    Have had a wood burner for over 10 years, The other evening without the fire on and for no reason the glass broke diagonally with a load ping what could have caused this

  • @Interiors4Living

    You may find that this is down to the heat lately and contraction. I suspect that you will have some metal glass retainer tabs which have been tightened a little too much, you may find that the crack runs from one of these.

    How would you get that fire out, if you had a problem with it.🤔

  • @Interiors4Living
    @Interiors4Living9 күн бұрын

    The fire has been developed to allow all repairs and maintenance to be completed through the front by removing the glass.

    Ive seen people use mdf instead of plasterboard can you advise why not to yse mdf?

  • @Interiors4Living
    @Interiors4Living3 ай бұрын

    We don't use mdf as it's difficult to achieve a good finish to the corners unless you're able to mitre, it's pretty expensive too. We use plasterboard which is very forgiving where walls, ceilings and floors are out. Using a plaster finish makes it the same as any other wall in your home too.

    Why do you need a fused switch why cant you plug the fire into a socket??

  • @Interiors4Living
    @Interiors4Living3 ай бұрын

    The fires are designed to plug in however this will mean you have a cable and plug visible unless you're going to chase the wall out and route it to the tv recess instead. We suggest a switched fused spur for a more professional look and if placed on the side then it's easily accessible should the fused fail.

    Hi, really great video, can I just ask, if constructing on a new build property does the tv bracket still need to screw onto MDF rather than directly on to the plasterboard (jointed, taped & painted) party wall between myself and my neighbour, would it not be more secure screwed through the plasterboard and into block? Thank you!

  • @Interiors4Living
    @Interiors4Living7 ай бұрын

    We generally do this with the Deepline range of fires as there is plenty of depth in the recess and this means there is a also a void for cables to run through. It also means that sockets can be mounted flush rather than surface mounted. If it's a party wall between yourself and a neighbour then this will be of solid brick so the bracket can be mounted directly to this if you prefer however you will have to chase the wall out to conceal the pathway of the cables.

    I watched this video and realised I’d been buying the wrong wood for the past 30 odd years. My mistake was I was using wood that had been seasoned over 2-3 years instead of buying the more expensive Kiln dried wood, which is made by using loads and loads of electricity to dry out the unseasoned wood! Doh 😣 🤦🏻‍♂️
