag?
yeah you don't have one so you just have to feather some line out if you need it. It is really fun to use though but we haven't caught anything big on it yet.
Goose island is my best spot! Rocky points are perfect for white/sand bass.
Yeah I know Goose Island can be realy good a times. It seems that everytime we take the boat out of Oologah the wind blows 60mph lol
Good to see another video! Enjoy them.
Glad you like them!
Come on let's goo.. fishing 🎣 again let'make 2020 a blast lol....
2020 is almost over lol
Nice catches guy
Only bacause you and Richie weren't there to show us up lol
@@918fishingVLOG No everyones got their good days and their bad days, according to this video it was my bad day lol.
Good day guys! Hopefully I can stop wacking deer and get my truck fixed so we can get some winter sandy fishing in. Keep the vids coming!
Man I am ready!
Strike indicator...bobber.
lol yes it is basically a bobber but for some reason when fly fishing it is called a strike indicator😂
@@918fishingVLOG it's because us fly fisherman are too sophisticated for the word "bobber"
nice video!
Thanks!
I'm going to try and get a blue cat video out soon. I have some blue gill to use.
are you fishing flats to catch blues? I have to admit I don't know much about catfishing.
Yes. They should be moving to their winter holes. Good time to catch them in there transition.
Glad to see you guys putting out some videos again! Good times. Would note that Peter’s fly was a “wooly bugger.” Or a leach pattern fly. Keep the vids coming!
There we go. I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Thanks for coming out and showing us how it was done!
Nice love it. Beautiful had fun. Stay tune.
Yeah it was definately fun. Now we just have to go again
Been here for a year now and ive been looking for a place for smallmouth fishing where is there a good spot kayak
Skiatook is a great smallmouth fishery. I don't really have any secret smallmouth spots to give you. I can tell you I have found them mostly around the bigger boulders. I would suggest trying to launch at osage and try the bank directly accross from the ramp. Let us know if find em 🎣
I love in Oklahoma. This didn't suprise me. Even our city workers have a cold one in the truck lmao!
lol gotta make it through the day somehow
Wow great fishing video, like it, keep up with good work, I subscribed to your channel, can you check mine? I am also fisherman and magnet fisherman 💪
Miss Birch lake like crazy. I am now 6000 miles away from the state I grew up in. Family, camping and fishing was the most memorable times growing up in a state that is otherwise pretty boring. Thank you for this video. I would never want to live in the Bville area again but cant wait to come back and visit all of NE Oklahoma.
Yeah probably the best thing we have here is the outdoors. Thanks for watching!
we fish the same lake
hopefully you have better luck there than we did😂
Check out some of my videos. They are up on the North side of the lake .
will do
Good idea but I think I'm going to stick to my fishing pole
Yeah it is a great idea and is easy to transport the the fishing hole. I gotta say it is really fun to use but I will still default to my rod and reel when possible. Thanks for the comment 🎣
Is that lake always mercy like that or just right now cause I live in stroud and looking for some new lakes to fish cause skiatook is being weird right now
I am Actually not sure this was my first trip to the lake. I know Peter has caught hybrids there a few times. Thanks for watching!
Love the intro!
Thanks!
Its was great and fun going out fishing just never knew trolling would catch crappy lol...Birch lake was a every interesting lake..
Yeah I didn't think we would catch them out in open water
Where are yall out of?
We are all from the Tulsa area. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
Thats awesome im in bartlesville
Nice! how is the fishing up there? It seems to really be heating up here
Everything is still blown out and muddy. I havent been going. May try some bass fishing this weekend
Its not bad. Been fishing the verdigris river north of oolagah lake and been catching nice cats and been fishin copan lake and doin pretty good there as well. Did good on copan during the crappie spawn
Fantastic vid. How is it so good? i want to be KZread friends :D
Thanks and sure
