Is there an easy way of getting the TV centred vertically? My TV has vesa mounts but off centre vertically
Have had a wood burner for over 10 years, The other evening without the fire on and for no reason the glass broke diagonally with a load ping what could have caused this
You may find that this is down to the heat lately and contraction. I suspect that you will have some metal glass retainer tabs which have been tightened a little too much, you may find that the crack runs from one of these.
How would you get that fire out, if you had a problem with it.🤔
The fire has been developed to allow all repairs and maintenance to be completed through the front by removing the glass.
Ive seen people use mdf instead of plasterboard can you advise why not to yse mdf?
We don't use mdf as it's difficult to achieve a good finish to the corners unless you're able to mitre, it's pretty expensive too. We use plasterboard which is very forgiving where walls, ceilings and floors are out. Using a plaster finish makes it the same as any other wall in your home too.
Why do you need a fused switch why cant you plug the fire into a socket??
The fires are designed to plug in however this will mean you have a cable and plug visible unless you're going to chase the wall out and route it to the tv recess instead. We suggest a switched fused spur for a more professional look and if placed on the side then it's easily accessible should the fused fail.
Hi how much would this cost. Do you guys work in Ireland 🙏 super job it look brilliant
We don't cover Ireland unfortunately.
good job lads
Great vid. What brand and model is the fire? Thanks
It's a Firez model which we have in various sizes between 1250 - 2200 as well as slimline models too.
Very nice now i understand it all.
Great video where could I purchase the fire? 🔥
Fires can be purchased direct from Interiors4Living on 0113 2641005 or from our website mediawalls.co.uk.
Hi, really great video, can I just ask, if constructing on a new build property does the tv bracket still need to screw onto MDF rather than directly on to the plasterboard (jointed, taped & painted) party wall between myself and my neighbour, would it not be more secure screwed through the plasterboard and into block? Thank you!
We generally do this with the Deepline range of fires as there is plenty of depth in the recess and this means there is a also a void for cables to run through. It also means that sockets can be mounted flush rather than surface mounted. If it's a party wall between yourself and a neighbour then this will be of solid brick so the bracket can be mounted directly to this if you prefer however you will have to chase the wall out to conceal the pathway of the cables.
@@Interiors4Living Thank you!
very helpful video. thanks
Have you a link.for the tv bracket
Very nice work by 2 craftsmen 👍
How much would this job cost start 2 finish.
The gap around the TV is rarely even. Better to surface mount the TV every time?
Does the frame sit on the fire? If so is that safe?
It is an electric fire yes the frame can sit on the fire it is fine! Thank you
Can you put a link to the tv bracket you used?

is this really a thing? just putting a tv on a wall....
Exceeded my expectations. I bought this for the "not heat" feature. I live in FL and didn't want the heat, only the flame. It looks so good and I'm super happy with the purchase!
Thank you really appreciate your feedback thank you!
This is the best video on explaining how to build a media wall highly recommended watching
Thank you apprecaited!
Is MDF strong enough to use for mounting a tv bracket and tv this is new to me
We have always used MDF to secure TV!
No its not Will pull apart after a while It is only compressed paper after
Great work. I noticed you guys didn’t use any paper tape for inside corners. Do you not need to. Asking for myself??
How long did it take to do this job?
Hi there, Before15 mins, was the primary and secondary heat source, and door opened? Thanks.
After reviewing as many videos as possible before I tackle my own media wall, I have found this one to be the best by far as it addresses all my questions. Cheers lads
Thank you appreciated!
Hi there, do you know what height the opening is of this fireplace? (Or minimum opening height you would recommend)
Sorry I didnt catch the name of the actual fireplace. Was it a Ferez 1800?
Firez 1800 www.mediawalls.co.uk
I watched this video and realised I’d been buying the wrong wood for the past 30 odd years. My mistake was I was using wood that had been seasoned over 2-3 years instead of buying the more expensive Kiln dried wood, which is made by using loads and loads of electricity to dry out the unseasoned wood! Doh 😣 🤦🏻♂️
Had a stove fitted this week, I'm struggling to get it up to temp, not sure what I'm doing wrong,
Is a media wall a viable option if you want to connect a UHD disc player to the TV. If so, where would it go?
Great vid, How did you plaster board the side of the fire round the panoramic glass?
Hi Jennifer thank you! The fire has an edge kit so the plaster board sits on the edge kit is normally about 15mm so 9.5mm plaster board is ideal then a skim to have it flush. I hope it helps!
@@Interiors4Living many thanks for the reply. When you say edge kit, do you mean the lip that is screwed on all around the sides of the glass?
This is excellent, exactly what im planning to do but instert bio ethanol burner. Can I ask u what lintel size did you use? Does it need to have specific thickness? Thanks
great job, you guys based north? any where near Liverpool for me to hire you guys?
Hi we are nationwide do alot of jobs in Liverpool Garry!

Hello. Where can I get this fire place from?
Hello if you go on our website www.mediawalls.co.uk we have got some special offers!
I bought my media fire from Adam fires
Hi, great video, thank you. I'm about to get a 5 or 6 watt stove. Is there an average amount of time a kilo log will burn or last for please?
What do you suggest when it comes to wood flooring carpet? Build over both? or remove them to build on floor?
Hi you can build on wooden flooring, but with carpet you can do the same or bring it forward and then cut around it!
Great video! Who manufactures the second wood stove that can be seen in the video?
What was the size of the timer that was used to construct the frame ?
Very informative. But the sound quality was bad. A mic would have been useful.
Van i place a TV on the wall above the stove fireplace?
Hi You can put your TV above as long as it is a stove similar style stoves to the video not a hole in the wall stove. We would reccomend you to put a beam below the TV maybe coming out 150mm off the wall to protect the TV from heat rising! I hope it helps!
@@naeemhussain5246 Thank you so much!
I had a wood stove fitted last year and now I have watched your video I have realised I was doing it all wrong. Thank you very much for your advice.
Thank you for the feedback it is appreciated!
Just had a wood burner fitted and doing the curing fires.. the glass has a misty haze on it - will this disappear after a hotter fire? Thanks
Yes most stoves will automatically clean the glass once it gets to temprature just makesure you burn kilndried wood less than 20% mosture content!
Been looking around on KZread for a video like this, it’s the best one around thanks so much!
Glad it helped! Thank you for your feedback!!!
Excellent video, great tips. Thanks
