Add the playback value back to your Final Thoughts please… I think it helps the audience to understand how “important” the album is to you, so to speak.

I loved this album, I liked a lot of the tracks and loved that she did Japanese themed ones too because you can tell she’s passionate about it, Hiss is still my favourite and I think perfect opener as it sets the tone, the snake concept worked well too… I like that she fights back against these bigger rappers that continue to go after her and call her a liar etc. lover her

I will say that, going and listening to Amy winehouse after this album made me appreciate what Lupe did a lot more. Cuz I wasn’t too familiar with a lot of her work but after hearing 2 of her albums I can see where Lupe was going with this and I appreciate him for opening my mind to artist I wouldn’t usually listen to

First track introduces Amy singing in front of an Opera house starting out as a struggling jazz singer in verse one, verse two she goes to a friends flat “house”, goes to sleep. 2nd song Mumble rap, she wakes up goes to the park..sees an old man that grants her the ability to rap in the 1st verse… (The whole third verse is from Amy perspective rapping), the mumble rap song is basically the story of how Amy gets the ability to rap and from that point on the rest of the album is from the perspective of Amy Winehouse being a battle rapper..listen closely to the 1st two songs (Samurai and Mumble rap..those two songs set up the narrative). After that, the rest of the album is from point of view from Amy rapping.

the amy winehouse concept was def sprinkled throughout, but with the general concept being about an artists comeup, dealing with fame, rejection, vulnerabilies, etc. it can be appreciated without really knowing about amy winehouse's specific story or the direct inspiration behind the album dope review btw

Hip hop is not immature that's a stupid statement. J Cole is a coward for apologizing for the fact of claiming to be the best being Muhammad Ali as he put it and then wants to run and hide when someone challenges him on that. But these effeminate males can't understand the reality of competition and that's exactly what J Cole ran from so if you applaud him you're a coward too
