Ik heb de video inmiddels dus gevonden en heb er zeker heel veel aan gehad! Enorm bedankt! Nu eens kijken of het me zelf ook gaat lukken. En wat iemand anders eerder al zei: Veel beter dan al die Engelse filmpjes, waar heel veel overbodige info wordt gegeven waar je niks aan hebt.

Ik ben onlangs begonnen met de Delftse gietmethode met gietringen. Dat van de flessen kende ik niet. Ziet er goed uit! Wijze van uitleggen en presenteren wordt zeer op prijs gesteld!! ;-))

Hoi bedankt voor je filmpje! ik vind dit zo gaaf ik dit zelf ook proberen. Zou je mij de link willen sturen waar jij je gietzand en zo een kleine giet ijzer hebt bestelt. Al teveel geld heb ik namelijk niet. ^^

i have question about bruselse aarde. i tried to do similar thing with brusselse aarde and it did not work when i wanted separate the 2 parts of gietfles. it was separated uneven, lots of aarde remained on one part of gietfles. what could cause it? i used talkpoeder as well. how much water usually should be added to brusselse aarde? or it is not suitable for this type of work at all?

***** brusselse aarde is commonly used for soldering and not for casting, the "clay" used in this video is called delfts zand and i think that is what you need.

***** thanks a lot! and then extra question about brander :) what gasbrander usually people use to melt silver/gold? i used normal gas brander and also stronger one with propylene butane. in the description it is said it can reach 1600-1800 C , but it seems not true. the silver after 20-30 min became liquid but not enough for pouring, it solidifies within 1 sec... what would be yoru suggestion? thank you for consideration

Brusselse aarde has been used for sand casting for centuries. It does take a different approach though. You will have to dry it for hours before you can cast in it. Every caster used to have recipies for the preparation of their brussel sand mix. Some say that oud bruin (beer with high sugar content) was the perfect liquid to use. Main thing is, you will need to dry the mold before you can use it. As for your burner, if you use the right nozzle it would be just fine. But you will have to use it right. Maybe make a little furnace around your crusibel to reflect the heat back or change crucibel size or shape. Good luck!

***** The brander i use is a propane gas compressed air combo, but as Daniel Houwer said, you have to build a furnace to harness the heat, and reflect it back on your silver/gold. i wish you the best of luck!

talc powder here is wrong sticky material. all that is required is sifted charcoal ash. it is sifted to the surfaces by an old sock. the soil to example is much wet, is sticky and does not cooperate. the sledgehammer is very heavy, must be wooden. the prototype mold if it was complex will not evolve smoothly.
